The Stage is Set for Drama

"Stop talking nonsense; you're getting sharper with your words, you little rascal!" After saying this, he playfully slapped my rear. "I'll take good care of you!"

I giggled, snuggling into his embrace, "I'm hungry! And I'm still sick, how can you bear it?"

He scrutinized me, "Are you really sick? Why didn't you bring Angel back?"

"You have no idea how happy she made the grandparents. She didn't even want to come back with me. When I left, she didn't even look at me. The neighbors have several kids, and she was completely enthralled. So, I thought it's best to let her stay there for a while!"

In reality, leaving Angel at my mom's had another purpose; it freed me from worries and attachments. My daughter is my Achilles' heel.

"You decide! Rest up, and I'll get started on dinner," George reassured me, then hugged me before heading to the kitchen.
