Chapter 142: The Dawn of Sun (10)

After Electro declared his intentions with unwavering determination, he turned his attention to Dr. Doom and the Chameleon.

"Please excuse me, sir," Electro said, his voice laced with a mixture of respect and urgency. "I need to leave now and take care of that motherfucker, Chris Hilton."

Dr. Doom regarded him with a stoic expression and gave a curt nod. "Proceed."

The Chameleon, standing beside Doom, smirked evilly. His eyes gleamed with a sinister amusement. "Achieve your goal, Electro. Failure is not an option. Do you understand?"

Electro met his gaze with fierce resolve. "Don't worry, sir. I don't intend to fail. I intend to win."

With a final nod from Dr. Doom, Electro turned on his heel and left the room. His footsteps echoed through the corridor of the Empire State Building as he made his way out, each step fueled by his determination to succeed. He headed straight for Chris Hilton's company, his mind focused on one goal: eliminating Chris Hilton once and for all.

Dr. Doom then turned to the Chameleon. "Now, Chameleon announce your goal first to them."

Chameleon nodded, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "Thank you, sir."

He picked up a megaphone, a unique device designed to be heard by everyone in New York City. This was no ordinary megaphone; it was engineered to carry his voice far and wide, ensuring that no one would miss his proclamation.

Raising the megaphone to his lips, Chameleon began his announcement. "Everyone in New York, listen!!!" His voice boomed across the city, capturing the attention of countless citizens. A sinister smile spread across his face as he continued, "I am the Chameleon. Remember this name. This name will mark history throughout New York. Cower in fear when you hear it," he laughed maniacally, "because I am going to cause riots throughout New York! And one last time, I am Chameleon!!!!!"

His laughter echoed through the city, leaving a trail of unease and fear in its wake. Chameleon's voice and message had reached the masses, setting the stage for the chaos he intended to unleash.

[Fantastic 4]

[Meanwhile, at the Fantastic Four's headquarters]

Reed Richards gathered his team, urgency in his voice. "Guys, we need to head to where those sounds are coming from."

The team members nodded in agreement.

Johnny Storm, known as the Human Torch, spoke up first. "From the sounds of it, it seems like it's just Chameleon."

Reed Richards shook his head, his expression serious. "No, it's not just Chameleon. Although his voice was prominent, I heard something else. It sounded like Dr. Doom's voice!"

Johnny's eyes widened in surprise. "What?"

Ben Grimm, the Thing, grunted. "If it's Dr. Doom, then New York is in deep trouble. I mean, world domination has always been his goal. He wants to be the ultimate ruler, to achieve what he calls 'peace'."

Reed nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "That's why we have to go there. Dr. Doom is our arch-nemesis, and we need to stop him." He glanced at Susan Storm, his wife, and said with determination, "Because it's our responsibility."

Susan returned his gaze, her eyes filled with resolve, and nodded in agreement.

Johnny then exclaimed, "What are we waiting for? Let's go kick his ass!"

With that, the Fantastic Four sprang into action. Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, led the way, his mind racing with strategies to counter whatever Dr. Doom and Chameleon had planned. Johnny ignited, flames enveloping his body as he prepared to take to the skies. Ben flexed his rocky muscles, ready for a brawl, and Susan, the Invisible Woman, steeled herself, ready to use her force fields to protect her team and the city.

They knew that facing Dr. Doom was never easy, but they were the Fantastic Four. Together, they had faced countless threats and always emerged victorious. This time would be no different. As they headed out, the determination to protect New York and stop their greatest enemy fueled their every step.

 ......

[X-men headquarters]

Cyclops glanced at Professor X, his visor reflecting concern. "Are we heading to that location, sir? Where the voice is coming from?"

Professor X shook his head gently. "No, we have other matters to attend to. Besides, the Fantastic Four are already en route."

Jean Grey, her voice tinged with worry, interjected, "Do you think the Fantastic Four could defeat Dr. Doom this time? From what I saw in my telepathic vision, Dr. Doom possesses some sort of dangerous item."

Professor X furrowed his brow in thought. "It's uncertain. However, the Fantastic Four are a formidable team, driven by a deep determination to save the world. And..." He turned his gaze to Jean Grey, his eyes conveying a sense of assurance. "...the Legendary Spider-Man and Spider Man Red will be there. I have faith in them. After all I've seen those two Spider-Men overcome many insurmountable odds and achieved the impossible."

Cyclops nodded in agreement. "Then we'll have to place our trust in them."

Wolverine, standing behind them, grumbled, "What are you three yapping about?"

Professor X smoothly changed the subject. "Nothing... By the way, have you located the mutant we were searching for?"

Wolverine nodded curtly. "He's already here, chatting with the others. That Cajun mutie gives me the creeps. Makes me want to teach him some manners."

Cyclops smirked, teasingly. "You're just jealous because he's better looking than you."

Wolverine snarled, his claws glinting. "How about I shut that mouth of yours, One-Eye?"

Cyclops grinned, unfazed. "Bring it on."

Jean Grey sighed, her patience waning. "Stop it, you two!"

Professor X intervened, steering the conversation back on track. "Let's focus. We need to meet our newest member, Remy LeBeau, also known as Gambit."

With that, the X-Men headed off, united in their mission to protect mutantkind and confront whatever threats lay ahead.

........

[Meanwhile Mark side]

Mark Taylor, known as Nightwing, and his girlfriend Emily Hawkins, also known as Lady Vamp, a hybrid of human and vampire, pressed on toward the source of the voice. Emily led the way, her heightened senses guiding them.

