"Oh, I met your ex with her new lady. Apparently, they're already engaged," Roxanne laughs as she meets with Lauren and Melissa in their favorite restaurant after her husband drops her off.

"What do you mean, 'fiancée'?" Lauren looks pissed. Matthew hasn't answered her calls or replied to any of her text messages, and she needs him to fix everything. She can't let her father send her to Alaska.

There's nothing in Alaska, or at least the town she will be sent to—the supply plane only comes twice a month, and it's truly in the middle of nowhere. Her father built that clinic because he wanted to gain sympathy from the people and have her occasionally check on it, not for her to stay there permanently. It's literally just snow and storms in the area where her father built the clinic, far too remote for Lauren's liking.
