CHAPTER 62 - Mutant Tisane III

Flash back ends...

Sabrina watched with terror in her eyes as Matthew was blasted past her, with part and pieces of his flesh splattering on her face. But even with the pieces of flesh and drops of blood on her face, it was not enough to give her the amount of shock as what she was witnessing before her.

Tisane slowly stood up as the space around him trembled and cracked. Flashes and sparks of crimson electricity surrounded him as he stared at the mutant quads with scarlet eyes.

Jerry felt as if he was standing before an erupting volcano. The destructive aura that was emanating from Tisane was beyond belief!

He sharply turned around to stare at Matthew's unconscious body. His eyes quaked in shock as he saw the armless and legless body of his friend.

_''What is going on?!''_ Jerry was frozen in fear.

In all the battles and challenges he had gone through in mutant school, never had he witnessed such a gruesome sight before!

"I warned you earlier"

He heard Tisane speak as he slowly turned his head to stare at him. Tisane walked towards them in steady strides as even the floor cracked under his footsteps.

As Tisane came closer to them, his aura became much more heavier and stronger as he shouted; "Stay out of my way!!"

Jerry, Sabrina and Melissa felt a huge force slam into them as they were thrown flying backwards, the walls around them and the floor below them shook with tremors as cracks were spreading around them. Jerry felt his bones rattling as a level of weakness overcame him.

Tisane stood staring at them with complicated emotions in his eyes. He wanted to have a go at them, to beat them up mercilessly.

He wanted to satisfy himself with their cries of pain and agony, but at the same time, such thoughts scared and shocked him. He never expected to yearn for such ruthless acts.

Seeing them all on the floor in their helpless states was bad enough, but when his eyes moved to Matthew, he almost turned his head away in repulsion. But what shocked him was that he didn't!

His repulsion to Matthew's gruesome state, only lasted a second, after which his eyes became cold as he stared emotionlessly. Sighing quietly to himself, Tisane walked past the four of them without sparing them another glance.

He was going to first meet up with Mr Fadeyemi, after that, he would go to see his family. As he moved closer to the CEO's office corridor, he suddenly heard a scream behind him;

"You monster....I will kill you!!!"

Sabrina was shaking in sorrow as she watched the horrifying state of Matthew. She just couldn't believe and accept that this was the guy that she had come to depend on and fallen in love with.

Before she became a mutant, she suffered the trauma of being used and dumped by various men, due to which she hated all men and swore to reciprocate in like manner to any man when she became strong enough. Though as the heavens would be gracious enough, she awakened as a mutant and was scouted by one of the mutant agents, whereby she was then brought to a school for mutants after getting a good ranking in the mutant tournament.

The first day she set her eyes on Matthew at the mutant school, she felt a push and pull towards him. But she held herself on check due to the phobia of what she experienced earlier in relationships with men.

But as time went by in the mutant school, she began to come to the realization of the distinctive difference between the mutants and humans. The mutants were not as vain and conceited as mere humans were.

Because of this, she learned to open up herself and embrace the wonderful atmosphere that the mutant school provided for her. She made friends but was never close to anyone.

The desire to have a close companion and with the new boldness that the mutant school had given her, she approached Matthew and sought his friendship. Initially, he was aloof and avoided her, but the more he avoided her, the more she desired to have him by her side.

He was talented, strong and very much favored by the mutant officials, all of which only helped to make her desperate to win his heart. The day he finally started opening up to her was on a mission that they were given to eradicate a group of monsters.

In the battle against the monsters, she fought valiantly by his side and even almost got herself killed from trying to protect him. From then on, Matthew began to take a liking to her, whereby he will at intervals recruit her as a member of his training team or when they go on missions.

She saw his strength and leadership qualities and fell deeply in love with him. She knew that the higher he climbed in strength and power, it would be an assurance of her own ascension.

She knew that with him, her future was secured, until now.....

Now she watched the man whom she placed her entire life on as he lay sprawled and unconscious. His limbs were either no where to be found or scattered into pieces of flesh and bone.

Witnessing such a tragic state of the man she loved, brought her indescribable pain and sorrow. She raised up her eyes which were already blood red with tears as she watched the back of Tisane moving away.

_''He is the cause of this!''_ Sabrina couldn't believe that a random guy that they just met on the first day of their school break was such a terrifying foe.

_''He is no mutant.... he's a monster!''_ Sabrina's rational thinking began to give way to her sorrow which began to morph into rage.

She remembered how she fought to protect Matthew many times in the mutant school when they encountered dangerous monsters, proving to him and everyone that she was the best companion for him. But now, here he was lying in the pool of his own blood and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

She couldn't accept it!

She just couldn't!

She had to kill the monster who caused this!

Yes....Tisane was no mutant but a monster in human form!

She had seen and fought against many mutants in the mutant school and none of them exhibited the horrifying level of power that Tisane just displayed. She had to kill this monster before he hurts anyone else!

With this thought in mind, she stood up with blood shot eyes. Jerry had earlier noticed Sabrina's strange expression, and now with the way she stood up and kept staring at Tisane who was walking away, proved his speculations as he tried to dissuade her.

Jerry knew that Tisane was no normal mutant. If anything, with the terrifying level of strength he just displayed, he would be on par with the top mutants of the mutant school. So if that were the case, all of them combined wouldn't be a match against him!

Therefore, Sabrina rushing to attack was only asking for a beat down.

"Sabrina don't!" Jerry said as he tried to hold her hand, only to have her jerk away from his grip as her aura exploded.

A long gleaming metal rope with clustered blades suddenly sprang forth from Sabrina's hand as she swung it while screaming; "You monster...I'll kill you!!!"

An hour ago...In the CEO office of the top floor....

Mr Victor Fadeyemi sat and listened to the financial and situational reports of the company, which was being presented by the each of the top executives. He frowned periodically when each report was being presented.

Each report presented stunted profits from each region of the country which was caused by a general underlying malignant problem;

Terrorist insurgency!

The various branches of the NPLC (Nigeria Production Limited Company), in the various regions of the country were being attacked periodically by the famous boko haram insurgents, as goods and company equipments were being looted while workers are kidnapped or killed. A lot of money had been spent and wasted to battle these insurgents but with little success.

They all sat around a business meeting long table that was occupied with various files and laptops, as they discussed and pondered on the problems and solutions at hand.

"We can't continue like this" said a man who sat in the first seat to the right from Mr Fadeyemi, the CEO.

"I agree" another man who sat on the first seat to the left from the CEO affirmed; "The attacks are becoming too troublesome and direct, something has to be done about them"

"We need to enhance and upgrade the security system of each state in the country, so as to curb the insurgency" said a female who sat on the second seat to the right from the CEO.

"Hmph it seems you're absent minded on the past results of this issue" the man who sat on the second seat to the the left said with a look of annoyance; "We've spent millions on advanced security systems and personnel, but yet it seems that the terrorists are one step ahead of us"

"The question now is how are they getting their hands on such upgraded weapons and equipment as that which they use to carry out their operations?" A man who sat on the third seat to the right asked as he went through some files in front of him.

"Of course the answer to that question is simple" the man on the third seat to the left replied while looking at everyone carefully; "The underworld gangs are responsible for this"
