After a while...

Funny... this 'favourite', quite a nice man, however he must have killed a lot. You can tell by the look of him.

That's all. I've achieved what I've longed for. Power, knowledge and family. But the price was also great. Travelling through time and space, falling into madness time after time to start anew, I was slowly sinking into the interworld, losing what I should have always remembered.

To be honest, I don't know my name. There were many, and each one of them, associated by those around me with a savage, bloodthirsty monster. But did I want it? I don't know. I guess it all started with those books. The books that were brought by... what was his name... I think it was Galmar, though I could be wrong. When I discovered magic, I got what almost every Earthling wants, but...

I'm a loser, aren't I? If it weren't for the rush, I wouldn't have to suffer from insanity. I remember Makarov saying that power follows responsibility, but everyone has a limit to what they can take. I've taken more than that. Or rather, I managed to cross that line fast enough not to suffer the consequences. Except that they came from the very speed of building up the power.

I mean, a lot of people would give their souls just to have fun with Natsu and Lucy and the other Feys in reality, but me... I was different. All my humanity was gone. And in the end, only loneliness could restore it. Then, on my way there were several paths, but I cheated and went on four at once. And what did that lead to? Only that I ended up back where I started. Complete solitude and the right to go wherever I want.

But unlike back then, I know exactly where I'm going. Somewhere where I'm really welcome. Heh... You could even say there'll be people who actually know me. Because I've killed everyone. And now there's only one road ahead of me. Behind lies the world that belongs to Akame, and ahead... the world that belongs to me. On the one hand, the choice isn't so hard, with four loving girls waiting for me in Akame versus one in Tokyo. But Tokyo's still a lot of work to do. To teach Arima a lesson, to avenge all the Ghouls who died... And the world itself is much more interesting... Or rather, calmer.

I opened my eyes, finding myself in the same darkness. Now, however, there were two doors in front of me. One was labelled 'Akame Killer' and the other 'Tokyo Ghoul'.

I slowly, tiredly approached Akame's door and opened it slightly. A view of the Capital with smoke coming from the palace appeared before me.

I was tired. Very tired. My consciousness is already running low, on the verge of exhaustion. However, what will happen when my strength finally leaves me? Do I die? Or do I just lie down to rest and then start wandering the worlds again?

I sighed, covering my eyes and grabbing the handle of the Tokyo Ghoul door.

My journey was coming to an end. It had gone on for a very long time, but everything ever ends, right? On rare occasions, listeners to a story cry when it ends, from the realisation that... here it is the end. There's no sequel to the story. But you know...I think over the ending of my story, no one will cry or even be sad. It was grey and didn't have what I would have wished for. Perhaps my selfishness was to blame, or cruel fate...I don't know.

I opened the door, staring calmly at the view before me. With a slight chuckle, I looked around at the familiar building, but it wasn't what it used to be. It never would be.

Here they were. The last lines in the book of my adventure. Am I sad myself? Perhaps my answer would be no. Like any creature, I wish for a rest from all this fuss and battles with death. But after all, it's his will... And like any god, he can just erase his promise from my memory and then the death battles will continue. Hah! Or maybe that's the way it's supposed to be!)))))

I took a step through the door.

Afterword.

You know, I, don't have anything to say. Seriously. I remember when the first chapter of this fanfic was published, I was composing huge texts that I would cram in here, but now... I'm really tired, and so is my hero. He turned out to be really what I wished he was in the beginning, when I wrote the prologue to Shadow Killer. It seems so far away now... To be honest, I'm too lazy to go to ficbook to find out the exact date... Ouch, okay!

Hmmm... 9 January. Almost a year ago. Anyway, I want to thank everyone who has accompanied and supported me on this journey of becoming an author. I started with the loathsome Shadow Killer and I'm ending with the tolerable Ghoul. Or rather, I'm finishing this line. Although...am I? Because one day, some idea might pop into my head and start a new quest.

Anyway, thank you all for accompanying me on this journey of becoming a very rotten, but still an author. I hope to see you in the comments of my other fanfics. Thank you to the beta who also checked out all this gloom, thank you to everyone in general!

