When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. “Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

The leaf that had fallen onto the ground cracked underneath the sole of Alexandra's sandals as they walked further in. The sound echoed in the peaceful night, blending in with the gentle rustle of the leaves swaying with the night breeze, creating a soothing symphony that harmonized with the distant chirping of birds and crickets.

It was late at night when Caleb successfully convinced her to sneak out of the house with him, claiming that he wanted to show her something. With Caleb by her side, their fingers intertwined as they make small careful steps to god knows where. She called out to him, her voice barely above a whisper. "Caleb, where are we going?" She asked, a glint of curiosity lingering in her dark brown eyes as she looked at him.

"Do you want to know?" He turned to meet her gaze.
