“I’m sure she wasn’t feeling sorry when she’s all up on my husband last night!”

When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. But there she was, anger, betrayal, and sadness washed over her all at once as she stared at her husband and the woman who had the same dark brown eyes and dark hair as her. They looked almost identical...?

That same night, she stumbled onto the beach and before she knew it, she was sitting across the table from her high school ex, Caleb, looking down at the terms of their marriage contract that he drafted up hastily. 

Fuelled by anger and betrayal by the people she once loved, Alexandra knew she had to take things into her own hands. Together with Caleb, they plot her revenge.

“Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

The thought that Alexandra would come face to face with her sister, Hannah, didn't cross her mind at that point in time. She was much too distracted and overwhelmed by her own thoughts and endless questions. They were all lingering at the back of her mind, like a piece of gum that was stuck to the sole of her shoe that she can't seem to get rid of.

Alexandra mistakenly thought that she would have been greeted by her own parents at the door. After all, how could she have known that Hannah was staying the night at their parents place after a huge argument with Ethan?

Rewinding back to over an hour ago, back in the old apartment they once shared, Ethan and Hannah sat across each other on the same couch. Hannah's eyes were fixated on his face, she didn't miss that small frown and serious look that was plastered across his face. Feeling her heart beating faster than before, she inhaled one deep breath, then finally opened her mouth to speak after some time.