Anyway, where was I... Oh yeah! I wanted to write about the consequences in the world... That's what they usually do in normal fics, right? Normal fics usually have happy endings, but mine... see for yourself.

Five years later.

CCG headquarters.

The black-haired girl was leisurely heading home from the CCG office. She was in an extremely satisfied state. I bet she had destroyed an S rank Ghoul, and she had done it all by herself! For something like this, they usually gave an instant promotion, but there were some problems with this....

As she passed by the women and men rushing about, she smiled as she thought about the simple lives of these people.

Suddenly, she was called out right in the middle of the street.

- Akame!!!

The girl smiled, turning to the guy who ran up to her, who instantly jumped into her with a kiss.

- Well not here..." she whispered into his lips with a smile as they pulled away from each other. - Tatsumi, it's not proper for a senior class investigator to kiss a special class investigator like that.

- Even if she is his wife? - Tatsumi smirked.

- Have you seen the others? - Ignoring the last question, Akame asked.

- Mmm... Mein and Shelly are kinda in the armoury of the office... Kurome is with Wade and Leone at the bar, and I saw Lubbock running in the same direction.

- I see. - the girl nodded. - Call them to our house, please. That Ghoul blabbed something during our fight, so I've got a lead on the Mole thing.

- Got it! - The boy went straight to do what he was told.

In five years, it turned out that Dorothea had not been sitting still either, and as a result she had died thanks to her own experiments, having managed to create several thousand real Ghouls, having managed to fully reproduce the structure of the original. Those, in turn, began to multiply, quickly learning to hide among ordinary people. And although Ghoul children were still infants, in five years, it threatened to become a real problem.

But humanity did not stand still. A special organisation had been set up, as described by an old acquaintance of the Apostates, which was named exactly as Kaneki himself had called it. Scientists quickly figured out how to make the weapon the white-haired man was talking about, and thanks to the first successful samples, the Ghoul began to lose population a little at a time, and in time, each CCG investigator had his own kuinke.

Almost all of the renegades quickly rose through the ranks to senior investigators thanks to their teigu, but there were exceptions. Akame, who was promoted to a special class because Murasame pierced the flesh of Ghouls, killing them with a curse with ease, had a big impact on her career, ensuring her rapid growth. Shelly with Lubbock and Leone were candidates for a special class, thanks to their teigu and quinque, which they had learnt to combine masterfully. And Mein, still an investigator of the first rank, which pisses her off, and makes Tatsumi a laughing stock.

What about Esdes? She's missing. There was some talk of her in the north, but about four years ago, it finally stopped. She probably realised she wasn't going to find Kaneki and either died or..., which is the other option, knowing her. Laura disappeared in that battle and was never heard from again. Felicia didn't go to the CCG, and neither did Balls, travelling the world. Well, other than that... everything was great. She and Tatsumi had gotten married two months ago, and Kurome and Wade were a full two years ahead of them.

The Empire had become a prosperous state, thanks to the power of the newly elected emperor. He's a young guy, but his brains are good, and in 3 years, despite the threat of the Ghouls, he's turned the Empire into the centre of trade for the world!

As for Kaneki... he just disappeared. When Akame woke up, neither he nor Halizard's body was there. And the girl had searched. They all did. But they found nothing. It wasn't until a month after his disappearance that Felicia appeared at the doorstep of Leone and Lubbock's house, where all the remaining members of the Apostates were temporarily housed, and silently handed over a note and disappeared into the crowd without a second to think. The letter turned out to be from Kaneki, stating that we might not be looking for him. He had travelled to his homeland and would not be returning because, as he wrote, the way back was one-way and once he got there, there was no way back out.

Akame experienced depression again, but not as bad as she had last time. Still, she knew that although he was far away, he was alive and there was a chance that this prodigal Ghoul would return.

But as time passed, only the framed photograph hanging in Akame and Tatsumi's home and in her own office occasionally reminded her of him. Tatsumi himself didn't mind, knowing that it would hurt Akame, which he didn't want to do.

