Chapter 98: Moon Knight Arrives

The masked man walked slowly down the metal hallway, moving from room to room and entering the large ship as if it were empty.

He believed that dreams were magical. They're invisible and intangible, but they exist. They pull fragments from memories, create scenes that feel incredibly real, and slip away just when you think you've grasped them.

Dreams are elusive and can't be caught. You try to see them clearly, but they always shift and change.

So the masked man thought dreams were unbeatable.

He reached the door of the command room, stopped, and said softly, "Open Sesame."

The door slid open with clatter, and he twirled his cane and walked in confidently.

In dreams, anything is possible.

He was a master of dreams, a dream walker, and the world was supposed to obey him.

By now, the infected people who had invaded the command room were nearly all gone. The agents there had special abilities, so they were able to handle the threat.

The last infected person fell, shot in the head, and the agents quickly returned to their posts to restore communication and control. They especially needed to reconnect with the chairman.

The screen showing Li Changcheng went dark. With the invasion of the mothership, no one knew where he might be on the ship or if he was already surrounded.

Suddenly, someone noticed a problem with the command-room system.

"The third entrance to the command room is open!"

The command room had been locked down once the intrusion was detected, and all entrances were supposed to be closed. The agents looked toward the third entrance and saw Dreamwalker.

"Intruder!" someone shouted.

An agent fired at him, but the bullet spun mid-air and hit another agent instead.

Fearing the intruder, no one wanted to shoot recklessly.

An agent leaped off the bridge to tackle Dreamwalker, but as he did, the metal railing behind him twisted and wrapped around him like steel ropes, trapping him.

Another agent was caught by wires that suddenly dropped from the ceiling, pulling him up and hanging him upside down.

As an agent approached Dreamwalker, he vanished. The agent turned to see that all the other agents on the bridge had become masked figures. The masked figures snapped their fingers, and the floor beneath the agent disappeared, causing him to fall with a scream.

"Everyone, calm down!" an agent shouted. "The enemy's power is to create dreams—they're all false illusions... Ugh!"

Before he could finish, the windshield behind him exploded. It seemed an invisible force dragged him and the other agents out of the cabin, sending them plummeting.

"Maybe," Dreamwalker chuckled. "But who can tell the difference between dreams and reality?"

It might be a dream, a mere illusion. But with how real it feels, it's like being trapped in a vortex called "reality," with no way to escape.

Dreamwalker leaned on his cane and looked around, disappointed. "So, the chairman isn't here? I was hoping for a chat, but..."

Clatter.

A piece of the windshield shattered. A figure in white descended from the sky, his cape flowing like a crescent moon, kicking toward Dreamwalker.

Dreamwalker knew that the broken windshield was just an illusion, but this moment was real. Someone was actually smashing through the mothership's windshield from outside, thousands of feet in the air.

His first thought was that it was completely unscientific.

Instinctively, Dreamwalker swung his cane and blocked the kick. The impact was so powerful that it felt like his bones were vibrating.

He crashed into a wall-mounted screen a few feet away, which shattered, sending glass shards into his skin.

Moon Knight landed in the center of the room in a half-squat, then stood up like a warrior. The agents stared in shock, unsure what was happening.

The Secret Service agents knew they were trapped in a dream created by the masked man in front of them. According to their logic, since it's a dream, the scene of Moon Knight kicking in through the windshield should be an illusion, right?

But if it's real, then how did this wrapped-up superhero kick through the windshield from thousands of feet up?

The agents were stunned, unable to tell what was real and what wasn't.

The Moon Knight does have the power to fly with the Moon God's protection, but Chu Cheng, who is the Moon Knight's stand-in, cannot fly. So, it wasn't really Chu Cheng who soared into the air. Batman, using his Batplane, flew up, switched into Moon Knight's role, and made a dramatic superhero landing.

Next, a repeat of the previous night's battle began.

Dreamwalker, not believing in defeat, tried his dream abilities again. The command room was filled with swirling screens and cables sparking like poisonous snakes.

But it was useless.

Ignoring the flashy effects, Moon Knight delivered a solid left uppercut, nearly toppling Dreamwalker.

While being beaten, Dreamwalker muttered, "You must think you've cracked the secret of dreams, that you've seen their essence."

He couldn't finish his sentence because Moon Knight delivered a crushing knee to his abdomen, almost destroying his internal organs.

Dreamwalker, hitting the metal wall hard, looked embarrassed but continued to chuckle. "You underestimate dreams. What you're fighting now is just a nightmare I created. But... what if it's your own nightmare?"
