Lecturing The Growing Up Boys (Par7)

Liang Hongyu collected her thoughts and carefully avoiding touching Huo Tianzhou's injured area and instead feeling the bones underneath.

She casually asked, "Any other injuries from the fall?"

Huo Tianzhou shook his head slightly.

Liang Hongyu have seen how the doctors outside check people's bones, her gestures were calm and unhurried.

As she examined him, Huo Tianzhou couldn't help but glance up to take a closer look at Liang Hongyu.

After checking without issues related to bones, Liang Hongyu released Huo Tianzhou's hand.

"Until your hand heals, avoid lifting heavy objects," she reminded him.

She plugged the cork back into the porcelain bottle.

Seeing Huo Tianzhou nodded his head slightly after listening but clearly showed no intention to cooperate, Liang Hongyu stood up slowly and said casually, "If you're not concerned about this hand would causing you future problems, to the point where you couldn't even lift a bucket for water just now, then forget what I said."

This remark struck a nerve with Huo Tianzhou.

He hadn't realized his hand was injured when he fetched water earlier and had switched hands at the last minute.

He didn't expect Liang Hongyu to notice it, and his expression turned somewhat awkward as he averted his gaze.

Just as Liang Hongyu was about to remind him again to rest and use medication if it was needed without worrying too much, she remembered that their family was still in debts.

Liang Hongyu decided to stop there.

Clearing the debts was more urgent at the moment.

Once the water was boiling, Liang Hongyu went to the yard to prepare the pheasant and then took the mushrooms from her basket to wash them thoroughly.

Huo Tianzhou was in the chicken coop feeding the chickens.

Liang Hongyu noticed that he was very attentive to the two old hens.

He keep feeding them regularly even if he had to endure hunger himself.

She recalled that Huo Tianzhou's mother had bought those hens when they were just chicks and had raised them for several years.

Before going into the mountains, Liang Hongyu had considered slaughtering one of the old hens to make soup if she couldn't catch anything.

Now when she thought about it, she realized that Huo Tianzhou might have fought with her if she had done so.

After washing the mushrooms, she put them into the pot with the chicken to stew.

The seasonings were expensive these days, and the villagers usually used oil and salt sparingly.

In the kitchen, there was only a little bit of lard and salt, so Liang Hongyu threw in whatever she could find in the vegetable garden to make do.

After feeding the chickens and cleaning the coop, Huo Tianzhou worked in the vegetable garden for a while.

Then, he washed his hands and went to the kitchen to help, but seeing that there was nothing for him to do, he went to the woodshed to organize the unsold woven items that was piled up there.

The sun was setting, casting a half-circle in the sky.
