Chapter seven

Dazai woke up in an overly large bed by himself, the scent of pecan perfume and rose scented detergent filled his nose. This was Chuuya's bed, but where was Chuuya? Dazai slowly sat up and looked around, eyes clouded as he tried to wake up fully. "Chibi?" He called and slowly stood from the bed, leaving the room and entering the living room.

Dazai let out a breathy chuckle. He had found Chuuya and Miyo. The two were asleep on the couch, Chuuyas arms wrapped around the child protectively as he slept, face buried into a couch cushion. "And this is why they didn't sleep with me?" Dazai muttered to himself, eyes glazing over the dog who was asleep on the floor by the couch.

"When did they get a dog—" He sighed and shook his head, nope. No questioning it. Dazai sat down on the floor by Chuuyas head and decided to poke the small girl's cheek, ability active.

Slowly the small child opened her eyes, sapphire blue eyes shining as she looked around sleepily. Dazai looked her in the eyes. "Good morning, Miyo." he said gently, watching the girls' eyes widen and tears pool in them. Dazai had deactivated her ability, now she could look at people without her blindfold.

"Hi dad.." she whispered and moved out of Chuuya's arms, onto Dazai's lap and hugged him tightly.

"Who's the dog?" he asked, hugging the girl back.

"Spero!" she said with a smile, tilting her head up to look at him. "Mama said he was a special puppy."

Dazai's eyes widened slightly, the dog must be a service animal then. "Is he a good puppy?"

"Mhmm!"

The two brunettes stayed hugging until the ginger woke up, eyes just barely opening when the words 'im hungry' were thrown at him. Chuuya looked over, his half lidded eyes landing on the two besides his head, his sapphire blue eyes meeting with the small girls matching eyes, his bottom lip trembling lightly.

Chuuya got off the couch and pulled the girl into his own lap with a hug that encased her. "You're so pretty.." he mumbled weakly, she was beautiful before and seeing her eyes just made Chuuya extremely happy. "The prettiest girl in the world." Chuuya mumbled into the girl's fluffy, short brown hair.

Dazai smiled softly at the two, seeing as Chuuya was about to cry now over just being able to see the girl's eyes made Dazais heart warm. "Chuuya, the prettiest girl in the world is hungry."

Chuuya laughed and shook her head "of course she is." he nodded and slowly stood, holding the girl in his arms as he walked into the kitchen. "Shall we have pancakes today?"

"Yea!" Miyo said with a bright smile, she had the brightest smile on her face, her head buried in Chuuyas chest as she was carried around the house. "Mama, can we go out with dad?"

Chuuya hummed and glanced over his shoulder at Dazai. "He might have work today, Miyo.."

Dazai smiled, "I actually have the day off."

"I don't believe that."

Dazai gasped. "I do too, even ask Kunikida."

Chuuya stared at Dazai for a moment before just shaking his head. "I wont bother."

Chuuya was carrying Miyo in his arms, one of Dazais arms wrapped around Chuuyas waist to make sure he didn't lose any of the two short people he considered his family. Chuuya hadn't put up a fight this time, he just let it happen. Dazai smiled as he pulled Chuuya closer to his side, talking lightly to the child who was looking around with bright eyes.

"Miyo~ Would you like to go to a bakery?" Dazai asked gently, leading Chuuya towards the closest bakery.

The small child seemed slightly confused but nodded, she had no idea what a bakery was but she would find out today. Chuuya smiled weakly "a bakery is a place where they sell baked treats and things.." Chuuya explained softly.

The child nodded, hugging Chuuya best she could. "Mama."

Dazai sighed and shook his head. "I'm starting to think that's her favourite word." he said, a hint of jealousy in his voice. "Why won't she look at me and call me 'papa'?" Dazai pouted.

Chuuya rolled his eyes. "Great, I have two kids now." He grumbled, letting Dazai lead them to the bakery, which Chuuya will be paying for.

Dazai chuckled. "Oh? Who's the other kid?"

"You."

Dazai gasped. "I thought you were going to say Akutagawa or something."

"Yea, the Akutagawa siblings too, and Yumeno.." Chuuya nodded in agreement. "Miyo hasn't met them yet, she is quite attached to Ryuu and Gin though so it should be fine." Chuuya said simply, the air around them turning slightly chilly.

"Oh? Since when was Q your child?" Dazai asked, his hold on Chuuyas waist tightening.

"After the fight with lovecraft or whatever that ass— that person's name was" Chuuya stopped himself from swearing in front of the child which was clinging to him.

Dazai hummed. "Why?"

Chuuya glared at him as they entered the bakery "am I not allowed to adopt children without your permission?"

Miyo poked Chuuyas cheek. "Mama."

Chuuya faced the small girl and smiled "yes?"

The girl pointed to the floor and Chuuya set her down, walking up to the glass display windows attached to the counter and allowing her to look at everything there. Miyo's eyes brightened at the weight of everything, slowly moving down the display window as Dazai stole Chuuyas attention for a minute again.

When Chuuya turned around, after informing Dazai he would be paying, the child they had brought with them was nowhere to be seen. Chuuya reacted intently, looking around rapidly and then rushing out of the cafe.

"Miyo!?" He yelled out, eyes wide with worry and fear, something rumbling in his chest causing panic and anger to flood his veins. Faint, red marks started to appear on Chuuyas skin, one of his eyes turned red as he looked up and down the street, however with a singular touch from Dazai it all went away and Chuuya was back to normal.

"Chuuya, breathe for a second, I'm 98% sure I know where she is…" Dazai said weakly, arms wrapped around Chuuyas torso to stop the shorter boy from lashing out and attacking someone. "You won't like it.."
