"Alexandra…" Her name rolled off his tongue effortlessly as though it had always belonged there, the deep baritone of his voice causing her heart to skip a beat.

Silence enveloped them in an instant as the air between them crackled with unspoken tension. The flood of memories engulfed them at that moment. How long had it been since they had last seen one another?

Effortlessly, he reached for her back and under her knees, carrying her bridal-style before heading back to the car. 

"Is there anything I can help with? As thanks for… not running me over and providing me shelter?"

"Actually, there is," Caleb said. 

Alexandra turned, raising an eyebrow. She hadn't expected him to so shamelessly take her up on her offer when they both knew it was just to be polite.

"This probably ain't the best time but… Do you want to get married?"

"Huh, what?" Alexandra muttered under her breath. Surprise was evident in her dark brown eyes as she heard the words roll off Hannah's tongue, seemingly stuck on the last two words she said. She was excellent at pretending now, barely anyone could tell that she was faking it. "So... you are my sister."

Ethan walked over to Hannah, closing the gap between them and Alexandra could see the anger written all over his face. "What the hell are you trying to do?" He yelled at Hannah whose smirk only stretched wider in defiance, seemingly unfazed by his yelling and anger.

"What?" Hannah asked nonchalantly, feigning innocence. "I was just introducing myself."

This time, he grabbed onto Hannah's wrist fiercely, his fingers digging into her flesh and her skin was starting to turn red from how hard he was squeezing. "Don't play dumb. You know exactly what you are doing here."
