Grace's True Intentions

The next day.

With Angel in tow, I boarded the flight back to my hometown. It was only after boarding that I called Monica to inform her I was heading home and to remind her to expedite a few tasks I had arranged; every step in my plan needed to proceed flawlessly.

I told Monica that I had tracked George's location and asked her to keep an eye on him for me.

After hanging up with Monica, I clenched my phone tightly, fighting the urge to make another call. Finally, I exhaled deeply and turned off my phone.

I couldn't afford to get too close to that man.

Throughout the journey, Angel was exceedingly excited, but I meticulously reviewed my plan.

I kept thinking about what Joy had said to me that day, about keeping my clarity and that he would help me. Was this what he meant by helping? I didn't want to ask him.

Back home, the deep autumn was a bit chilly. I hadn't informed my mom of my arrival to keep her from worrying.
