Reaching the entrance, Daniel used his teleportation book to teleport back to the city. He decided to ask Nico about the rare drop.
A shiny magic circle formed below the team, twinkling stars gathered toward its centre as if fireflies were having a party, and then with a bright flash the team disappeared. The next moment, they were all inside the inn, lying on the ground.
Daniel got up, only to find Nico staring at his face. "What are you staring at?" Daniel asked with a puzzled look on his face. "Oh, it's nothing, It's just that our eyes are the same color." Nico answered with a smile on his face.
"Oh, alright! Now tell me about the rare drop!" Daniel curiously asked in hopes of receiving a proper answer. "It's not suitable for you, I won't give it to you." Nico's cold response crushed Daniel's hopes.
"Ugh, whatever!" Daniel turned away from him, letting out a heavy sigh. Although he was super curious about the rare drop, he was also excited about the chests he got from the loot. Maybe he could hit the jackpot this time?
With sparkling eyes, he took out both the chests. One was radiating a dark, ominous aura while the other was glowing brightly with energy. "Let's get to it!" Daniel commanded Lumi to activate her buff of luck. Lumi Yipped at him, and suddenly, he felt a surge of power in his body [Divine Luck Stat +100%] A Notification rang in his ears. Daniel grabbed the chest with a bright golden glow, its appearance almost reminiscent of the hallowed halls of a palace. He opened it and a status window popped up in front of him, displaying his rewards.
[Congratulations! You have obtained an epic grade sword "Inuzuma"]
[Its ability allows the user to extent reach by spending mana to create a whip made of lighting]
"Pretty good…!" Daniel knew that he would earn a big sum of money by just selling this. He didn't want any equipment for himself at the moment, instead, he wanted to make money by selling items online.
"Alright, time to open the next chest!" He excitedly picked up the black chest. Its aura was dark, almost ethereal. He opened it and another system notification popped up before him. He stared at the panel momentarily before opening his mouth. "A legendary?!"
[Congratulations! You have obtained a legendary rank Grimoire ]
["Sanguine Prison: It allows the user to take the blood of enemies and halt their movements]
This was his second time obtaining a legendary item. Thoughts of selling it and making millions flooded his mind, however, he wasn't an idiot. He knew that auctioning a legendary item would be a suicide for him. There were many big guilds and players around the world who could go to any heights to recruit powerful players. There was no way he could escape from their grasp once he auctioned the legendary item.
"Ugh, such a pain…!" He complained. Nico turned his head towards him, wondering what he was up to.
"Hey that's!" Nico leans over Daniel and stares into his soul "Hand over the book Kiddo, it's better off with an expert like me" Nico declared like it was obvious.
"Uh what?! Why would I do that?!" Daniel refused, slowly opening the book. "Learn Skill!" He shouted, taking Nico by surprise. 'Ugh, is he going crazy?' Nico facepalmed before going back to doing his own stuff.
"If you want to play that game Daniel," an evil smirk formed on Nico's face as he pulled out the skill book he got previously from that Centipede. "Learn Skill" The book did nothing. " Worth a shot."
Daniel burst into laughter, seeing Nico's futile effort to learn the skill like he did. 'Heh, how do I tell him that it's a player's special privilege.' He chuckled.
"Weird… how did you learn the skill in the blink of an eye?" Nico's curiosity was at peak at the moment. Even as a man who's lived for more than 4 centuries, he had never witnessed this kind of miracle in his life.
"Ahah, it's nothing much. It's just that I am special." Daniel praised himself by saying he was 'special'. Nico rolled his eyes, he knew how to handle the likes of him.
"Oh, I guess you don't want to see this rare skill, huh?" Nico's smile returned in earnest. "Here, think fast" Nico chucked the book at Daniel's face and hit his mark.
"Sigh, fine!" Daniel sighed and came up with a somewhat believable story. He couldn't say that Nico was nothing but a series of zeros and ones after all. "I found a skill called "Ace of Trades" in the past. It lets me learn any skill in the blink of an eye." Just as he finished speaking, Nico raised an eyebrow.
"You're lucky I owe you my life or I might think you're lying " Nico replied calmly. Daniel wiped the imaginary sweat off his forehead.
'I survived…" he thought inside his mind. Heaving a sigh of relief, he checked the complete description of the legendary skill.
[Sanguine Prison]
[Grade: Legendary]
[Description: Allows the user to take the blood of enemies and halt their movements]
"Hey kid, wanna test the skill?" Nico asked, curiosity flashing across his face. It was not very common to witness a legendary grade skill in use.
"Sure!" Daniel nodded and headed out of the inn, followed by Nico and Lumi. Upon arriving at the training centre, he booked a private room by paying some money.
"Here, 250 coins." He handed the pouch of gold to the receptionist and headed to his private training hall.
In the training hall, Daniel told Nico to spar with him. "You asked for it" Nico got into a stance, holding out his hand, and a white glow suddenly shone from it. Chains exploded out of his sleeve, barely giving Daniel any time to dodge; he bent backwards and narrowly escaped getting slammed into the wall. "Not bad, but I'm holding back." Nico shouted.
"I wouldn't like it any other way" Daniel smirked and rushed in with a flurry of blows. Nico dodged every attack, moving his body like water. Daniel managed to scratch Nico's cheek with his fist and shouted. "Blood Red Prison!"
[Conditions Met]
[Skill Evolution: Sanguine Prison -> Blood Alchemy]
Daniel wished he had his greatsword on him but this was a practice match. Just as he thought about it, Nico's blood suddenly started forming into a long sword. The sword was gonna fly past Daniel, however, he managed to grab it and snapped back into his stance. "Call it luck or call it fate, but you're going down"
"What the hell?!" Nico exclaimed in disbelief. He swung one of his chains at Daniel and clashed with his Blood Blade. "Ain't that neat an evolution skill"
"How do you know what it is?" Daniel asked in their deadlock.
"Live a few centuries and find out" Nico Smirked.
