Despite having Stephanie on her side, deep down inside her hollow heart, she was still overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety and paranoia all these while. She wouldn't admit it but she was afraid of Caleb leaving her for Alexandra. And of course she wouldn't let that happen.
It didn't help that Caleb had been completely ignoring her since that day. Even though they had been living under the same roof, thanks to Stephanie, he would simply walk past her like she wasn't there, barely even looking at her. He wouldn't talk to her, no matter how hard she tried to get his attention and ask him about his day.
Over the next week or so, she found herself being overly alert, her eyes always darting around and monitoring his every movement. Her heart would race whenever she saw him from the corner of her eyes.
