The Deal II

Mark stared at me for a straight minute, unsure of what to reply to my offer. I could tell he wanted to know more, but at the same time he didn't want to trust me. Lisa must have already planted seeds of doubt in his head by telling him I was a bad person. It was the only possible reason why he hadn't screamed out 'yes' as his answer almost immediately.

"Are you going to say something, or are you just going to stare at me all day?" I asked him, my voice laced with sarcasm as I turned away from his line of vision. His eyes had lingered on my body for far too long and it had made me severely uncomfortable. What I needed was an answer, and not a staring contest.
