Chapter 207: The Marvelous Visitor

[3rd POV]

Preparing for Galactus was not all it was chalked up to be. It wasn't some terrifying project or some long lasting thing. It was a lot of very important tasks all being completed in tandem by tens of thousands of clones, all working together to make the weapons and defenses needed to properly square off with the Eater of Worlds.

The weapons and defenses in question were made of various materials all forged together in order to conduct at the maximum efficiency. With materials like Vibranium, Adamantium, Uru, and a few others all in the weapon.

The weapons in question weren't all cannons. There were weapons meant to transport and teleport the one blasted, teleporting them to the other side of the universe, and even into entirely different dimensions, effectively trapping the Eater of Worlds for a short amount of time.

There were weapons that would attack his very genetic makeup, and were meant to atomize and completely destroy an entity from the ground up. It wouldn't work on him, but it would certainly cause a lot of damage, and more than that, it would stall him enough for her to prepare the other weapons, should she need to.

The most important of them all, was a weapon that looked a bit like a satellite dish. Its ability and power was very very simple, but immensely powerful, and immensely versatile.

It had the ability to absorb energies of those it fires at. And with the way her clones were constantly working on improving it, it was likely that it would be able to absorb just about any energy in the universe, potentially even Power Cosmic. She hadn't been able to test that little fact, knowing that it wasn't an energy she could just mimic.

She had also made weapons that would induce hunger, illusions, cut off senses, overload senses, and a lot more. All of them being massive in size, with a huge AOE effect so that it would actually affect Galactus. That and it would be useful against large armies, should any ever get into the general vicinity of Earth.

Gwen planned on working with the Avengers in order to make some more weapons, mainly ones on Earth for the oncoming threat.

She had already warned the council of the coming of Galactus, and the fact that they may need to get Jean, Franklin, Nate, and the other high level Mutants to step in to help. Even Black Bolt and his counterparts would be useful in the fight, as a scream from him should be able to stagger the man, even if only slightly. But a scream from a dozen Black Bolts would do even more damage than that.

The preparation for Galactus was...likely not going to be enough, but it was a start, and that was good enough for now. At least until she gets into contact with the Avengers, and deals with getting the few resources that she needs that she couldn't just make, and didn't have.

At the moment Gwen was sat in her office, reading through the reports from the council in regards to the progress of the recruitment of Inhumans, which had been progressing smoothly. Attilan now housed well over 25,000 Inhumans and that number was rapidly increasing with every other Attilan moving there more and more.

The city itself had actually increased in size a few times, with Gwen permitting a few other Attilan to merge into the city, making it bigger and bigger. It wasn't as big as Malzif, not even close, but it was certainly far larger than before. With the new smaller cities fusing with her already created city, she was now gaining access to new forms of alien technology, some of which was quite interesting, and had been already used in several instances.

Reading the reports, Gwen hummed "An Attilan where the Inhumans have learned to harness magic? Even creating Magi-tech devices, a fusion of magic and science. Quite the interesting things they are, not much in comparison to what I can create, but...definitely better than I was expecting from them" Gwen said to herself, flipping through the pages that showed pictures of the wizard-like towers that were now in Attilan thanks to this new addition.

There were also pictures of their world, and the state of it. Which was quite interesting, as Earth in their world was a wasteland thanks to a world war that had torn the world apart through nuclear weaponry, and heroes involving themselves in the war.

It was a welcome addition, having magic users in her cities. As she had also been recruiting a number of mutant magic users, like an Ororo from another universe that specialized in magic, a Magik from another universe, and many others.

Finishing her reading of the report, Gwen gazed out of her window, and off into the distance, as a chuckle escaped her lips.

"Seems she's finally found this place. Better send the bots out to bring her to the council room, and call a meeting" Gwen said to herself, knowing this would cause some problems if she didn't tell them of it. Even if they all trusted her more than just about anyone else in the universe.

Gwen knew that Carol would find the city eventually, at least, if she let her. But she also knew that she would need the help of the Avengers in order to defeat the Eater of World, hence why she was undoing the wards that hid the city, and watched as Carol passed over the mountain range that surrounded the massive city (an artificial range that she made, that houses thousands of factories and other buildings too important to leave in the remainder of the city.

It was also where some of the ward stones that powered the wards are held, backups should the Eye of Harmony of the M'kraan crystal somehow fail.

Off in the distance, Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, was having a very confusing day.

It had started with the usual, beating up some bad guys on Earth, eating, and then going to Mars to look for this so called hidden Mutant city that Fury was certain was there. She was beginning to lose hope in all of this, as it had been months and there hadn't been any signs of them.

The Government was growing more and more furious at the lack of action, and the public had long since noticed the disappearances, and were in an outcry, with many of the missing people being children, entirely human, or being important members of their workplace.

But as Carol passed over a massive mountain range, her eyes shot wide, a gasp escaping her as out of nowhere, a massive glowing city appeared, as if it was hidden from her sight only moments before. A city that was far larger than any on Earth, floating monorails that transported around the city, flying cars, basically exactly what you'd think of when thinking of a city from the future.

She was almost immediately confused at this though. As she would have heard this place, or any of the monitoring systems that Stark had built would have found this place. And yet, she was only now staring down at it in confusion, especially once she noticed that there were also various figures flying through the skies of the city, as if that was normal.

Carol was cut from her thoughts as she noticed 5 robotic figures flying towards her.

"Halt, foreigner" The largest of the droids spoke, as she looked at it with narrowed eyes.

"What is this place? What are you?"

"You are intruding upon the lands of Malzif, the home of mutantkind. I am dreadclass droid 7734" The droid spoke, as her eyes widened, realizing that she had finally found the mutants that she had been looking for.

"You are instructed to follow us. The council has noticed your presence, and requires a meeting" 7734 spoke, as she looked at the large robot, wondering if she should do this, before slowly nodding, deciding that it was more important to figure out the way this city works before anything.

That and any weaknesses to it, should that ever be needed.

With that, Carol followed after the Droids, towards the council, unknowing of what this meeting would start.

For this was the beginning of something...incredible.
