Blame

Throughout the drive, I tried to keep my tears from falling uncontrollably. I was sniffling and wiping my eyes every now and then though. And although I was staring out of the window of the back seat, I could see Gavin worriedly glancing at me every five minutes from my peripheral vision.

It was ironic how everyone except Caleb saw how hurt I was.

When Gavin stopped the car at my destination, I took a deep breath and thoroughly wiped my tears before stepping out of the car.

"Thank you so much, Gavin. You may head back." I dismissed Gavin, but he stepped in front of me.

It seemed like he wanted to say something to me, but didn't know how.

"Gavin, if Caleb scolds you, you can blame me. Say that I forced you to drive me here or something."

He shook his head and said while drooping his shoulders, "I will be fine, Miss. I was just wondering if I should come pick you up tomorrow morning."
