Fun With Elders

Darren went out of the room after class, and Zara followed him. Zara called out to Professor Darren, "Professor."

With a warm smile, Darren turned to face Zara. "How many times have I told you? You may address me as a Professor only during class hours. Just call me Grandpa after class."

"Okay, Grandpa Darren," Zara called as he requested, smiling at him. "Yeah, that's the way." With joy, Darren answered, "Yeah, what did you want to tell?"

"Grandpa Darren, you can test me directly if you'd like to. Why do you have to utilize alternative methods to test me?" With one eyebrow arched and palms placed across her chest, Zara posed the question.

"Cough... Cough..." Darren coughed when Zara discovered his thoughts. "You, girl. That means you were treating me like a clown till now. You, you..." With a look of anger in his eyes, Darren pointed to Zara.

"Calm down, Grandpa Darren. Your health will suffer if you become upset at this age." Zara teased, sounding as though she was concerned. Knowing exactly what Zara was getting at, Darren shot back with a loving but enraged expression, "You're calling me old. You call me old? How dare you?"

He gave Zara a little flick of his finger as he spoke. Zara giggled jokingly at Darren. "It seems you became naughty." Darren spoke as he descended the stairs.

Mathew was chatting on his phone while seated on the long sofa in the living room. He called out, "Lia, come here," as he noticed the two individuals making their way into the living room.

Even though Mathew was in his sixties, he took care of his body and his health to enable him to be with his family anytime he desired. Despite his lack of muscle, he exercised and maintained a normal diet. The family even hired a nutritionist to handle the elderly's diet in order to accomplish all of this.

Zara looked up at the sound of her grandfather's voice and turned to face Darren. He grinned at her and patted her hand, which was grasping his hand, adding, "Go, your old man is calling for you. I am capable of walking alone."

Zara smiled and walked towards Mathew. "Sit, Lia." Mathew made Zara sit next to him and looked at the other person who was still walking and said, "You also sit. See how slow you're walking. You're really old."

When Darren was dubbed an old man again, he became enraged and yelled out, "If I'm old, what are you? A twenty-year-old man who is still in his early years."

"At least I am not as weak as you. I can exercise and run for a while. Can you?" Mathew teasingly murmured, raising his eyebrows as he peered at Darren. Darren became enraged with the both grandfather and granddaughter and yelled, "You two are attacking me. Just wait. Look how I change myself and prove that I'm not as in bad condition as you said."

Zara stood up with her thumbs up and said, "Grandpa Darren, I'm with you. You can do it. If you need any help, you should tell me." "You child. You're also not supporting me, right?"

"Who said that I won't support Grandpa Darren? I will always support you no matter what." Zara said with a serious face. Seeing her serious face, Darren felt happy and looked at Mathew with a proud look.

But Zara shattered the proud expression the next second, saying, "But that doesn't mean I'll hide the truth, right?" Darren gave in to her and took a seat on the solitary sofa. "I don't want to speak to you both. Go." Darren said, gesturing with his hand.

Zara laughed as she sat next to Mathew, and the two of them exchanged little smiles. The three talked for quite some time until Kylie called everyone for lunch.

The Adam family created a separate dining room to isolate it from the living room. The dining area featured a long table that could seat twelve people.

Everybody was seated, and the table was piled high with a wide variety of delicacies. Zara sat next to Kylie.

After lunch, everyone sat in the living room. Kylie turned to face Darren and said, "Uncle Darren, I would like to discuss something with you." Can we discuss in the downstairs study room?"

"Okay, Kylie. Let's go." Darren stated when he got up and walked alongside Kylie. Kylie went into the study room and set down a glass of flavored water on the table as they sat on the couch.

"What is it, Kylie?" Darren inquired as he took a sip of water from his glass. "It is about Lia, Uncle Darren. We asked her about her thoughts on attending kindergarten." Kylie said, looking at Darren with a loving smile.

Darren nodded and asked, "What is her opinion on that?" "As you are aware, she wishes to continue her studies under your supervision for another few years. She stated that she will begin the school after a few years." Kylie commented.

"So what do you think about her opinion?" Darren placed the glass on the table and glanced at Kylie calmly. Kylie glanced at Darren and said, "I respect her decision, Uncle Darren. If she wants to learn from you, that's excellent for her as well. Just wondering if you'd be open to teaching her what she wants to learn. Because I understand you have a lot of work and are still a professor at a reputable university."

"Kylie, I understand your concern about Zara. And I know you care about my health. You don't need to worry, though; I'll teach Zara everything I know as long as she wants to learn. Do not worry." Darren said with a soothing expression.

Kylie still seemed concerned and remarked, "But Uncle Darren, you still need to take care of your health. You shouldn't overstress yourself."
