The house of the town's head

The guard opened the gate for them, and they walked on the snow-filled lawn to reach the house. She could tell it was a vast land; they probably had animal barns and a stable behind the house. A few children in ragged clothes were running as they carried a small casket over their heads.

"Hey-" Luiza called them and was about to walk to them, but Hael withheld her shoulders. "Leave it for now," he reminded her.

Her lips parted, wanting to retaliate, but she did not, and she followed their words. They entered through the doors, kept their new boots outside, and walked barefoot on the heated floors.

"Hello there" A woman with curly ginger hair and an expensive ivory gown greeted them. Luiza gave a courteous bow and replied, "Good evening."

"Oh, why are you both adhering to the doorways? Come inside" She had an exceptional grin from ear to ear.
