For some reason, my heart felt heavy.
The car still had that fresh scent, probably from the perfume lingering too strongly. But I liked the smell.
At the office, everyone was busy. Luna was waiting to discuss holiday shifts and advance salary payments.
I reviewed the financial reports, pleased to see that our cash flow was sufficient, even with some surplus. That was a pleasant surprise.
I was busy all afternoon, wrapping things up just as the workday ended. Colin came to my office to discuss repaying part of our bank loan, given our healthy cash flow.
I took the opportunity to ask when he planned to bring his parents over. He smiled, "You're really serious about this holiday together?"
"Don't you think I am? The holiday is only a few days away, and my parents are already scouting the market!" I said, half-jokingly, making Colin laugh.
"Alright, I'll book their tickets."
