Chapter 109: End Of Gang Ambush

As a seasoned gamer—and a bit of a loner—Chu Cheng wasn't great at talking to people. Since childhood, he'd been more comfortable with video games than real-life interactions.

Even in competitive games, he struggled to talk to teammates. So, focusing on playing while also trash-talking was a huge challenge for him.

But it didn't matter much. Spider-Man, on the other hand, was pro at handling this.

Spider-Man's constant talking was just a part of his character. From the moment Chu Cheng started the game, Spider-Man wouldn't stop chattering.

Chu Cheng didn't know why Spider-Man talked so much. Not only was he fast with his words, but he also talked to himself when he was alone, even while swinging through the city. If his comments were written out like comic book text bubbles, they would flood the screen.

So, opponents facing Spider-Man not only had to deal with his spider powers but also his endless chatter. Officially, Spider-Man's talking was considered part of his character and is useful against tough enemies who couldn't handle his constant talking.

The downside was that Spider-Man's endless talking could also annoy teammates. Once he started, there was no stopping him, and he'd keep on, making it tough for both enemies and allies.

Chu Cheng noticed there was still an enemy left and wanted to finish them off. Based on his years of gaming experience, he knew this enemy was likely a tough one, so he didn't want to miss out on the experience points.

Then he saw Spider-Man leap into action. Using his jumping skills, Spider-Man reached heights that were hard to believe. He shot a web and quickly climbed to the top of the car that was being used to escape.

Even though Chu Cheng didn't fully understand Spider-Man's web abilities or how he moved so fast, it was clear to the criminals.

This superhero could dodge, fight, and move at incredible speeds, so catching up to a speeding car was easy.

Realizing they couldn't fight or outrun Spider-Man, the gangsters felt utterly defeated. From the moment Spider-Man landed, they felt like they were just waiting to be taken down.

The gangsters, already on edge, were left in shock as their hopes were crushed. They felt like their luck had run out, and they were helpless.

But the most surprising part was yet to come.

"Meow!"

As Spider-Man landed on the car roof, an alert appeared on Chu Cheng's screen. It was a wild cat, maybe searching through nearby trash cans, that crossed in front of the car.

Chu Cheng initially missed the cat; it was Spider-Man who spotted it and gave a quick tip. Spider-Man's sharp senses alerted Chu Cheng of the animal he missed, showing his skill and quick judgment.

Unlike traditional games, this one clearly tells you what to do and how to do it. It gives you prompts for actions through different methods, like Batman's detective mode, the character's inner thoughts, or quick-time events (QTE) when things get urgent.

However, these prompts are just suggestions. You don't have to follow them to win. You can ignore them and do things your own way if you prefer.

Right now, Chu Cheng's screen showed a QTE prompt.

QTEs require you to quickly press buttons that appear on the screen within a short time. For Spider-Man, known for his agility and quick reflexes, QTEs are common. They let you perform amazing moves that are tough to do with regular controls, which is a big draw for Spider-Man games.

As a skilled player and trusting Spider-Man's quick reflexes, Chu Cheng hit the QTE button as soon as it appeared.

The first prompt was to press the arrow key followed by the space bar. The moment he hit the space bar, Spider-Man leaped off the car roof and did a stunning backflip that even professional athletes would admire.

While Spider-Man was in the air, the screen showed prompts to click on the car's wheels and driver's seat. Chu Cheng quickly moved the mouse to click these spots.

Spider-Man shot out two spider webs that grabbed the spinning wheels. The wheels were locked, causing the car to flip over.

The final prompt was the "E" key. Spider-Man landed smoothly in front of a stray cat, catching the giant tool cart on his back. He held it effortlessly and even joked with the cat, "Hi, little buddy. How's it going?"

The black cat meowed, flicked its tail, and ran off.

Spider-Man shrugged but he didn't mind. He casually tossed the car he was holding onto the ground, as if it were just trash.

The gangsters behind him were frozen in shock.

They felt a strange ache in their stomachs and confusion in their heads, like their eyes or brains weren't working right. They couldn't figure out how Spider-Man had done it. The whole thing happened too fast for them to follow.

All they saw was Spider-Man making a car spin around and then jumping down to carry a guy on his shoulders. This sight crushed any hope they had of escaping. Many of them dropped their guns and prepared to surrender. Deep doubts began to settle in their minds.

Why did I even point a gun at this guy? How am I still alive?

Spider-Man walked over to the car, easily peeled off the driver's door like it was made of paper, and tossed it aside.

The door panel flew toward a group of gangsters, making them tremble and hold their breath in fear.

One gangster, who hadn't buckled his seatbelt and had fallen in the car, tumbled out with a bruised face as soon as the door was removed. He fell out, raising his hands in surrender and smelling badly. He was so scared he wet himself.

The big bosses watching from above weren't scared of peeing their pants, but they were starting to doubt the whole operation.

Who was the genius who thought attacking this monster was a good idea?

Someone had said before that these masked heroes were just ordinary people, not to be feared. Ordinary people? This guy who can dodge bullets and lift cars with his bare hands?

Everyone looked at Chai Yanluo, who remained silent and met the eyes of his teammates. They all read the same message in each other's looks:

—We're done for. If we can't beat it, we need to run!

As leaders of the gangs tried to escape, they turned around only to find Batman standing behind them, staring right at them.
