Ch 68: Matter manipulation & Item repair [1].

Sometime later, when Rey's mother, Jasmine, returned home and found food on the kitchen table, ran upstairs to see what her children were doing She found Emmy asleep, perhaps after eating, as she guessed from the pastry crumbs attached to her cheeks.
When she checked on her son, he was also resting on his bed, with some books lying open on his study table.
'He really was studying but why is there so much food brought from outside?' thought. She didn't say anything assuming he was taking a nap after studying.
Little she know that as soon as she closed the door, Rey's eyes snapped open. He peeked towards the door to see if she was still there.
Finding no one, he sat up and wiped off the imaginary sweat from his forehead.
He then looked at his study table, which he had already set up to look like he had been studying for hours to avoid any uncertain questions.
"Welp! I really got away this time," Rey said as he went to close the door from inside, not wanting his mother to come in while he talked with Aiden about things they had.
"Oii, Aiden, come out and explain the whole scene that led you to let me steal all of these broken items."
Aiden, who heard his voice, came out and saw Rey, who was making a face that showed he won't back down without an answer.
"Okay, so listen. As you know, breaking items there is prohibited. But what if the fault in breaking is not the wielder's but the weapons?"
"Don't make this puzzle. Tell me the reason."
"Geez, these kids these days. Okay, so listen. You know that the place you visited today imposes a high penalty on those who break weapons, dummies, or even walls in some cases, right?"
Aiden asked as Rey nodded in agreement, as that was explained in the rule manual.
"But what if the fault of breaking the weapon or dummy is not the mistake of trainees but the center?"
Aiden told him, but again, Rey didn't understand much of that.
"Okay, so the thing is that the center is giving people like you, are the weak weapons that may break after a few hours of practice. These aren't even worth two thousand in my opinion, but the center charges five times or more. This might be their real business rather than the training gym."
After hearing this, Rey understood the whole.
"So that's why there were many broken weapons and dummies there, from various people day by day, right. So even if someone breaks or three weapons their pocket is doomed to get empty."
Aiden nodded in agreement as Rey now understood the whole truth of his words.
"I understand now, but how are we going to use the items we bring back here? Is Zero going to use particles to the items and make them new, but they will revert to their previous state after removal. So, isn't it sufficient to take back just a few?"
"No, we are not going to take Zero's help completely. We will use her ability to reattach and strengthen them, so can use them freely, like before at the center."
Aiden explained, but Rey didn't understand much. He just nodded as he called out the ability Aiden was talking.

The ability that initially showed a simple line began to reveal a detailed description after single click. Did Rey realize the power that Zero possessed?
"So, I'm going to use it recover all of these, right?" Rey asked, and Aiden nodded.
He then shrugged and got to work, knowing that arguing with him would only waste time.
He took out some of the damaged items from the inventory and placed them in front of. items included a broken sword, spear, bow arrows, a long stick possibly from pole arms, and a few daggers that were broken and cracked in various places.
"Okay, so now what?"
Rey asked as Aiden who came in front of him, explained.
"Now try to use your ability on these items one by one. And listen closely, don't do it forcefully but carefully, if you don't take precautions here, then be prepared to face danger ahead."
Re nodded, although still didn't understand what it could be. He closed his eyes and started to feel the Mana inside his body, trying to guide it toward Zero's core to use her abilities.
He was still somewhat lacking in mana control, but little did he know that this aspect was enhanced by Victor's ability,
After many attempts, did Rey managed to let mana reach Zero's ability core through mana veins or paths, he didn't understand that part very well.
He finally entered the abilities area and guided it toward the Matter manipulation core to use it.
He started to feel the change as he opened his eyes and began to concentrate on the wooden sword lying on the floor, away from the other broken items.
He began to concentrate on cracked area of the blade, which started to wiggle slightly, as if turning into a watery paste rather than remaining solid.
The crack began to move toward other end, attaching itself back together, but the concentration required was more than could.
As the first crack closed, Rey's joy knew no bounds, but his control was disrupted in just a few milliseconds.
The entire sword began to spread like kind of water, and only Rey stopped using his ability did it return to its previous form.
"What the hell did it become now?" he said, while pulling the flatten sword, which was no longer looked like a sword but rather an unidentified wooden piece with two pointed objects sticking out from its sides.
"See, I told you if you even glanced away, you would fail. But be happy it didn't explode and splashed around the room; otherwise, you would have to clean and pick up all pieces yourself," Aiden said, Rey, who had just thought about the potential accident, felt relieved it didn't happen.
He nodded at Aiden's words and put the waste sword back in inventory to train with later when he became more proficient in controlling matter at a higher level. He then decided to recover smaller items or those with less.
He glanced at the weapons and found something perfect: the arrows, which were smaller in size and had less significant cracks.
He brought back all the items and left only the arrows, realizing that he had perhaps out too many. Upon checking his inventory, he found that there were 1,034 broken arrows, which was indeed a large number to repair.
These individuals are truly unscrupulous. Even if they charge 100 DP per arrow, they will still gain approximately one hundred thousand in currency. This is just the amount they can earn in one or two days at most, or even a week. They are clearly extorting people. {DP: Dragon Points}
Rey thought as he picked up a slightly cracked arrow from the heap of arrows.
He began focus on the cracked area, manipulating the matter of the cracks on the wood to wiggle and come together again. He applied a bit of force to connect the material as the crack started to fill with a jelly-like substance.
Once the was filled, Rey focus until he saw that everything was completely joined. He then stopped using his ability, the matter of the wood returned to its original.
He inspected the arrow from all sides and found to be perfect. At that moment, a notification appeared.
[System has detected the host trying to grasp a skill without having it.]

Rey shocked to acquire another skill in just one day. However, Aiden was not surprised, as he recalled some people managed to acquire more than a hundred skills in a single day.
