Chapter 51: Dinnertime Pulls

Luo Yajun was lying on his back on the black bench press rack, pushing an 880-pound barbell towards the ceiling. Sweat slid down his tense muscles.

A bench press over 660 pounds is already impressive for ordinary people, and even the Marvel team next door benches about 1,200 pounds. Lifting close to 900 pounds is quite a feat, even for someone extraordinary like Luo Yajun.

But he enjoys it. He pushes his strength to the limit, squeezing out every bit of potential from his cells, keeping his muscles and spirit on the edge. Each time, he forces himself to go a little further beyond his limits.

This intense training keeps him in top shape, ensuring that every criminal he encounters gets the "VIP" experience from the hospital to the morgue.

While exercising, his eyes were fixed on a photo he had posted on the ceiling: Batman.

The pixels weren't clear, but it was the best quality image he could find and process. In fact, Agent Luo's collection included more than just this one photo. Various pictures of Batman covered the walls of his small room.

Some showed Batman fighting, some showed him leaping across rooftops. Most were blurry and unclear, and you couldn't even be sure if they were of a real person or a movie character.

Clang!

It was the sound of the barbell hitting the bench press rack. Luo Yajun got up, grabbed a bottle of water from the table beside him, and took a big gulp. His exceptional physical fitness allowed his muscles to recover quickly.

He glanced at the TV and saw a news program on. Reaching for the remote, he turned up the volume.

On the screen, a female reporter stood in front of an apartment building, holding a microphone and reporting.

"An eyewitness stated that he saw a laughing man fall from a tall building, followed by a masked man with a shield who also jumped down and hit the man on the head.

Authorities have confirmed that the laughing man was severely infected but had no comment on the identity of the shield-wielding man.

There is also reliable information that Batman is involved in this incident..."

Luo Yajun narrowed his eyes. He looked at the photo hanging on the wall next to him, staring intently at the blurry figure of Batman captured in the image.

Chu Cheng caught a ride home with Felix and sneezed heavily as soon as he got out of the car. He rubbed his nose, recalling the old saying that sneezing means someone is thinking about you or talking about you. He wondered if some neighborhood aunt was thinking about his handsome face.

Opening the door and checking his phone, he saw a bunch of unread messages from his good friend Wei Futong, who seemed to need help with his homework for tomorrow's class.

Chu Cheng replied, saying he'd send a picture as soon as he got out of the car.

Unexpectedly, Wei Futong immediately smelled gossip: "Worn out again?"

Chu Cheng was surprised. He was tired from dealing with a ghoul in women's clothing and then being summoned to a meeting room right after dinner.

How did Wei Futong know?

But then he saw a smirking "I understand" emoji and realized Wei Futong had misunderstood the situation.

Some people always think the worst of others. Just as some see everyone as a schemer, Wei Futong, always suspicious, saw everyone as having a hidden agenda. Sometimes the way we perceive the world can change based on our own biases and assumptions.

Ignoreing the nonsense. Chu Cheng went back and sent Wei Futong a photo of the homework that he had done during class. After receiving a wave of thanks from his good brothers and an UP in favorability, Chu Cheng quickly sat back in front of the computer.

He just left in a hurry and was called to headquarters before he finished his meal, so when he came back, his prioritys incudled finishing his dinner and of course, to pull on the summoning circlie.

Tonight was busy with him dealing with two strong monsters. Coupled with the minions and wild monsters from a few nights before, now he has saved up a ten pull, four-shot single draws, and three C-level hero coupons.

A total of seventeen puls.

Seventeen pulls not too many at all, so why not eat and use his pulls?

Immediately afterwards he got ten pulls of "NOthing" .

With four pulls left to draw and three coupons to count, Chu Cheng's hand holding the mouse to pull began to tremble a little.

He gradually began to feel that this painful card pool didn't even guarantee basic items or pity.

The next four pulls went by slowly when suddenly on one of the pulls a blonde beauty appeared.

It was the Marvel superhero known as Black Widow. But this wasn't the famous Natasha Romanov. This was Yelena Belova, Natasha's sister, from the "Black Widow" movie.

Yelena also came from the "Red Room," an organization that produces Black Widow agents. So, her physical abilities were close to Natasha's, making her a formidable fighter.

However, compared to most heroes in the C-tier category, she wasn't quite on Batman's level. Her main advantage seemed to be her beuty.

Chu Cheng felt frustrated. What's up with this messed-up card pool? First, he got Huntress, then Erica, Black Cat, and now Black Widow. Their abilities weren't special, and their costumes were skimpy. It seemed like the focus was more on their looks than their hero skills.

He realized that he was naive to think that Marvel and DC were different from other flashy franchises. These two have been using sex appeal since the last century.

Chu Cheng redeemed his last three coupons and took a deep breath.

"Can you give me a strong hero?"

Then, as if answering his plea, the next single draw burst with vibrant light effects. A red-clad figure with horns on his helmet appeared on the screen.

It was Matt Murdock, known as Daredevil, the fearless defender of Hell's Kitchen.
