Ch 66: The Fraud in the Center & New Skill [2]

"Who left this door open? Don't they know the boss has a terrible temper the officer said as walked into the building and found a door near him with no one around.

He approached the door and stepped inside to see if anyone was there, unaware that someone had beside him the entire time he entered the building.

Rey, had narrowly avoided being caught moments ago, didn't know what to do when his clothes started to wiggle, and he was pulled upward.

Hanging above the door like a spider, he prayed the officer's eyes wouldn't on him. Aiden, one step ahead, used his ability to open a door further ahead, divert the officer's attention.

While officer entered the room, Rey seized the opportunity, dropped to the, and swiftly exited through the door.

He quickly it behind him, relieved that nothing happened. However, he knew it would be much harder to leave through the main door, but perhaps the back door would be easier.

As his eyes scanned the area he had just, he realized it was a hidden area not visible to the public.

One side, adjacent to the main road, enclosed by a high wall that normal people, and even some martial warriors, would find difficult to scale.

On the other side, he saw a long metal gate, likely used by trucks or heavy vehicles, as evidenced by the large tire marks.

He noticed some large dumpsters standing beside the walls.

He came in front of them and looked inside one of them with some difficulty as their heights were too high to look into easily.

What he was truly shocking, so he checked the other containers, which were the same as the first one.

In all these broken weapons and dummies, likely from other trainees who trained him at center, broke them, and had to pay a high penalty.

Just as he was about to ask Aiden what to do a notification from system appeared in of his eyes.

[System has detected the host has grasped a little about a skill. The information and are too low to form a skill. Error... Error... Ability <Godly Adaptation> is compensating for the lack of Knowledge.]

[You've a new skill, Stealth (F-).]

That made his mind from the get-go. He just learned a skill without item or stuff. He didn't have a class yet and got an assassin skill.

"Oi, what happened just now? Is it true that I got a new in just a few seconds? Am I not dreaming?"

Rey asked in amazement, as he not expect gain skills by this method

"Why you check it yourself this a dream or reality?"

Aiden said, as Rey, full of joy, clicked on the skill to see its description.

__

Skill: Stealth (F-)

Type: Semi-Active / Passive

Mana Cost: 5 MP per minute (while active)

Cooldown: N/A

Proficiency: 0%

Description:

A basic stealth technique that allows the user to blend into their surroundings, reducing visibility and making it harder for enemies to detect them. The skill passively muffles footsteps and lowers presence, while activation grants enhanced concealment at the cost of movement speed. Sudden actions may break stealth.

Effects:

Passive: Slightly reduces noise and visibility in low-light areas.

Active: When activated, decreases the chance of detection by 15%. Movement speed is reduced by 10% while in stealth.

"Awesome, this is too good for a game geek like me", Rey shouted, hurriedly covering his mouth worried someone might come to investigate the noise.

"But won't I be visible if someone sees me?" he asked as Aiden explained to him.

"Yes, for now, but when you reach the next stage of the skill, you may even gain the ability to go invisible. Stealth is what this skill is famous for, especially among assassin class beings."

Rey nodded and looked at the containers, wondering what to do next. He asked Aiden, "What should we do now? I don't think we can report anything with these items that will be in a few hours."

"Yes, we can't do anything right now, but these things might still be useful to you, don't you think?" Aiden replied.

"Huh, what do you mean by that? These broken pieces of wood are useful to me?"

"Yes, they may look broken now, but we can fix them with help of Zero, right?"

"Oh yes, you're totally correct. Let me grab some and dash away from here."

Aiden couldn't believe that his host could be so dense. "When you have such a huge amount of space available, why are you only taking a few of them?"

Rey nodded with a look of understanding. He then opened his inventory within the container, and the dummies and broken weapons started to fall into it. He repeated the process with the other containers, systematically piling the broken dummies and weapons into his inventory.

"Okay, now we're ready to leave."

He was just about to leave the area by climbing over the wall when Aiden stopped him.

"Hey, wait. If you leave this area by using the wall, they may find it suspicious that you came into the building from the front door but didn't leave."

"Hmmm you're correct. Let me use my new skill for now."

He used his skill to become less noticeable.

[Stealth]

As he used the skill, his image became a little blurry but didn't disappear completely. He looked at his hand and felt the change, sensing that his presence was diminished.

With a smirk, he opened the door to check if anyone was around. Finding no one, he began to move out.

Even though the skill was active, Rey remained very attentive to his surroundings. He saw many people coming and going from the area as he reached a secluded spot.

He then changed his clothes and started to walk away without any tension.

He noticed that many people weren't even looking at him. Even if someone passed by, they didn't feel his presence. Although people didn't notice him, he was still visible, which meant the skill was working. After reaching the entrance of the main hall, he deactivated his skill and walked away, exiting through the main door. Little did he know that the area where he had stolen the broken pieces of weapons and dummies was being watched.

There was a camera recording the entire scene, and although Rey was unaware, he had gotten himself into trouble, which he would have to face sooner or later. However, he had an even bigger problem awaiting him as soon as he got home.
