Chapter 208: Carol Danvers

[3rd POV]

Flying through the skies of Malzif, Carol Danvers looked around in silent awe as she saw the streets littered with mutants of different shapes, sizes, and appearances. She looked around in awe at the technological advancements of the city below her, of the evident fact that the mutant city was so far beyond Earth, decades, if not hundreds of years beyond anything on Earth.

She noticed more and more droids in various areas, seemingly patrolling the city, keeping the peace. They were all different sizes, and most of them seemed to be of a similar make, but were made for different reasons and duties. 7734 was the largest and most intimidating looking droid she had seen so far, which was both a good thing and a bad thing.

'Fury was right...but this...this is way beyond anything any of us could ever have imagined' Carol thought, worried about how the Council on Earth would react, and what they would ask the Avengers to do. Even by looking around, she could tell that this place had little to no holes in security, with cameras and droids everywhere, even in the small alleyways and shops around the city.

Not to mention the sheer size of the city, and the fact that there was seemingly millions upon millions of mutants within the city, all of them possessing an inborn power, most of them being weak, but there were enough of them with powers that could cause harm, that Carol knew that any sort of plans they had with the city was...not a good idea.

"Where are we going?" Carol asked the droid as she flew behind it.

"The council chambers, where the leaders of the city convene to make decisions regarding the livelihood of the civilians. It is where you shall meet our creator, and the one who created this beloved city" 7734 replied, having enough "Emotions" within thanks to the advanced making of him, courtesy of Gwen.

"Who is your leader?" Carol asked in interest, as she hadn't heard the name yet.

"It is not our place to say. Now silence, we are arriving" 7734 ordered, as they all stopped in front of the massive building that housed the council, before walking through the front doors and into the building.

The first thing she noticed was dozens of droids walking around the place, security droids and simple droids that did the cleaning and such. All of them working 24/7 to keep the building safe, clean, and most of all, welcoming.

The walk through the building towards the council chambers lasted a few more minutes, before eventually, she stepped through a large double doorway, and into a room with a long circular table, with an opening at the back where you could step into the middle of the circle, a seat already there for her, there were also seats that were currently being inhabited by a total of 20 different people, and one final person at what seemed to be the head of the table. The largest of chairs, and more ornate than the others, being sat upon by the woman.

This was the council of Malzif, and the one at the head of the table, was the leader of Malzif and its creator. That much Carol understood, as she was directed into the chair in the middle, feeling slightly nervous upon looking at the figures around her.

"Carol Danvers, can't say I am surprised you are here" The voice of the woman at the head of the table said, as Carole looked at her, surprised. She seemed...young, as in, 19, maybe 20 years old. But she also seemed...dangerous, immensely so.

"You expected me?"

"Mmhmm, I knew about your little organization looking for my people, but I decided to just let you do your thing. I didn't fear retaliation so there was no reason to stop you. And now that you have found this place, we can have some proper talks with that leader of yours, especially with what is coming"

"...Can I at least know your name before we get into all of...this?"

"My name is Gwendolyn Wayne, but you may call me Gwen" Gwen said, as she looked at the woman in front of her. She was quite strong, but she could tell that she wasn't the brightest, and was very loyal to SHIELD and the American Government.

The latter of which would no doubt find out about this through her, if not by SHIELD and Fury himself. There was a reason why she disliked Carol, and that immense loyalty (even when they do wrong) was only one of the reasons.

"Well Gwen...why? Why did you take away all of the mutants on Earth? Why do all of this? Do you have any idea the amount of chaos you have caused down on Earth? The amount of problems?" Carol asked, growing irritated that she seemed so casual about this entire situation.

"Are you truly asking why I took them all away? Do you truly not understand the amount of horrid things that they had to go through? The racism, the harassment, the utter hatred that others held towards them simply because they-we were born different? Why should I care about the chaos of Earth, when humans have done nothing but destroy and kill and hate mutantkind?" Gwen replied, finding her question to be foolish, idiotic even.

"What about the humans you took?"

"They joined willingly, not out of threat, not out of fear, but because they wanted to follow their family here. And now they live amongst mutants, no racism, no hatred, just one large community that helps one another, and lives in peace" Gwen responded, as the council members stayed silent.

"But you can't just take millions of people! There are channels, what you're doing is illega-" "Illegal? We are not on Earth anymore, miss Danvers, the laws of Earth do not apply upon our planet. And yes, this is our planet, humans have no claim to Mars" Ororo said, looking at her with a narrowing of her eyes, not liking the thought process.

"That might be the case, but you cannot just do all of this without warning! The people that came here had jobs back on Earth! Some of them were politicians, people of incredible importance! And because they have disappeared, there are jobs that are not being done, jobs that only they can do!" Carol exclaimed, as Gwen snorted.

"Please. We both know that you have long since found replacements for them. You are grasping at straws to try and find a reason to take them from here, to start an argument or a fight between us and SHIELD. I'm not a fool" Gwen replied.

"I don't want to start a fight! I want you to explain your actions before the UN! To explain why you took those people to the people of Earth! To explain what this city is and how you made it!" Carol exclaimed, raising her voice, preparing to get to her feet, only for Gwen to flex her conquerors haki, forcing her back to the ground as she let out a shiver at the glare she was on the receiving end of, before listening to what Gwen had to say.

"What you want does not matter right now, Danvers. What matters is that something is coming, something that will need that little team of yours to work with us, at least, if we want to be able to defeat him without all dying a horrid death" Gwen said, as the woman frowned.

"What is coming? What is possibly so horrifying?"

Gwen said only one name, a name that caused Carol's eyes to widen, paling drastically as she knew the name. She had traveled amongst the stars, lived upon other planets. She knew of the stories, of the horror behind the mans actions, of the destruction and death left in his wake, and her heart dropped upon hearing it, knowing that what this was? This argument that was about to occur? It didn't matter, not anymore.

For the name was...

"Galactus...Galactus is coming"
