New Life

Rika thrust several wads of money at Ramon.

Of course, this was what she wanted from the start; when Ramon's eyes lit up at the sight of the money, Rika pulled it back.

"Why did you pull it back, the money is mine!" Ramon exclaimed, feeling cheated.

"I'll give you as much as you want, but there are conditions."

"What conditions?"

"You can use this but not for gambling!" Rika exclaimed, thinking that her husband could change that easily.

Ramon smiled and agreed to the condition his wife gave him.

"Alright, I promise!" Ramon said with his eyes sparkling.

"If you break your promise, don't expect me to give you this much money again!"

Hearing Rika's threat, Ramon thought again; his wife was no longer as innocent as before.

It could be that when she returned to her parents' house, they had told her an effective way to change Ramon.

Ramon was silent and did not dare touch the money; he only took a few bills from the wad of cash offered.

"Why not all of it?" Rika asked curiously.

"I don't want to betray you anymore; I've changed, darling!" Ramon said, trying to convince Rika.

Rika smiled and felt victorious; she was sure her husband was not the same as when they first met.

"Then what is the money for?" Rika asked while hugging her husband.

"Only for my necessary needs!" Ramon said firmly.

Rika then put the money back into her bag; she wanted to see if Ramon had changed or if he was still like before.

Rika deliberately did not move her bag and chose to leave.

Ramon, who knew it was a trap, rushed to shower and left the bag on the bed.

While Ramon was bathing, Rika, who began to understand Ramon's habits, took out the money in his bag and put it in the safe.

From afar, Rika kept an eye on her trap bag; if Ramon took it, she wanted to ambush her husband's man immediately.

After showering, Ramon did not dare to think about the money in his wife's bag. He knew Rika's plan, and if the devil in his body tempted him again, it would certainly be a boomerang for him.

Ramon then began to think about finding work with some of his relatives and hoped that this activity would make him forget his gambling habit.

Rika, who saw that her husband was busy looking for work, seemed very satisfied; I don't know; Rika always believed that her husband was better than he said.

"How was it?" Asked Rika, who had been watching Ramon.

Ramon just shook his head; he said being a good person was not easy when everyone knew he had made mistakes.

Rika then stroked her husband's head, who was discouraged; she then gave an idea: what if Ramon opened his own business?

"What business?" Ramon asked, unsure of his wife's idea.

"Why don't we do a product photography business? You're so handsome; you'd be perfect for modeling men's clothes!"

Ramon wrinkled his forehead; he didn't understand what his wife meant.

Rika then opened an Instagram account belonging to a friend of hers, where it appeared that Rika's friend was running a product photo service for a hefty fee. Surely, Ramon would be a good fit to model at the start of their business.

Ramon shook his head; he wasn't brave enough to be a photo model. What else would his face appear everywhere in the future?

Rika was silent again, thinking about what kind of business her husband could run. Indeed, they had a lot of money, but if it needed to be managed properly, any amount would run out, too, Rika thought.

"Actually, I once had a coffee business in Bancuey. But I'm not sure if I can run it again or not!" Ramon's whisper got Rika excited again.

"That's it, that's it. I'm sure you can do it, Ramon. You like gambling just because it's wrong!" Rika tried to encourage her husband.

Ramon was silent. He then recalled the heyday of his shop in Banceuy; even though the results were not much, his ex-wife always encouraged him to keep trying to grow his business.

Unfortunately, everything was destroyed because of gambling, which slowly ate away at his body and property; Ramon took a deep breath and tried to forget the sad incident.

"Don't be sad, we can get through this!" Rika tried to encourage Ramon.

Ramon smiled and promised Rika and his future child that they would not return to that path. Of course, Rika was very happy to hear her husband's promise.

"Let's get started!" Rika exclaimed as she got up from her seat.

As they began to set up their new business, an ad in the newspaper informed them that the place Ramon had been renting was now being rented out at a low price.

Ramon's hand immediately pointed to the advertisement and told Rika that the place was in a very good position and the price was very suitable.

Rika then suggested Ramon contact the place's owner so they could rent it immediately.

"Well, hopefully, no one has rented it yet!" Ramon said excitedly.

Sure enough, the place was just empty, and since Ramon already knew the owner, they immediately agreed on the monthly rent.

Ramon promised to pay the rent immediately because the owner had yet to look for another tenant.

After agreeing, they headed to the landlord's house; Rika, seeing her husband's excitement, followed Ramon's lead and hoped that this business would start a good relationship with Ramon.

Soon, the place was ready for use.

"When do we open?" Asked Ramon, who had become very obedient to Rika.

"We'll prepare the items we want to sell first, be patient!"

Ramon nodded; in the past, in this place, he only sold one type of item: coffee. Indeed, this commodity was being sought after by many people because Bandung had now become a paradise for cafes.

He was sure to repeat his former glory days if he could find the best coffees and sell them here.

Rika smiled at Ramon's progress, though she was still worried that one day, one of Ramon's friends would tempt him back to the gambling tables again.

"Are we going to tell your mom and dad?" Rika asked.

"Later when we're really ready!"

Rika smiled, and Ramon got busy telling his friends about his soon-to-be-opened business.

Many of Ramon's friends were supportive; he was quite an expert in this field, so it would be a shame if he didn't continue this business.

Tired of his promotion to his friends, Ramon then hurried to lie on his soft bed.

It wasn't long before Ramon fell asleep, and just as he started to doze off, a message arrived on his cell phone.

"Ramon, let's play gambling again!" Invited someone via text message.

The message annoyed Rika, who was close to Ramon's cell phone.
