Caleb was standing right in front of the main door. "Hey!" he greeted me as soon as I opened the door for him.

I grinned like an idiot when my eyes fell on my mate's captivating smile. "Hey!" And I kept standing there, staring at him like a fool. I felt as though I was seeing him after a year when I was only seeing him after a day.

"Am I allowed to come upstairs or do you need Julia's approval to invite me in?" Caleb asked half-jokingly.

I see that he was in a good mood today. Not bad.

I giggled and stepped aside to let him in. "I'm sorry. Come in."

The people who lived on the ground floor flat were rarely home. So, I locked the main door and led Caleb upstairs, into the living room.

For some reason, neither of us spoke a word. Maybe we both were awfully aware that it was just the two of us in the whole house. He made himself comfortable on the couch and I looked around the room, trying not to make it obvious that I was feeling somewhat shy.