"Babe, we're almost there," Emily informed him.

Mark nodded, his expression growing serious. "Understood. This time, we'll catch that bastard Chameleon."

Suddenly, as they approached the location, they were met with a scene of chaos and terror. Civilians lay injured and frightened, while terrorists attacked innocent bystanders.

"Help!" cried a woman.

"Help us!" pleaded another girl.

"Heroes, please, please!" begged a man.

"Where is S.H.I.E.L.D.?" shouted another frantic man.

"Ahh!" screamed a boy.

One of the terrorists, a bald man, callously taunted a grieving mother holding her deceased baby. "Aw, your baby's dead. How about I kill you too?" he sneered.

The mother, tears streaming down her face, accused him, "You're a monster!"

The bald terrorist chuckled darkly. "Maybe I am a monster. But it's nothing personal. We're just getting paid to cause havoc in the city."

Mark, witnessing the atrocity unfold before him, couldn't contain his rage. "You bastard!" he shouted, lunging at the bald terrorist and delivering a powerful punch that sent him crashing to the ground, knocked out cold.

Meanwhile, Emily sprang into action, swiftly dispatching the other terrorists with her combat skills and supernatural abilities.

Mark turned to Emily, his eyes determined. "Change of plans. We need to deal with these terrorists first before we proceed."

Emily nodded in agreement. "Yes, babe."

Together, Nightwing and Lady Vamp stood ready to defend the innocent and confront any threat that dared to disturb the peace of their city.

 .......

[Meanwhile, with Phil and the other Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.]

Agent Phil Coulson, alongside Agent Al MacKenzie, Agent Maria Hill, and the other agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., engaged in a fierce battle on the streets of New York. They confronted the terrorists who were wreaking havoc and causing chaos throughout the city.

As they fought, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents worked tirelessly to rescue civilians caught in the crossfire, guiding them to safety amidst the mayhem.

"Move, move!" shouted a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, directing civilians to shelter.

"Take cover!" yelled another agent, urging people to find refuge from the violence.

"Shoot them!" the terrorists barked orders, their weapons blazing as they attempted to fend off the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

"Requesting backup! We're outnumbered!" Agent Phil exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice as he surveyed the overwhelming enemy forces.

Agent Al grimaced as he fired back at the terrorists. "Damn it! These bastards have no regard for human life!"

Agent Maria Hill remained composed amidst the chaos, her focus unwavering. "Let's concentrate on neutralizing these criminals," she ordered, her voice firm and authoritative.

Agent Phil and Agent Al nodded in agreement, acknowledging Agent Maria Hill's command. "Roger that, Ma'am," they responded in unison, their determination unyielding as they continued to battle the terrorists and protect the people of New York.

 .....

[Meanwhile Michael Wilson]

Kraven's laughter grated on my nerves, his mocking tone only fueling my determination. "He really fucking did it, brother," he sneered, his eyes locking onto mine with deadly intent. "Take this, Spider-Man!"

With reflexes honed by years of combat, I dodged his attack and delivered a powerful kick to his chest, sending him staggering back with a pained grunt.

"Aurg!!!" Kraven's cry echoed through the chaos, a testament to the force of my blow. But there was no time to dwell on his pain, not when the others were still on the prowl.

As Doctor Octopus unleashed another barrage of tentacles, I dodged and weaved through the onslaught. With precision timing, I launched a webbing attack aimed for his eyes. However, he deflected it with a quick flick of his tentacles.

But it was all part of the plan.

Using his momentary distraction to my advantage, I closed in swiftly, delivering a powerful kick to his chest. The force of the blow caused him to stumble backward, emitting a grunt of pain.

"Aurg!!!" Doctor Octopus' cry rang out, a mixture of frustration and agony. With one opponent momentarily subdued, I turned my attention to Taskmaster.

As Taskmaster continued firing arrows, I charged at him. Getting close, I spun quickly and delivered a strong kick to his stomach. He doubled over in pain, dropping his bow and rolling backward.

As the three villains stood up once more, their determination unwavering, my mind couldn't help but circle back to the Chameleon and his bold declaration. Even amidst the chaos of battle, his words echoed in my mind, a constant reminder of the dangerous game he was playing.

When I think about the Chameleon, I can't help but recall his tragic backstory. He's a man consumed by loneliness and plagued by insecurities, stemming from his abusive past and the shadow of his half-brother, Kraven. It's clear he harbors deep resentment toward his father and feelings of inadequacy compared to Kraven. And now, as I face off against Kraven and his cohorts, it's painfully apparent that family ties run deep in this battle.

The Chameleon's need for attention and recognition seems almost desperate, like a child craving approval. His announcement, "Remember my name, Chameleon," feels like a cry for validation, a bid to make his mark on the world. But behind his bravado, I see a wounded soul, someone trapped in a cycle of seeking validation from others.

In the end, the Chameleon may be a man in body, but his actions betray a childlike need for attention and acceptance. It's a sad reminder that even the most formidable villains are often driven by inner demons we can scarcely comprehend.

Then with the trio rising once more, their determination palpable, I pushed aside thoughts of the Chameleon, focusing solely on the task at hand. As they lunged toward me once more, their attacks relentless, I squared my shoulders and met their charge head-on.

"Bring it on!!" I roared, my voice a defiant challenge against the onslaught of villainy. In that moment, there was no room for doubt or hesitation, only the unwavering resolve to stand firm against whatever they threw my way.
