Chapter 26

He must've sensed my panic because he smiled. "It's nothing to be worried about," he assured. "Dad says he has something important to share with the both of us." I let out a sigh, glad that there wasn't anything going wrong.

Back at the pack house, in Oscar's office, Oscar sat in his oversized office chair. My mother had her arms slung around his neck from behind; her chin was resting on his head.

"Hey Dad," Rowan greeted as he closed the door behind us. "There was something you wanted to share with us?" Oscar stood from his seat, making my mother have to remove her arms from around his neck. He had an envelope in hand, which he dropped onto his desk before taking a step back. Rowan advanced towards the desk and picked up the envelope before handing it to me. It confused me as to why he gave it to me to open. Wasn't he curious?
