Chapter 14 - Triggers

It had been two days since Kelly was out. When she finally woke up, she decided to try out her transformation. She had had a dream that she transformed which prompted her to try it out.

Kelly's pov

"What's this all about?" Damien asked

"I just want to know what I look like,"

"I mean…I should know" I said pleading with him to tell me what I needed to do.

"Fine"

"Yes" I squealed like a child promised ice cream.

I followed behind him as he walked passed the garden and towards an open space in another part of the mansion. I've never even been on this side of the house.

"Wow" I observed the place in awe, looking at the metal thingies that looked like people. There were a bunch of them. Bows and arrows were arranged properly at a corner and there was an empty space under a shade.

"This is where I train," Damien said.

"What do you need to train for?" I asked sarcastically because from what Ivy told me, he's feared and no one dared pick a fight with him.

"I have enemies," Damien said in his usual indifferent voice.

"Well I'm sure you'll brush them off their feet," I said, pushing a red button on the left arm of one of the metal men. The hand swung at me but I was quick to dodge.

"Don't touch anything, except you wanna fight it?"

"No…" I finally replied after a while of hesitating.

"Quick reflexes, nice," Damien said, a smirk curving up to his face. I smiled, proud of myself.

"But that's not why we're here"

He just had to kill my mojo.

"Transformation is easy…being your first time, it can be triggered by various things, especially strong emotions and past memories" Damien paused.

"Channel your emotions to your inner soul"

"It takes self-control and mind balance to keep your animal in check otherwise"

"So let's see what you got"

"Self-control, mind balance…" I repeated trying to pull myself together.

"Aren't you gonna demonstrate first?"

"No"

I closed my eyes and focused on one of my happy memories when Mum and I used to play around in my playroom. She'd pretend to be the mighty beast slayer and I'd be the little princess damsel who needed to be saved. I miss her so much. I tried channelling it to my inner soul as he said and just when I thought I did it, I looked at myself to see the same human me.

"I couldn't do it," I said disappointed.

"Okay you need to relax your mind, your thoughts are a complete chaos," he said walking towards the bows and arrows.

"Develop focus…aim at the red dot" he said, picking up a bow and placing the arrow horizontally, the sharp edge facing the target.

Squinting, Damien made his shot and it went straight at the red dot.

Impressive…

"Try.." He handed me the bow and another arrow. I had no idea what I was doing but I took it anyway.

She put the arrow ready for shooting but at her shot, the arrow didn't even make it past two metres from her. She felt a little discontented and decided to try again but didn't seem to be getting it.

"Don't rush it…" Damien said, his hand holding the hand wielding the bow from behind her, tensing her up.

"To make it easy, try holding the bow at the middle, not the side," he said, picking up her other hand, and trapping her in between. One thing was sure, if focus was what he wanted her to gain, she had completely lost it. All she could think of was his huge muscled, manly body towering over her, the closeness of his face and the way his hair brushed her face as he moved. His hard chest on her back felt like resting on a soft hard rock which didn't make any sense. She felt tingles in the strangest way she never felt before.

He suddenly turned his face towards her, her heart raced wildly and he could hear it beating loudly. He smirked, wanting to tease her further but he didn't.

"Eyes ahead princess" Damien said

"Right," I said looking at what I was being taught.

"There, you see it?" Damien said letting go of her.

"Now you try it" I did my best in balance and he didn't seem to be complaining or correcting anything so I guess I was doing fine. I made the shot and I was able to get it to the yellow circle, just one circle before the red one.

"I did it" I said happily but I looked to see Damien, discomfort in his eyes. He seemed to be distracted, listening out for something.

"What's wrong?" I tried to listen as well. I could hear someone muttering continuously but I couldn't hear what the fuss was all about and then came the smashing of glass. The sound came out very loud, stinging my ears.

"you hear it?" Damien asked and I nodded.

"Let's go," he said, pulling me by my hand. We got to the sitting room and it became louder and clearer.

"I want to see him now, take me to him this instant" I recognized that voice and she was the last person I wanted to see. Cordelia. She definitely dressed to impress with her strapless blue short dress and a pair of designer heels.

"That was one of my favourite vases"

"Daddy" She squeaked, jumping all over him. She glared at me, so I decided to give them some space. The last thing I need now is enemies.

"I'll be in my room"

"Stay… we have important things to do"

"Thanks for the visit Cordelia, see you never" Damien said wriggling himself out of her strangling hold.

"But daddy…I miss you. I miss the way you make me feel, your burning touch and kisses, let's go upstairs and have fun" Cordelia said, licking her lips, obviously trying to make me uncomfortable. Well, she won. I ran up the stairs and didn't turn around even when Damien called out my name.

"Let her be, she's such a drag anyway," Cordelia said.

"What do you want Cordelia?"

"Let's go to your room first, then we'll talk" She said placing her hand over his shoulder, staring into his eyes. Using her siren song, she got into his head, controlling him. She led him upstairs into his room. He sat on the bed and watched her take off her blue dress, leaving her undergarments to reveal the sexy body he always held in his arms. She straddled him, touching him in places she knew would turn him on.

"Play with me Daddy, kiss me" she said but he remained still. She knew why but she just wanted to deny the fact that his heart already belonged to another.

She kissed him instead, lustfully wrapping her hands around him in want and desire, hoping he couldn't break himself from her mind-enchanting song.

"What're you doing?" Damien suddenly said startling her. She got up quickly before he pushed her off him.

"Still here with your schemes huh? I'm sure that's how you made me fall for you in the first place" Damien said getting up.

"Oh get over yourself, you know I didn't"

Damien scoffed, his eyes lurking over her body.

"Here…put it on and leave" he said tossing her dress over to her.

"My father wants his price"

Damien looked at her, recalling the deal he had made with her father in exchange for a certain favour. He had to marry his daughter.
