His Father's Son

Charo, Kerry, Maured, Walrus and Taymen were frozen by the different torrents of emotion that came upon each one of them. Charo, was shocked because he never expected Dexter to awaken, amazed because of how much power Dexter had shown in such a short time after awakening and confused because he was just told that said person was dead. Kerry was stunned because she never expected Dexter to be capable of mass murder even as a vamp, angry because she knew Dexter must have been pushed to the extreme to awaken and distrustful because she was aware of how Dexter had said he was murdered. Maured was pained because his dearest little bother was no longer his little borther, sad because he had to let go, enamoured because of how good looking his dearest little brother was even as a supe and angry because an obvious person tried to murder his dearest little brother. Walrus was frightened because he knew his world had come crashing down the moment his eyes made contact with the blood red ones of his ex-son. Taymen passed out from fear, shock and fright.

Walrus stepped forward unconsciously, all he wanted to do was approach Dexter, get close to him, maybe if he got close enough he could infuse a tranquilizer in him. Dexter's smirk fell and he flashed his fangs at him

"Don't take another step" he muttered coldly. Walrus obeyed. The Dexter on the other end of the podium seated with one leg swinging back and forth while the other was propped up so his knee supported his head, was not the Dexter that he had brought up, this one was very dangerous and would not hesitate to kill anyone of them, although they were definitely strong enough to kill him considering the fact that he had just awoken, Walrus and the rest of them there knew that they were not capable of hurting a stared of hair on the head of their precious child.

"What did you mean by murder?" Kerry finally asked wanting to clarify her suspicion. Dexter smirked once more

"You're smart aren't you?, figure it out" with that, he was gone. Both Walrus and Maured were overwhelmed with grief while Kerry stood trying to figure out how Dexter was killed which left Charo, who was very annoyed, to do the most important thing. He walked up to Taymen's body on the floor and stomped hard on his balls so even Taymen who was awoken heard a crack. The researcher held his groi holding back tears as he attempted standing

"I'm up! I'm up!" He exclaimed

'F*ck all you upper members, you'll get what you deserve soon enough!' He cursed in his mind.

"What do we do now?" Maured asked, a helpless tone to his voice. Walrus sicked in a deep breath and stood up straight with his head held high

"We have an emergency meeting" he stated then turned to glare at Taymen

"You better start praying for death, former head-researcher Taymen, because what I'm going to do to you is way worse" he growled before storming off, the three members of the upper echelon following behind as Charo dragged Taymen along.

Reena arrived at the front of a yellow hut and walked in. She was immediately surrounded by black dense smoke that would choke a normal person to death, she stretched out her hand and a fluffy ball-shaped things formed in the middle of the smoke before landing on her palm. Reena smiled as she pet it softly, slowly, the smoke turned white in colour and let up a little. The thing in her palm shook a little before flying out of her palm and outside the house taking its smoke with it. Reena's gaze followed the thing as it flew around in front of the hut before taking off towards the sky then went to the gray haired woman seated on a stone stool and she smirked.

"Granny you know you shouldn't try to turn Puxy against me, I've always been her favorite" she said as she walked to the woman

"Hey Granny" she greeted sitting on the floor beside her

"I am not old enough for you to call me Granny Reena" the woman, Tara said

"Okay Granny, I'll stop calling you Granny" Reena said with a slight giggle in her voice

causing Tara to roll her eyes

"You are incredulously childish for a witch" she quipped shaking her head, Reena smiled

"Thanks for the compliment" she replied making Tara sigh

"What did Ramonda do this time?" She asked

"She wants her next of kin to take over" Reena answered feeling a bit edgy. Tara furrowed her brows in concern

"What do you want to do?" She asked

"Nothing" Reena answered causing Tara to raise a brow

"You can't do nothing" she said in an 'are-you-stupid' tone. Reena huffed

"In that case, I want to end the Quad-race war" she said. Tara burst out laughing while bending over as she held her stomach trying to contain herself. Reena frowned and stared at her choosing to say nothing. Tara stopped laughing and blinked her eyes that were wide open when she noticed Reena's expression

"Oh you're serious" she muttered

"Of course I am, if not that, I'm not doing any thing" Reena answered still frowning. Tara cleared her throat and sighed

"Reena, you're not nearly strong enough. To do that you'll at least have to be on par with the Queen witch" she said trying to dissuade Reena from her pipe-dream thoughts

"Well what if I surpass her?" Reena asked totally on a different page, Tara examined the young witch's expression before she made the mistake of laughing at what was not just a horrible joke.

"Impossible" Tara scoffed when she saw Reena was still serious

"Then train me!" Reena said almost immediately as she grabbed Tara's hands

"I am obviously not strong enough and you, you are what you are. Train me to be as strong as the queen witch" she continued speaking very quickly. Tara pulled her hands out of her grip and raised a finger up signalling for her to keep quiet

"And why would I do that?" She asked quietly as she tilted her head with a threatening gaze. Reena shrugged paying no mind to ghe daggers Tara's eyes were sending and opened her right palm to an image began to form on a screen.

