The Black Island-1

I dont fucking like it. I just dont, Arun thought as he stared at the puddle before him.

It was not a normal puddle, from what it could see, it was formed because of a footprint of a monster. The concerning part was the size and the depth of the puddle. From the size of a footprint, he could tell that the monster was big, and based on the depth of the puddle, he could only imagine the size of the thing. It was bigger than the giant ass porcupine that he saw way back.

There was no way that he would have been able to defeat that porcupine, but based on his current speed and the dense jungle, he believed that he would have been able to run away from it at least. But this one, he was not sure. From the footprints, it was clear that the being was bipedal, and with a body this huge, there was a chance that it could run a hell of a faster as well. He didnt know whether he would be able to outrun it or not.

Also, what kind of creature is this? The footprints remind me of a chicken, a giant ass chicken. But what could this creature be?

After staring at the footprints for a few seconds, he took out the magic powder that he brought from the shop. This brown powder, when rubbed all around the body and clothes, the powder erases the natural scent of the place that it had been applied. He didnt know whether this creature would have a good sense of smell or not, but he was not taking any chances.

After rubbing the powder, he started moving again…

It took Arun around three days, after which he was finally able to reach the edge of the continent again. In that time he faced many sorts of creatures, from acid-spitting slugs to what looked darts throwing flowers. It was a crazy bunch of monsters. He encountered some beasts along the way as well, but luckily he didnt come across anything big and scary that he couldnt take care of.

The good news was, after roaming all around the place for three days, he was finally able to see the target that he had been looking for. He had in his sights, the Forbidden Island. And it was as scary as the locals of the Lando described it to him.

From the setting sun, he couldnt any clearly about the island, but was as barren as he he had heard. He couldnt see any shred of greenery on the damn thing. There was a rope bridge to the island, which would make it easier for Arun to transverse.

There was something about that island, that he couldnt put his finger on, which was creeping the hell out of him. He was not scared of the island itself, but just by looking at it, goosebumps were rising on his hands and legs. It was a weird feeling.

I think I should camp here at night. This should be a safe place, considering monsters run away just by one look at the place. And I could use some rest. Another reason for making the camp there was, that he didnt want to go to that creepy place in the dark.

He made a camp, lit a fire, sat down that night looking at he island. He was still getting that creepy feeling just by staying there.

Speaking of creepy, how much have I leveled up recently? I remember reaching like level-21 after the dungeon, what about now? Immidately he ordered his status to be opened before him.

Hmm? What the fuck? My stat points should be 80 right? I have leveled up ten times after all.

After doing quick math, he realized that after the initial 20 levels, the stat points yield had decreased from seven to eight.

So I were to assume that this would happen after every 20-level increase, then it would mean that absorbing mana from the stones would be more beneficial for me.

Not thinking about it much, he then proceeded to distribute the stat points.

After the fight in the dungeon, he started to understand his fighting style more. Arcance and Endurance hold higher value in his fighting style than strength and Dexterity. He allotted 20 stat points to his vigor, after seeing its effect in the dungeon. If he were to to stuck in a situation with no healing potion, then it made sense to have high Vigor.

Statifished with stat points, he closed every single one of his system menus and went to sleep…

No monster or beast came to his camp during the night, which meant that he was able to sleep quite peacefully. Thus, he woke up early in the morning, got fresh, and went to the bridge that would lead him to the Island.

Well, this is quite surprising, he thought as he came to the bridge, this looks sturdy and in good condition. The wooden planks seem that they had been recently replaced as if someone had been taking care of them.

He knew that no local from Lando would travel this deep in the forest, just to take care of the bridge. So the question was, who were the people that were taking care of it? Thinking that it was better to be careful, he upped his guard and went ahead.
