Letting Go

When I walked into the house, my parents were still awake, waiting for me.

Seeing my exhausted state, my mom quickly took my bag, "Why are you so late? Have you eaten? You look so pale."

"I haven't eaten yet, Mom. I'm hungry!" I said, feeling a pang of emotion. A child with a mother is truly treasured. No matter how old you are, with your mother by your side, you can always be a child.

"Alright, I'll heat up some food for you right away!" She lovingly placed my bag down and rushed to the kitchen.

"Dad, I'm going to change my clothes!"

I headed upstairs and went straight to Angel's room. Seeing her peacefully asleep was a sight for sore eyes. Her chubby little leg was sticking out from under the blanket. Smiling, I tucked her leg back in.

She stirred, her tiny hand instinctively grabbing onto my shirt. Sensing my presence, she opened her sleepy eyes and called out, "Mommy!"