And so, five years passed... Kaneki disappeared and never came back. Everything had turned out just as he had wished during his last months in this world. Akame had forgotten about him and found a new family. But it was for the best for the girl herself. Still, with an ordinary mortal, she had far less to worry about.

Akame leisurely continued on her way home, but suddenly she heard a startled shriek.

- 'Wow,' came from a white-haired boy looking at her unwaveringly.

His face was covered in several strange scarlet patterns made of threads that went right under his skin. The same was true of his hands. He was dressed in a white shirt with black trousers, looking at Akame cheerfully with his scarlet eyes.

At the same time...

A girl, with dark purple hair covering her left eye, was walking leisurely through the city, looking around. Next to her, there was another girl, but she had long, dark blue hair down to her waist. They were accompanied from behind by two guys, also looking around.

One was a red-haired, bespectacled boy, but his posture spoke of the ease with which he would kill anyone who dared to approach them. And next to him, a smiling, tall man in a purple dinner jacket.

- Sister Touka!!! - shouted a russet-haired girl, running up to the group with some green lollipops on sticks. - Try some!

The purple-haired girl accepted the lollipop with a smile, tasting it carefully. Her eyebrows rose upwards, and the item instantly disappeared into the girl's mouth.

- Well done, Hinami! - Touka replied happily.

The lollipops were handed out to everyone else, but while the other girl ate without caution, the guys were rather... cautious, as was Touka.

- What a flavour... - the girl savoured as she sucked on a lollipop. - Not Tokyo at all...

- You didn't even get to taste a quarter of it. - her friend chuckled. - You've only been able to eat human food for a week.

- Shut up, Esdes. - Touka waved her off with mild irritation. - Don't get in the way.

- Pfft." snorted the recoloured girl.

- Shu-san, eat! - Hinami encouraged the man in the dinner jacket.

He smiled as he complied with the girl's order.

- I can't get used to this..." the bespectacled man said unhappily.

- You'll get used to it. - came a slightly mocking voice from behind.

There was one more person behind them. A white-haired Ghoul, surveying his surroundings with a slight smile.

- Brother Kaneki, do you want some? - Hinami ran up to him, getting another lollipop from somewhere.

- Yeah, thanks, Hinami. - With a smile, he accepted the lollipop.

Suddenly, he flinched, raising his gaze somewhere to the side. Taking in a breath of air, his smile grew even wider.

- Okay, so you're going to that restaurant over there. - Kaneki pointed his finger at the building with the sign "Delicious Paradise". - and wait for me there. I'll go find Juzo.

- Brother, can I come with you?

- Of course, Hinami... - Kaneki looked away again.

- Ah... Kaneki, why... - Touka started, but a slightly smiling Esdes, who also caught a familiar scent, tugged her sleeve lightly.

- I think you wanted to see who was the fastest? - The girl asked excitedly, and Touka just waved her hand at Kaneki, grinning and getting ready for the speed race.

- Let's go... - Hinami's boyfriend whispered, pointing parallel to the guys with a glance at the girls. The two of them correctly understood the silent phrase "if they get even a scratch on them, I'll kill them".

A couple of minutes later, the 2 omnivores, thanks to Kaneki, Ghoul came to a large area. The white-haired man was still able to create the perfect stomach for the Ghouls, thanks to his ultimate kagune form.

Kaneki froze, staring unflinchingly at the black-haired girl with scarlet eyes, around whom Juso galloped, trying to inspect the sword in her scabbard from every angle. Ghoul grinned and then Juzo froze, turning to look at his friend. Akame followed his gaze and also froze, looking at Kaneki. Her gaze dropped to Hinami... and froze on the girl.

- 'Juzo...' Kaneki said slowly. - 'Go with Hinami to the restaurant. She'll show you which one.

The boy looked at the guy in surprise, but seeing his gaze instantly grabbed the girl and without listening to her indignation and questions, ran away. After that look, Kaneki was doing very unpleasant things to the lad.

And so, 2 figures froze in the middle of the street.....

- Hello. - Kaneki said, smiling with a lollipop stick sticking out from under his teeth. - Akame.