"You probably want to know about the border" she said with a fake smile

The image finally formed and Tara saw the desert plain in the screen with wind blowing and sand being hurled around. Her mouth opened slightly in shock as she stretched out her hand. Reena closed her palm and the image crumbled turning into sand that poured out if her palm. Tara's expression turned dark as she stared at Reena

"How did you-"

"I'm the witch of mystery" Reena said cutting her off as she stood up

"No one will ever know my sources"

"Mom, are you okay?" Luciano asked as he rushed over to Delilah who was busy sitting up. Delilah looked into Luciano's eyes and they were normal, she sucked in a deep breath then held his right hand with her two hands

"Luciano, I must tell you the truth about your father" she said squeezing his hand in hers

"Mum, you can tell me about Dad later, for now you should rest. You've been out cold for three hours" Luciano protested trying to get her to lie down back but she pushed the hand that tried to put her down away and held onto the other one tightly.

"Luciano your dad was a-" Delilah paused, she was speaking really fast and loud she had to pause to calm her rapidly beating heart down first. Luciano furrowed his brows

"Mum, you-"

"He was a beast" she muttered quietly. Luciano kept quiet as he stared at her, he didn't know what to do or say anymore and just watched her

"And that book or box or whatever the f*** that was activated your beast flow" she said pointing in no particular direction, she sounded so accusing she appeared hysterical

"Mum, do you realise the implication of what you are saying?" Luciano asked in a quiet tone as he stared at his mother who nodded in response

"Luciano, you are not human, but what sort of beast you are, I do not know" she said. Luciano fell back in the chair that had been beside his mom's bed all this while

"So you got married and had a son with a creature whose genes you weren't aware of" he stated

"He wasn't just a creature, he was a person and he loved me! That was all that mattered to me, I didn't care if he had to goo out in the middle of the night to do God knows what, as long he loved me it was okay" Delilah basically yelled and Luciano could only Stare at his usually level-headed mother

"So you knew nothing about him" he stated

"I only knew he was a run-away. What he was running from-"

"You don't know, yeah I get that that you only knew the name and strangeness of your life partner" Luciano cut her short standing up

"Luciano, the world isn't as you see it" Delilah said grabbing his hand

"What's that supposed to mean?" Luciano questioned, Delilah just shook her head closing her eyes

"Supernaturals, border, coloured zone" she called out

"What the f*** is that supposed to mean?!" Luciano snapped his head back to look at her as he yelled in frustration, Delilah flinched becoming calm

"I'm sorry son, I don't know. That was the last message your father left for you" she said looking down. Luciano stared at her for some time then sighed turning back to her completely as he bent and hugged her tightly "It's okay Mum, I understand" he said as he pet her soothingly, Delilah hugged her son tightly. After a while, Luciano broke the hug

"So, do you know anywhere I can go to get clues as to what exactly I am?" He asked sitting on the bed beside her

Delilah nodded in response then stood up from the other side of the bed, Luciano stood up as well

"Get your bags ready and meet mean the basement" she said as she walked out of the room. Luciano went to work only packing the book on werewolves, the gift from Reena, a change of clothes and some daggers he had for self defense.

The basement was a part of the house he had never been to, in fact, he never even knew that there was a f***ing basement.

Luciano walked into the den and looked around. He had never been to the basement so he assumed his mother would leave some sort of obvious direction. The wide open door beside the fireplace was obvious enough and he walked into the apparent storeroom where he met a trap door open, if it wasn't already open he wouldn't even notice it. Luciano wanted to quip how strange it was but the feeling of familiarity he had was more strange.

Luciano turned on his phone torch light and pointed it down the steps

He whistled

"Well this looks comfortable" he muttered.

Lyn sat in his office and dropped his landlines telephone on its holder. He snorted

an ugly scowl appearing on his handsome face

'That old geezer must be a complete fool to think I'm going to marry that daughter of his. Once the deed is signed our collaboration is over' he thought smirking as he picked up a glass ball on his table. He turned it around looking for something even though he knew he wouldn't see it.

Suddenly, he made a double take and grabbed the table with his hand as he stared at the glass ball that had a blinking light on it

"The b*** couldn't keep it a secret huh?" He muttered glaring at the light. He paused holding his jaw in his hand as he sat up straight

'Good thing I kept this, His son is soon to be in my hands' he thought dropping the ball down

"I don't think I need this anymore" he muttered as he picked the iron pole standing beside his chair and used it to hit the ball until it broke. He kept hitting it even after it had already broken but stopped when the door opened.

He looked up wiping sweat from his forehead and raised a brow when he saw Leila walking into the room with a tray of food

"What is it now?" He asked staring at her as she came closer finally stopping in front of him with the tray. She placed it on the table before him pushing aside some of the papers there

Lyn grabbed her wrist so she looked at him

"What are you doing?" He growled angrily and Leila instinctively shivered both from fright and his touch

"Y-you should eat" she muttered so quietly it came out as a whisper. Lyn stared up at her face so long Leila started biting her lower lip anxiously

'Would he notice?' She couldn't help thinking and sighed inaudible when he let her go and instead picked up his spoon to eat. She stepped beside him and folded her hands behind her back as she waited for him tk Finish eating. Lyn glanced at her from the corner of his eye as he ate the food, he spoke really harshly to her earlier because that was how he was, he didn't dislike her or anything, on fact, she was the only one he trusted and was willing to keep by his side even if she wasn't useful so he was honestly a bit uncomfortable with how things ended between them last time. It unusually felt really good to see her so happy so he ate the weird-tasting food despite his lack of appetite. He sighed taking another bite

'She's already my weakness' he couldn't help thinking.
