Synopsis

In the desolate purgatory, a chronicler of the damned, tasked with collecting stories of suffering souls, encounters a new arrival – a towering, rage-filled figure named kokutō. Bound by infernal chains, rumors swirl about kokutō's origins – a monstrous warrior or a tormented soul forced to relive the suffering he inflicted. As the chronicler delves deeper, the lines between truth and deception blur. Is kokutō a prisoner or a harbinger of something more sinister? This chilling encounter threatens to rewrite the chronicles of purgatory.

There's a lot of deep symbolism going on in this story, and I deeply believe the author has the beginnings of what could become a multi-national best seller forming here. The one caveat I will add to that is I feel a bit more effort needs to go into editing. Few things feel a bit clunky to read through, a typo here or there. Overall, though, great read thus far really feels like it captures something deep, and I can barely wait to see where it goes.

This is a dark and haunting story about a man trapped in his own guilt. The writer does a great job creating a creepy atmosphere. The character is painted as both strange and pitiful – we're curious about him, but we also feel bad for his suffering. The twist of the story is clever – we think he's crazy and hurt his wife, but the truth is something else entirely. The ending is powerful. It leaves you wondering and feeling a little unsettled, which is perfect for this kind of story. But i do want to say the writer does use some hard words a lot and its a kind of a personal issue that breaks the flow of read when you again and again needs to search for the meaning of those words. Overall, this is a well-written and chilling story.
