Grace, The Game Begins

My tone was less than polite. He didn't respond to my question but stood up, picked up a paper bag, and placed it on my bedside with a commanding tone, "Get up! Change into these clothes, I'm taking you out for dinner!" Then he walked out of the room.

I stared at his retreating figure, feeling an irrational urge to curse. Who did he think he was, ordering me around?

But the truth was, I was really hungry. Thinking about it, I hadn't had a decent meal since I arrived in the city three days ago.

I gathered my energy and looked inside the paper bag. It contained a new autumn outfit: white pants, a red wool sweater, a yellow coat, and even new underwear.
