Chapter 5

Opening the door to my room, I stepped out in the hallway and was surprised to be greeted by a beaming face, and I remembered her from the ceremony.

"I'm Selene, Gordon's little sister," the girl said and then gave me a hug.

"You are his mate, right? Jacinta Hale..?"

I shook my head, "It's Jacinta Frost, and yes, I am your brother's mate," I said and smiled, happy to meet a person who was my age.

Selene grinned and then swung her arm around mine making me turn the other way, toward a hallway. "I am supposed to show you the way to the dining hall, and then I will give you a tour of this place," she said and then spun us toward a grand opening, and when we stepped into the glare of the sun which flashed through a big window that covered one big wall to my right, I noticed a long table which ran across. "This is our dining table," Selene whispered in my ear, and I turned my head to look at her face, trying to smell or see a hint that what I was seeing is a fragment of my imagination, but I got nothing.

Men and women stepped into the grand room, some men and women hand-in-hand while the others just joked around and laughed, wrestling each other to their seats. It looked like everyone were assigned seats, because people automatically took their chairs.

Analia came from behind a big thick wooden door, with her hair tied in a neat and thick bun. She had dough covering her cheeks and hands, when she saw me, I saw a glint shining in her eyes. "Jacinta, your seat is here, across from Gordon's," Analia came to my side and showed me my seat, which was on the end of the table.

Once I was seated Analia quickly went through the same door which she came in from. Just as the door closed and I was seated, I noticed pair of eyes looking at me. I looked up at everyone, and they all bowed down in respect.

My eyes widened, "What...?" I trailed off.

Selene who sat on a chair near Gordon's said, "You are our Luna, this is a sign of respect," she said and then smiled.

Another perk of being the Alpha's mate, is being titled as the Luna.

I smiled back at everyone nervously and opened my mouth to say something, but then shut my mouth when a waft of pure vanilla smell hit me so hard that I almost shifted into my wolf, but I grabbed onto the table.

Every person stood up, even Selene, so I got up as well. Everyone stared at me with wide eyes, but I just stared at the Alpha. Who is also my mate. Gordon Archere.

"G-good morning, Alpha," everyone praised, but I didn't have anything to say, so I just shut my trap and stared blankly at the figure who walked with such graceful long strides toward his seat, acknowledging everyone's presence except mine.

He wore a white half sleeve shirt which looked to be hugging his body very tight, maybe too tight because of his popping muscles that stood out to be ogled on by every girl in the room. Something twisted deep inside of me, and I tightened my grip on the table, breathing unevenly. They looked to be in their teen years, and it upset me when they stared so profoundly at my mate.

I noticed that everyone were seated, so I quickly sat down myself, but this time when I looked up no one dared peek a glance at me, instead they all put their hands out in front of themselves as they waited for the servants who just entered to serve them food.

The only pair of eyes which I could feel on me were Gordon's. I thought he was going to put up an act that he didn't have a mate, because last night proved that whatever he did was to just get over the ritual. The tradition his pack held. My heart started beating nervously under his dark stare, he was very intimidating.
