The Priceless Aurora

Upon arriving at the hotel room, two western meals and a bottle of decanted red wine were already prepared.

He pulled me into an embrace. "Happy Birthday!" he said.

"It's all a bit rushed, quite simple really, but what matters is that we're together. I'm grateful I didn't miss your birthday."

"Being with you is the grandest thing! I love this simplicity, just being together is enough," I nestled closer to him.

Like a magician, he pulled out a box from nowhere and handed it to me, gesturing for me to open it.

I took the elegant box and slowly opened it. Inside wasn't a necklace or such, but a pen. It was encrusted with diamonds, and my initials were inlaid with rubies, fluttering on the shaft.

"It's beautiful!" My eyes lit up, startled by his thoughtfulness. How did he know this was my passion?

I had a deep affection for pens and had collected various types in a large box at my old home.
