Chapter CIX - The Beginning of a Revolution (part 1)

I ended up teaching the class again…

Whatever. After the class ended, pretty much everyone had a plus one to their skills on sword arts. I can't help but feel that I did great as a sword arts teacher.

They were able to spar with one another much better now. Their movements were a lot faster and more confident, and they somehow were able to copy a skill or two from me, just by showing it to them.

These class E students… are they really just idiots...?

After the class, everyone went back to their dorms and cleaned up. And now, it's time for the second class of the day, the Mathematics class.

I'm not that looking forward to mathematics, now that I know what kind of stuff they teach here. So, I'm just going to read the books I borrowed from the library while the class is going.

I'm not going to pretend like I'm following the class, since I already got even beyond what the class can offer.

And right now, the class has started. I had my legs up above the table and my chair pushed a little further back, while my hands were holding a book.

The teacher was able to ignore me for a long time, but in the end she just couldn't handle it. She decided to test me with a super heavy question regarding the current topic.

"Rize. Come forward, please."

The teacher, Miss Henije, suddenly said to me. Everyone else already noticed how I'm so ignorant about the class, and they can only ignore me. But, the teacher can't take it anymore.

"Oh, dear..."

I stood up and closed my book. I placed the book on my table and headed forward to the front of the class.

"Answer this question, please."

The teacher pointed at a question in her book. It's a very advanced algebra question, not gonna lie. But it's actually simple.

(6x^2 + x - 2) / (4x^2 - 1) = 2/3

Aye. The answer is -1/2.

I can see what makes this question difficult, and I can see why the teacher tested me with this. I still can't believe how low the level of knowledge is in this world, and I'm sort of disappointed because I couldn't learn more about it.

I began writing down the question on the board, and then the path to do it, and then finally the answer. The teacher saw me answering it without pause and nodded once I completed it.

"Indeed, you are smart... But, next time please pay attention to the class."

"I can't promise you that."

I turned around and left her like that. She is probably mad at me, but there is nothing she can do about it.

If I don't want to do it, then I won't. After all, I have other things that are much more interesting and profitable to learn than this.

The teacher could only let out a sigh and continued the class. Everyone stared at me like I'm some sort of genius delinquent.

For the rest of the class, the teacher didn't bother me anymore, and I was able to focus on my reading.

And after about two hours (non Xyphon time), the class ended and we all left the class to return to the dorms.

"R-Rize!"

A voice called me from behind as I exited the class building. It's Manda and Jericho, and they looked quite worried about something.

"Can we… have a moment…?"

Instead of going to the dorms, we decided to grab a meal at the canteen. We chose a table that is away from everyone else, and we didn't pick the one inside.

The canteen is large, and it even has a balcony with multiple sets of tables outside, just like the inside. The students can sit there and get brushed by the calm and cold wind freely, kinda like a smoking area.

We picked a seat there, on one of the tables on the outside. That way, our conversation will be carried away by the wind easily and no one can eavesdrop.

"So? What is it about?"

I said as I opened my meal. It's another cooked chicken with extra sauce. I'm very proud of it.

Manda took a deep breath, and she finally spoke with all her might.

"Please! H-Help us train so we can defeat class A!"

"... Huh?"

Her request sounded very political. Defeating class A? In what? Student council presidency?

"Class A has been... bullying us for the past month. In ways that it's almost unthinkable. And just yesterday, Jericho got wounded pretty badly, and I'm getting sick of it every moment.

And not just class A… Other classes too! And… since the classes are based on our magical capabilities, we can't do anything to them because we are much weaker than them... Which is why I'm asking you.

Please, help us defeat class A!"

She explained her request as I chewed on my meal. It looks like I wasn't paying attention, but my ears captured every single word coming out from her mouth.

No, more like I already expected what she was going to say.

I quickly placed down the chicken and cleaned my mouth with a napkin.

"Okay. First of all, who said you guys were weaker?"

I suddenly said, putting both Jericho and Manda confused.

"W-Well, I mean, It's because we all failed miserably on the entrance test..."

"No, that's because you guys are untrained and lack practice. But you aren't weaker, nor untalented.

I have seen your fire powers in the Magic Aptitude class. Your fire power is at least as powerful as a Yellow ranked adventurer in my place, and that's already the second highest rank of adventurers."

"W-What? Really?"

Both of them looked quite happy about my praise.

"The fire punch that you did managed to create a hole on the dummy, while everyone else can only create a dent."

"R-Right..."

I kept on praising Manda specifically, but I know for a fact that the true hidden talent in class E was actually Jericho.

Her wind magic is... insane. It's possible that she is weak because she is simply untrained. But after she trained, it's highly likely that she will become a very powerful mage in the future.

But, not right now. She is indeed very weak, at the moment.
