Little Past

Alex jumped and gave a direct blow to the bully on the face. A cocky grin on his face. The other bullies were shocked to see the kick, while the one who received the kick fell down to the ground.

Alex landed on the ground. Brought his fist forth, Challenging the other bullies. "Who's next from ya all?".

The bully of the ground had his mind dizzy with a single kick from Alex. Unable to stand he kept laying with no effort or desire to get up.

The other three bullies charged at once, after seeing Alex alone. But their minds took a turn when they saw a metal rod in Alex's hand.

"if any of you want to fight, don't blame me for making you bleed"

Giving them an icy glare, there to be no fear in his heart of accidentally hurting them or a wrong hit to death.

They were furtive and took several step back realising that they were in a predicament.

"What's wrong? You're frightened by this rod as if I will kill you with it?" Alex said.

Placing the rod on his shoulder, small steps he took. His aim is to come close to the bullies. Bullies had no choice but to make a run for fear of getting hit by the rod.

"Run!!" One of them shouted before running off.

"Auh? Run… run like scared cats and don't come back here, Pathetic."

Looking back at William, who was feeling stunned and scared at the same time. Alex walked, a few inches away from William he stopped. "Why ya so weak kid? If I were you I do learn something to beat these kids"

Nothing he could say, all what he said was in his mind.

Saying it is much easier than doing it.

William being rich wasn't all wonderous for him. Needless to say, he didn't wish to live his life any further. Living with his parents who placed their hopes and dreams on the shoulder of a young kid who hasn't learned to enjoy the meaning of life.

Relatives who take advantage of whatever opportunity they get to mock him and put more burden with weird suggestions to his parents.

No friend to have a chat with, no siblings to support him or anyone he could share his pain with.

He got up from the ground, cleaned his clothes with his hands. Giving a glance at the clothes Alex was wearing. Knowledging that the boy who protected him must be from a poor family.

"What's with the holes in your clothes? Are you poor?"

Putting his finger in the nose, Alex said with a blank expression. "Why ya so rude calling me poor. What's wrong with being poor"

"I didn't mean like that!!" William nervously started, feeling the guilt for asking such a question.

Pulling his hand forward, he said. "Thanks for saving me" feeling happy that someone stood for him.

Alex without thinking much shook his hand. "I'm just doing my job ya know, protecting the weak is my dream".

Looking at how handsome clothes William was wearing, a desire to want the same came in his mind; however, reality struck hard and made him realise his low standards.

"So… I'm gonna head out my mother must be waiting for me"

"Sure, why not little guy"

Little guy?! William, displeased with it, didn't say a single thing but gave a big wide smile before going off.

Every day, both Met each other on the same spot and became a genuine friend who stood for each other in all matters. A bond like blood sharing brothers.

Time ticked on, Alex joined a fighting club where he fought and earned money. Some for his sick mother treatment and other donated to orphanages or needs of anyone.

An open hearted he was.

The day disaster occured and gates opened. Monster caused a major commercial Disaster, resulting in mass destruction. Not only that, a hospital was destroyed where Alex's sick mother was hospitalised. His mother was buried under the collapsed hospital.

With his own two eyes Alex witness, the scene was horror for him. His cries were loud.

"Mother!!! These d*mn rocks why won't you just move.", "mother!!, no, no, where… where" every possible thing he could do he did. But all in vain, the only remains he could collect was the later found dead body of her's. The only family he had was her while his father died during a gun shot protecting a civilian.

What left was him alone. Alex along with William became hunters after being blessed by black energy. Joining the frozen guild they were quick to reach the top and become Captain Alex and Vice Captain William Of firest division.

William's funeral was long gone, the time passed by and Clark left the Guild to spend some time with his siblings.

He still participated in several gates which appeared somewhere near, although they weren't anything special to him. He was close to reaching a new rank, just requiring one more level up.

Clark sitting under the shade of an umbrella and a table In Front. Out of boredom he continues to tap his finger on the table, hand under his chin.

Where is that woman?

Clark waited for a member from his guild, he waited for thirty minutes. She was late and yet hadn't arrived even after thirty minutes had passed.

"Man, I should buy a coffee. If she didn't want to come, why bother telling me to come here?"

Clark peeked, seeing a waitress nearby he called. "Waitress".

The waitress came, and asked. "Is there something you need sir?" She was very polite with his tone.

"regular coffee" knowing what coffee Clark meant by regular coffee as a daily comer.

Beat out of foot tap on the ground. The wait for the girl continues.

"Pant… pant… I'm sorry, I woke up too late and I checked the clock and I came running" Sara took quite a breath, bent with her hands on her knees.

Seeing her exhausted running all the way here, Clark invited her to sit.

"Don't worry, I already know about your daily late routine. What's the reason for you to call me all of the sudden"

"About the thing you ask me to figure it out"

"Did you find any clues"
