Chapter CLXVI - Barbeque Over (part 3)

It was noon, and two people were entering a certain restaurant. One is a young female adventurer known as the swordsaint, the other is also an adventurer, known to be one of the greatest tankers in the class.

Fran and Brod entered Hod's restaurant somewhere around the second bell, the very next day. The two approached Hod who was writing on the front desk, and quickly sat at the tall chairs in front of him.

His restaurant does look a little like a bar after all, with him being the bartender.

"So, you guys heard that she bought a house?"

Hod asked the two when they sat down, and Fran nodded after ordering an ice cream to Hod's mom.

"Yep. Did she invite you?"

"Yeah, she did. Though I'm not sure what she meant when she said 'barbeque together'."

"Isn't barbeque the food menu?"

Brod asked Hod, and the blue man nodded.

"I see… But what does it mean? Is she going to make it for us?"

"Not sure. She probably just wants to celebrate the new house."

Fran guessed that based on her experience with Rize's personality, but Hod did not mind those things.

"Well, it's a free dinner for me, so I'll accept anyways."

Hearing that Hod is also coming made Fran and Brod excited. Aside from them, Emily, Cane, and Rath are also invited.

I also managed to get Barett to come, but Cony and Valey are still busy. Cony is doing her own work right now with her parents on a rather big clothing business, while Valey is apparently at Naverne kingdom with her siblings.

I also got Lyona and Eva to come. I went to Lyona's family home, and found Lyona right away. That little reunion didn't last long, since I came only to invite her to my house for the barbeque event. 

And she said, with pride, with joy, and a voice ten million decibels higher than a car horn:

"I will surely be there!!!! I will also ask Eva to come too!!!!!"

Sometimes I wonder how I was able to put up with her personality, back then. But, I'm glad she missed me that much.

Hearing that Eva will come, I might get the chance to regenerate her arm too.

At noon, I went to the market to buy some things for the barbeque, like the meat and the materials for the sauce. As for the grill, I will make it.

As in, using shadow magic.

Because they don't make those here.

In the afternoon, I started cleaning up the place. I had to use my shadow magic to swipe three brooms at the same time while being on a different floor. I also placed carpets on the floor so people can actually sit down on the floor, as well to not get them to feel the cold wood touching their feet.

And just like that, the house is now perfect.

The third bell rang, and people started to come.

Fran and Emily came first. The two are wearing a casual outfit, which I have not seen much before. They looked around the house and became amused really quickly.

"For a commoner's house, this is quite wide and comfy. You have my praise for doing all of these."

Fran said to me while sitting on the sofa.

"Thank you. This is all possible thanks to that money the kingdom gave me. And, from you and Cane."

"Well, you are always welcome. I don't need that much anyways. By the way, this thing is so soft!"

Fran moved around as she sat on the sofa, feeling the softness. Emily also came to have a taste, and she quickly loosened her body and placed her face on the sofa.

"Well of course, that thing is five hundred Jules each."

"What?? So expensive!"

"Well compared to the house, that much is nothing."

"How... How much is this house?"

I lifted a three and a two using my fingers.

"Thirty two."

"D-Damn... That's so expensive..."

"Well, you are still sitting in the living room. Try looking around some more."

Fran and Emily stood up and started exploring. They looked around the rooms, like the bathroom, the kitchen, bedrooms, and the balcony. They asked what's with the large amount of water on the back, and I told them it's for something private.

Just for me. I will use it for myself.

The boys all came together around the time we returned to the living room. They quickly had a look around while me and the girls were setting up the grill, next to the swimming pool in the backyard.

Seeing how modern my house is made them really shocked. I did change some of the back walls that separates the house with the backyard and turned them into glass. 

For example, there is no wall separating my kitchen and backyard. Only a simple glass that can be seen through.

The same goes with my balcony on the second floor. Not only is it widened, but it also has glass as walls.

Obviously, that concept has never been used before, so everyone was rather shocked.

I lit the grill on fire using my fire magic after placing the coals in, and then took out the meat from my space ring.

The boys finished exploring five minutes later and decided to chill in the backyard. Fran and Emily helped out in cooking while I prepared the sauces inside at the kitchen. 

We had a long chat in the backyard, while the girls were cooking and the boys were staring towards the middle castle in the distance. All while the smell of steak is floating in the air.

The topic is mostly about how I bought the house, but they are also curious about why there's an abundant amount of water in the backyard.

It's. A. Swimming. Pool.

Stop asking.

After a while, Lyona and Eva arrived. The two looked so much older now, after more than one and a half years. Especially Eva, her previous short hair is nowhere as beautiful as her current long hair that is tied on the back.

"Eva, Lyona! Come in, come in. Do you guys like tea or coffee?"

"Tea for me."

"Coffee for me!"

While Eva liked something sweet, Lyona is manlier and ordered a coffee as her drink. I nodded and invited them in. The two looked around the living room and became really shocked.

"For a commoner's house to be this good..."

"That's what I said."

Lyona suddenly turned to the blonde female approaching her, and found her rather pretty. 

Hod is now doing the cooking on the two shadow grills, so Emily and Fran can have a time out. 

The two went back inside and approached the newly arrived girls at the door, and they sat on the sofa while talking about various things.

I finally finished with the barbeque sauce, and I went to Hod who were still cooking.

Hod was very confused as to why I used cow meat for this, but I told him that barbeque was in fact originally a cow meat. And he became amazed by this fact.

He asked, simply because when I gave him the recipe back then, I didn't say what kind of meat that he should use. So, he used the sauce on cooked chicken and lamb chops, which is not wrong, but still deviated from the original.

The two chefs placed the steaks on the plates, and poured in the barbeque sauce.

Everyone else was chatting in the living room. Brod and Barret had pulled in some chairs from the dining room into the living room, where we will all eat.

And so, me and Hod brought the plates to them.

"Barbeque steak, by chef Rize incoming."

I said while bringing in the plates using my shadow hands, and Hod followed behind me.

Everyone cheered as they grabbed the plates from the glass table. Before they even began eating, me and Hod began preparing the drinks, and we finished in less than two minutes.

That night, I finally ate the infamously expensive food from my world. 

It only makes sense that I ate that infamous expensive menu, after spending all this money on the house.

And so…
