Chapter 84

I'm about to ask anyone for any other ideas they could possibly have, but my mother comes up to me, gripping the back of my chair. I crane my neck back and face her. "You have a special guest at the door for you," she announces. My eyebrows knit in confusion. I'm not expecting anyone else.

I get up from my seat, smoothing out my dress. "I'll be right back," I inform everyone. My mother leaves my side and I begin making my way back inside through the back door.

I get to the living room and everyone is bowing their heads in respect towards someone. It most definitely isn't me, but I realize who it's for when my gaze lands on the front door. Or more specifically, the person at the front door.
