Chapter 49: Analyzing The Apartment Fight

"Done."

After making sure the smiling man's head was completely destroyed and he was dead, Chu Cheng let out a sigh of relief.

He knew it looked a bit crazy to see a guy holding a shield, falling from several stories, and doing a super hero landing, but he had his reasons.

Just like Captain America, who could free-fall without a parachute and land safely, Chu Cheng was confident in his jump from the six-story building. Captain America often did similar feats, and Chu Cheng felt this was nothing compared to that.

With the mission complete, Chu Cheng left the scene and logged off.

Now it was time to eat. After focusing so much on the game, he hadn't realized how hungry he was until he relaxed. He quickly grabbed his packed meal, eager to satisfy his hunger.

Secret Service Nine arrived quickly, sealed off the scene, and took control of the situation.

Felix was called back to headquarters right away.

What started as a simple investigation became more serious when it was discovered that Batman and a shield-wielding ally were involved.

The incident got extra attention because it might be linked to the recent laughing disaster, suggesting that the infection might still be a threat.

Normally, agents would submit their reports a few days after a mission. But given the new details, headquarters wanted an immediate update.

Chu Cheng, who was happily cooking at home, also received a message. He was told to hurry to headquarters to give his report. He was surprised when he got the news to make a report.

"A report? What do I have to report?" he thought.

All he had done was enjoy a fancy dinner, which seemed irrelevant. But he was just following orders, after all. If the captain told him to eat and drink well, he had to comply.

A car from the headquarters quickly arrived at his place. Chu Cheng got in, and soon he was back on the helicarrier he disliked, heading to meet the generous captain who had treated him.

Felix greeted him warmly and didn't seem upset about Chu Cheng's leisurely dinner. He even asked with a smile if the meal was to his liking.

Chu Cheng thanked Felix sincerely for his generosity, feeling grateful for the captain's kindness.

During the meeting, leadership didn't care much about the team's internal arrangements. Chu Cheng mostly observed quietly, while Felix made the report.

None of the leaders asked what Chu Cheng had done; they only cared about the results.

Just like before with Luo Yajun, Felix's video equipment had captured the entire battle. When they saw Batman drop a smoke bomb and disappear, all the experts looked at each other in confusion.

"What ability is this? Never heard of it!"

None of the known infected people had shown such powers. And didn't someone insist that Batman was just an ordinary person?

Everyone turned to Professor Miyazaki for answers.

Now all eyes shifted to the Minister of the Equipment Department.

Minister Shi rolled his eyes and said, "The Equipment Department handles equipment, not magic. Do you think we have this kind of technology?"

The discussion led nowhere. Then, Captain America appeared in the video, and the experts were shocked again.

In recent days, rumors about other mysterious heroes besides Batman have been spreading in the city. Some were true, others were just enthusiastic citizens imitating the heroes, so the authenticity of these reports was always in question. There was no clear link between these separate events.

Now, the chairman knew their suspicions were right.

Batman wasn't working alone. There was a powerful, secret organization behind him. This group had incredible strength and advanced technology. This was more serious than just one armored knight.

An individual can be strong, but they have limits. An organization, however, is a different story. If you can beat one member, more will come. Who can stand against that?

The leaders quickly discussed their theories. Some thought the organization was ancient and powerful. Others believed it might be alien. They all agreed it was a huge and mysterious group with unknown goals and immense strength.

Chu Cheng quietly listened to their guesses. He found it amusing. There was a mysterious organization, but it wasn't as grand as they thought. He was the only member.

He didn't have to go out himself. The hero projections mainly did the fieldwork, while he controlled it remotely from the comfort of his home.

To everyone else, the performance of the hero projections in this mission was mind-blowing.

Especially after seeing that he was almost unharmed after getting hit by a rocket. The number of people with special abilities is very low, but not zero. Still, it's rare to see someone take a rocket head-on and look fine.

"That shield," Professor Hines noticed something and frowned. "It doesn't even have a scratch."

Everyone else noticed this too, and they were all shocked.

The shield was thin and light, yet it withstood a rocket without a scratch. If someone had proposed such material without proof, they'd be considered crazy.

But assuming the material is real, what about the rocket's kinetic energy? Where did it go?

The whole room was blown up by the impact, and the shock wave nearly lifted the roof. Yet the man holding the shield was the only thing left standing in the dust, like he had set off a firework. No one could understand how he was so durable.

Then, they saw the man with the shield throw the smiling man down from the sixth floor with just a few punches and kicks. When he was done, he jumped down after him without hesitation.

Everyone was shocked. If Batman seemed like a mage in a tech suit before, this guy was a pure warrior, tough and powerful—a real bruiser.

Seeing how everyone reacted to Captain America, Chu Cheng couldn't help but imagine what would happen if someone like Superman showed up. People might just lose their minds!
