I looked at the smoking palace I'd come out of a few minutes ago, hummed and inhaled deeply, trying to smell as many odours as I could.

Found it. He's walking through the maze, straight for Akame's exit. Smirking, looking at the setting sun. I've got about 15 minutes left, but that should be enough time. Laura, is rushing towards me now, having smelled the scent, so it's fine to wait for her.

It's strange... I suddenly became very sad. This is it. My journey is coming to an end, and it's unlikely to ever continue, no matter how much I don't want it to.

Shaking my head, I pushed those thoughts away for later, looking at the joyful Laura running towards me. We were standing in the square, right in front of the palace.

- Kaneki, we-" she started cheerfully, but I lunged to meet her, grabbing the girl by the throat.

- I'm sorry. - I whispered softly, creating spikes that grew out of my palm and pierced Laura's neck. An instant and it disintegrated into a bloody blur, retracting into my hand.

That was it... My heart felt unusually sour. To take advantage of my comrades like that, just for the sake of my own desires before, one might say, death.

With a sigh, I sped off at full speed towards Akame. I need to absorb Charizard to make sure there are no more research stashes. Though, that wouldn't make a difference anymore. It was rather necessary for my own peace of mind.

A couple of minutes and I'm already standing next to Akame. Tatsumi, she decided not to take, saying he was still too inexperienced.

- He's coming this way, isn't he? - Akame asked, calmly reacting to my appearance.

- Yes... It's getting quite close. - I replied with a tired sigh. For some reason, I was starting to feel sleepy, which was a need I didn't have. Or is it just from the realisation of the imminent end? I'm really going to die. The chance of me defeating my soon-to-be opponent is very slim. If I was with magic, and on physics alone... I won't be able to defeat him. Not a person of such a suit of strength.

Slowly, loud, rapid footsteps began to build up, coming from a small crevice in the moss-covered door.

- He's already here. - I smiled slightly.

The hatch swung open, revealing to my gaze the terrified look on Charizard's face... there he saw us, and desperation froze in his eyes. I, silently releasing four tentacles of my rinkaku, instantly pierced through his chest, concurrently penetrating about four, magical shields that appeared, from artefacts. A second, and a bunch of memories float before my eyes again, but nothing I didn't know was there.

- So... it's over after all... Heh... Hee-hee... Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!! Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha! - I started laughing tiredly out of the blue.

- Kaneki? - Akame said worriedly.

- 'You know, Akame...' I said with a chuckle. - Tatsumi is a pretty good person. He's good for you, in a way. My last wishes, would be this: Give him Incursio, try to love him, and start living a peaceful life. And... also tell the boys I said goodbye. We'll never meet again, and I only have a few minutes of time left.

- Ka... neki? - the girl asked in confusion. - What do you mean?

- I'm... going to my homeland. I've been planning it for almost a year now, and it's only a matter of time before I go. - I decided not to say that I would die on the way to the homeland. It's better that way.

- What are you talking about? Is..." Akame said dumbfounded.

- Lastly, I'll say this. - I smiled slightly. - I love you.

I abruptly tore towards the girl, breaking into her with one last kiss, simultaneously putting her to sleep as I had done with Esdes. Gently placing Akame's sleeping body on the ground, I grinned, looking up at the moon already beginning to appear.

- Goodbye.

And I was swallowed up by the darkness.

I opened my eyes abruptly, feeling the grass beneath me. I looked up, seeing a green valley with a forest nearby. The walls of a city, vaguely familiar to me, loomed in the distance.

- Well, hello. - I heard a painfully familiar voice on my left.

Turning my head, I saw a black-haired figure wrapped in a black cloak, turtleneck and jeans. Scarlet eyes looked at me with anticipation, and the guy himself was sitting on a small rock.

- Kaneki Ken. - He nodded slightly at me. I grinned slightly, standing up to my full height.

- Waldemar. - A similar nod followed from me. - I wonder who you are to me? A brother? Father?

- Probably none. - My companion cringed in disgust as he imagined the picture I was describing.

- Hm... You know why I'm here, don't you?

- Yes. - Waldemar's smile faded a little, and he stood up to his full height, looking at me seriously. - And there will be only one left. - he smiled a little. - That's what HE told me.

- This is Magnolia, isn't it? - Nodding at the city, I asked.

- That's right. Except... A lot has happened in those ten years. - the guy grimaced. - Mira's in a coma that she'll never get out of, Lucy's dead as well as Makarov and Gray, Happy got eaten a couple of years ago, and Natsu left the guild shortly after that. Of the canon team, only Elsa is left.

- It's not rosy. - I shrugged, feeling nothing inwardly from the news. - You know, before we begin... I'd like to ask two things. Do you know what's going on with the Second?

