Chapter 36: Something amazing

Bank robberies are one of the most frequent crimes in comic books. Many heroes deal with robberies on a day-to-day basis.

If bank robbers were compared to monsters, they would be similar to a common monster like a slime.

Honestly, he thought those criminals were a bit crazy for robbing banks in the territory of superheroes.

Many believe that those in the comic world experience hardships due to constant mass destruction events. Every week, a new villain or enemy emerges, accompanied by a few lunatics with intentions to wreak havoc on the city or destroy the world.

Superheroes aren't always busy, but the ones who are have some kind of obsession and are active all the time.

Even with Batman in Gotham, robbing a bank is still risky because of all the active heroes there, but even then some robbers manage to succeed.

But criminals who try and rob banks in Metropolis are either mentally retarded or want a one-way trip to prison. With Superman's powers, any crime committed in his city would be swiftly dealt with.

In contrast to Marvel, where thousands of superheroes gather in New York like they have nowhere else to go, everyday criminals continue to thrive in this challenging environment.

It was the first time he encountered a real bank robbery after patrolling around the city, so he was a bit excited.

When Batman landed at a nearby observation point, he saw that a van had already crashed into the bank's main entrance. The armed guards were injured or dead, and the robbers had entered the vault.

Batman always avoids using the front door. He scans the building in detective mode and finds an unguarded side door. By picking the lock, he entered through the side door and guided Batman to a high vantage point using the grapple gun.

One important lesson he picked up recently is the importance of seizing the high ground. It allows for better visibility and planning without being easily detected.

There were six robbers, four of whom had guns. To add to the situation, fifteen hostages were there, and three of the robbers were keeping an eye on them.

Capturing six robbers is a piece of cake for Batman. The real challenge lies in ensuring the safety of the hostages.

Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm his nerves. It was clear to him that this wasn't a game where he could start over if he made a mistake.

The actions he will take next and his every move will directly affect the lives of those hostages. Once he was exposed during the operation, he would startle the enemy, or if he couldn't subdue all the criminals in one breath, someone might be injured.

His next steps and every decision will impact the hostages' lives. If he gets caught, he might startle the enemy, and if he can't take down all the criminals, the hostages could end up hurt.

He was playing Batman, not a member of a special forces team. If he had been, he would have entered through the main door and eliminated anything that was alive and moving. Some hostages may be sacrificed, but that is a sacrifice he was willing to make.

If he had been new to the game before, he might have chosen not to step in. But after practicing every night, he now feels completely confident in his ability to control Batman.

Using detective mode, he locates the positions of all the gangsters, which helps him plan his attack. He starts by taking out the three gangsters guarding the hostages.

Two out of three people carried guns, while one had a knife. The main focus was on the two armed individuals.

Batman swiftly shifted to a different position, concealing himself in the darkness. He carefully put together the pieces from his belt to create a black mechanical rifle.

Batman never uses guns, even though his weapons may resemble them. The rifle he carries is actually a weapon jammer, not a real gun.

The equipment can stop the guns after hitting them. It's a weapon that can disarm without causing harm. He's skilled at shooting. He aimed and threw two jamming darts at the robbers' guns.

The two robbers felt their guns shake a little. Before they could do anything, there were two loud bangs, and both guns blew up at once. The fire from the explosions shattered the guns and tore apart the robbers' hands, causing them to scream in pain.

The thieves were immediately on high alert. In an instant, the lights in the hall went out with a buzzing sound, leaving the bank in darkness.

The third armed robber on the other side felt his feet being grabbed and fell to the ground. The cable bound him, causing him to scream as he was pulled into the darkness towards the ceiling, disappearing into the dark.

Out of the four robbers with guns, only one was left standing.

As the last gunman hurried to reach the hostages, a dark figure with wings descended from above. Batman landed beside him and quickly disarmed him.

The gangster yelled, and the gun dropped to the floor. Batman then threw a punch at the robber's face, causing his nose to bleed, and he collapsed.

The other robbers, realizing what happened, quickly pulled out their knives and tried to grab the hostages to threaten Batman.

Batman skillfully disarmed the robber by throwing a batarang, making the knife drop to the ground. The robber cried out in pain, clutching his injured hand.

Batman swiftly took care of the robbers in a matter of seconds. When the lights turned on, the robbers were either unconscious or in pain, unable to move.

After a brief pause, the hostages stood up in turn, glanced around to confirm the situation was under control, and then let out a sigh of relief.

Right now, he had Batman stay on the bank roof to watch the scene before moving on. He wanted to ensure there were no other dangers. He looked at the crowd below and thought that a few of them looked familiar.

He activated detective mode and zoomed in on the crowd, focusing on the man's face. Wait, isn't that my friend from college?

Then he realized that the woman next to him appeared to be with him. She was nicely dressed and resembled his mother a little. He recalled meeting his mother before, and upon closer inspection, he realized it wasn't her.

He turned on the hearing enhancement feature out of curiosity to listen to their conversation.

The woman embraced his friend affectionately, assuring him, "There's no need to worry, dear; it's all finished now."

It seems that I accidentally saw something incredible.
