CHAPTER 18

Ruby always felt happy whenever she sees her friends or family being in such a jovial mood. Happiness was after the cure of all diseases.

Their transport finally arrived and they all got into the cars headed for the hotel. She sat in the back seat with Harvey of course and had a nice journey back to the hotel. It felt different this time even when he hugged her or kissed her. Was it because they now confirmed to each other about their feelings?

When they reached the hotel, the other groups were already there. The place was full of chatter, they all seemed happy after spending the day unsupervised.

She gathered everyone around for a short meeting to announce the plans for the rest of the trip.

“I hope you all had a great time and behaved well at the same time. Tonight we will all have our normal buffet dinner but tomorrow we shall have a party so be prepared. We won’t be leaving this place without having one. As scheduled we will depart the day after tomorrow, so make sure you put your houses in order by the end of tomorrow,” Ruby announced and the junior students applauded.

“Ruby had said everything; we will tell you the morning program after your breakfast tomorrow. So right now go and have your dinner and take some rest,” the head professor said and the kids were happy to hear that.

Everyone separated and went to their suites for refreshment; it had been a long day after all.

Ruby went to her suite where she took a nice hot bath and wash off the tiredness away. It’s been a long, beautiful and romantic day for her. She came out of the tub and put on her robe.

She went to the mirror where she looked at herself and the necklace that was hanging around her neck. She really loves it and she doubted if she will ever take it off. It felt like a dog collar though. Harvey was marking her that she was his and she loves it so much.

She had never felt like this before in her previous relationships. She never cared whether they were rich or not, all she ever wanted was to be loved but with her personality it was always difficult. They never seemed to understand her but Harvey did and that filled her with so much joy that she forgot just how much their love was forbidden.

She went through her closet and found the new clothes that she had bought earlier. She picked one red mini dress and put in on. She didn’t know why she wanted to look so good but she just felt like it.

She chose a pair of black stilettos to go with her dress and when she was satisfied she sprayed some cologne and she was good to go. She wanted to leave a huge impression on his mind; she wanted him to see only her in his eyes and not any of those girls that kept on clinging to him.

The thought of him looking at another just made her have goose bumps all over. She would really skin someone if that ever happens. She took out her cell phone and took a couple of selfies for memories and head out of her suite. It was time for dinner after all.

She was waiting for the elevator when it stopped on her floor. The elevator doors opened and there he was standing in there. His eyes locked with hers and she saw something she had never seen in his eyes before.

She couldn’t tell exactly what it was but she loved it. He simply pulled her into the elevator, embracing her with his warm hug she just wanted to remain like that and not move.

He inhaled her scent and whispered against her ear, “are you trying to make things hard for me?”

“I guess I am. So what are you going to do about it?”

“I would take this elevator back to your floor or mine for starters and never make it to dinner; or I will just take you to dinner and suffer for a while,” he whispered in her ear.

“I will take the second option,” she said and gave him a peck on his cheek before she pulled away.

The elevator came to a stop and Nancy got inside and she looked at them.

“If you don’t want to be caught that fast, then you might as well wipe that lipstick mark on his cheek,” she smirked at them.

“I will kill you one of these days,” Ruby hissed.

“You wouldn’t do that. If you do that then you will be lonely without me,” she said with a grin on her face.

“I know, so I won’t kill you. Where are the boys?”

“They left earlier, they had things to do or something like that. You look beautiful in that dress,” Nancy complimented her.

“Thank you very much and so do you.”

“Thanks.”

The elevator arrived at the restaurant floor and they all got out.

“Harvey, do you mind going first? I have a few things I need to discuss with my friend here,” Nancy asked.

“I don’t mind, I will see you two inside,” he said and left.

Ruby looked at her friend who seemed to be harboring intentions and she was curious to unravel them.