- Dead. - Waldemar answered immediately. - His memory, came to me a couple of years ago. He went mad, and as a result, he went to war, one against all. A war against one man... He managed to kill many. By the way, it started after the Three Factions Council. He was able to get rid of Rias' demonic leash by becoming human again, but his power didn't go away. He kept building it up and ended up straying from the path of pure reason. Do you know anything about the First? Because all I know is that he disappeared at some point.

- Dead. His soul came to me. - I shrugged. - By the way about the second question... do you remember our family?

- Heh..." Valdemar grinned. - I somehow knew you'd ask that, even though we've been very different people for a long time... Well, I'll answer, for me, it seems like a much less distant memory. Our mother's name was Olga, she was 41 when we were brought here. My father, Alexander, was 45. And my little sister, Yulia, was 16. We were 24.

- I see. How did you get here?

- Hit by a car. - shrugged his shoulders.

- I see... Then shall we start?

- Here we go. - He nodded, stretching his shoulders.

We sped towards each other, and I was much faster. I don't know why, but as soon as I was in this world, all my senses were heightened. Perhaps it's because of the magical background, which is much higher than in Akame's world.

From the side, huge, black spheres fly at me, but I close with my kagune. Releasing my kakuja, gaining armour and transforming my hands into a whip and blade. With the whip, Valdemar dodges, sending several bombs at me. I jump away from them, closing in sharply on my opponent and deliver a chopping blow that goes nowhere.

- I lose. - whispered Valdemar. In that instant, everything around me exploded in flames and pain flooded my consciousness. I could no longer see. I could no longer hear. Only a slight chill began to run through my body. Hmmm... So this is it? Death? Or am I just going to become one with Waldemar without feeling anything?

Suddenly, the pain disappears, I suddenly start to feel the power that is hidden in the world around me, and my body overflows with POWER, forcing me to raise my rapidly recovering eyes to the surprised Waldemar standing next to me.

- Your energy channels have developed so quickly... No, they're rather awake... Damn, I should take you to the lab instead of frying you! - increasingly surprised, said Valdemar, towards the end a little cheerfully, clearly going to put the fire away, clearly thinking that it was causing me a lot of damage.

My hand came up sharply, hooking into Valdemar's ankle.

- These channels-" I grinned. - Of the fiery dragon slayer!

In the eyes of my opponent, a look of surprise began to appear when he saw my hand with which I touched his body.

- And you're dying today! - I roared, devouring his body with my best efforts.

I spent nearly a minute doing this, digesting the vast reserve of memory, abilities, and mana. The reserve returned again, powerful magical channels were rapidly forming in my body, and magical vision flashed in my eyes.

I slowly collapsed, falling into the Darkness once more.

***

Opening my eyes, I found myself once again in the Darkness. However, there were 6 different coloured doors with signs on them. They read:

"Fey's Tail."

"The Last Seraphim."

"High School Demons"

"Tokyo Ghoul."

"Louise's Handmaiden"

"Akame Killer."

A bit away from them, there was another one, white, with a small bloodstain on the lower right edge. Um... And what's that?

"This is a world that is unfamiliar to you.". - came the familiar voice of God in my head. - "That's where my... shall we say, favourite."

- I see," I nodded.

I walked over to the blue door, labelled 'The Last Seraphim', and grinned slightly as I opened it. Inside was a white light, which I stepped into without hesitation.

***

- All right, then. I'll see you later then. - Issei said, disappearing into a black portal that appeared out of nowhere.

However, Akemi was not surprised by such a trick. Must be something from magic, since this guy is Yui's brother... But still, we'll have to have a chat with him later....

With those thoughts, Akemi got up from the couch, walking out onto the balcony, which was currently lit by the full moon. Leaning on the railing, she looked out at the night life of the city with a sigh.

- I believe..." she whispered. - That someday you'll come back... After all, you couldn't leave me.....

- Hm... you could. - A voice sounded behind her and she turned around, cursing herself for not keeping an eye on the background.

Standing in front of her, leaning on the balcony doorjamb, was a white-haired guy wearing a blue cloak over what appeared to be a waiter's suit.

- Who are you?" she asked warily, tensing imperceptibly for an attack.

- Didn't recognise your teacher? - The guy sniggered, instantly throwing off the girl's mood, putting her in a dazed state. - It's understandable, though. I'm not really him.

- Who are you?" Akemi repeated her question.

- Kaneki Ken. One of the two brothers of Yuichiro Blutege, whose soul is now merged with mine. He died after that battle, by the way.

- You... - Akemi started to get angry, realising that her guest was talking nonsense.

- I am him. His soul, merged with mine as a very similar one, all his memories and skills have been passed on to me... And you know, Akemi, I wanted to tell you not to look for him. He is in me, and my other brother Issei, who just visited you, is already dead, but his soul has returned to our... father.

- You...

- I'm leaving now. I suggest you take my advice. - Kaneki shook his head, instantly disappearing as if he was never there, leaving the young vampire queen alone once again.
