The next day arrived as they were in Professor Port class, unlike when they were in first Year, he seemed too be not telling them story but actually about Grimm, which made everyone that was in first year class felt like they got slammed too the face.
Professor Port was drying something on the board as he spoke. "Sense you are second year's, all of you are 1 year closer too become full Hustman and Huntresses, so today we are learning about twin, one is harmless and the other is... Will as it's name, they are called Terror and Nightmare".
Weiss shifted in her seat, remembering when she meets the Terror gream in her dreams.
Oscar noticed Weiss's reaction and leaned over slightly. "You okay?" he whispered.
Weiss hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, just… memories."
Blake, sitting nearby, also caught Weiss's expression but didn't press further.
Professor Port continued as he finished drawing two distinct Grimm figures on the board. One was like that of the Grimm Ripper, wispy childlike figure—the Terror. The other was much more sinister, an amorphous, shifting form with glowing red eyes—the Nightmare.
"As the name suggests, the Terror is relatively harmless on its own. It lurks in the subconscious, feeding on fear, but it lacks the power to directly harm someone." Port tapped his chalk against the drawing. "However, if left unchecked, it invites the Nightmare, a far more dangerous entity that can take control of a victim's dreams and even manifest physically in extreme cases."
Oscar narrowed his eyes. "So, what happens if someone gets possessed by a Nightmare?"
Professor Port adjusted his mustache. "Ah! An excellent question, Mr. Pine!" He cleared his throat dramatically. "Once the Nightmare takes hold, it gradually drains the victim's aura and willpower, trapping them in a cycle of never-ending terror. The stronger the fear, the stronger the Nightmare becomes."
A murmur spread through the class.
Weiss clenched her fists slightly. She had talk to the Terror before, but if what Port was saying was true, then there were worse versions of it out there.
Ruby frowned. "Is there a way to stop it?"
Professor Port nodded. "Indeed! While conventional weapons do little to a Nightmare's true form, a strong enough will can weaken it. There are also special treatments involving aura synchronization—essentially, teamwork and trust can help drive out the Grimm."
Yang leaned back in her chair. "So, basically, 'friendship beats evil'?"
Port chuckled. "If you wish to phrase it that way, Miss Xiao Long, then yes."
Oscar, however, was deep in thought. This wasn't just a lesson. This was something important. And if these things were out there…
He had a feeling he'd be dealing with them soon.
Port then continues. "But this only one of the many Nightmares, the one we will focusing on is something we call True Nightmare".
As then Professor poat then shows them a picture, it was Grimm that in the note said it was size do large building, it has wings, a bird like Grimm face, wings, multiple bird feets, it had long tail, the tail seemed to have multiple eyes on them as well, it had bones coming out like spikes, everyone but Oscar felt a chill.
Port continue as he spoke. "These are what we call True Nightmare, Multi City level Grimms that have destroyed many city's, before an Army of Hunter's stop them, luckily only one appeared at a time and we have observe that when they are done killing they go too something called a hibernation"
Jaune spoke shocked as he had heard them from his sister. "But I thought these were bed time story told too kids too make behave".
Port looked as he spoke. "No these Grimm are classify as SSS rank danger, once one is spotted all hunter in the near by city is called too Kill them. Port then continues. "Unlike the Terror who are harmless are know to help humans and Talk human Tongue and even are in good terms with us, True Nightmare are well... Nightmares".
The classroom was silent, the weight of the revelation sinking in. A Grimm so powerful that it required armies of Huntsmen to take down? Even the veteran students of Beacon felt a chill run down their spines.
Weiss tightened her grip on her desk. Multi-city level destruction? That was far beyond what even the most powerful Huntsmen could normally handle.
Blake frowned, her ears twitching slightly. "Professor, you said these things hibernate after killing. Does that mean there's a pattern to their attacks?"
Port nodded. "Indeed, Miss Belladonna. Based on recorded encounters, these creatures do not act like normal Grimm. They don't simply attack and pursue fear like Beowolves or Ursas. Instead, they seem to have a… goal. Though what that goal is, we still do not fully understand."
Oscar, who had remained quiet throughout the lecture, finally spoke. "Has one ever been seen recently?"
Professor Port hesitated for a moment before answering. "There have been rumors. Some reports from outer settlements claim to have seen enormous shadows in the sky, and there was an incident two years ago where an entire town vanished overnight."
Yang exhaled sharply. "Great. So we're dealing with city-destroying monsters that no one even knows how to predict?"
Ruby crossed her arms. "But if they only appear one at a time, that means we'd only have to worry about one, right?"
Port stroked his mustache. "Theoretically, yes. However, recent studies suggest that the frequency of their appearances has been increasing ever so slightly. If another one were to awaken…" He didn't finish the sentence, but everyone understood the implication.
Jaune, still visibly shaken, muttered, "So what do we do if we do see one?"
Port sighed. "Run."
The weight of that single word made the air in the room feel heavier.
Oscar, however, remained unfazed. In fact, if anything… he looked intrigued. So there's a creature even the best Huntsmen fear?
Cardine then spoke a bit scared. "H-has any one person defeated them".
Port then spoke as he shows a few pictures. "Yes, in history that is,The First King Of Mistrial also know as Richard The Lion Heart, Hunter name that went by the name Arthur Pendragon Arc, First King of Vale Adam, Faunus by the name of Night, and finally the recent one who was 400 years ago, his name is Solomon, do note these people were described as monster then self, some people believe that gods then self born people in times when Nightmare comes too be, or that is the believe of the Church of the Silver Maiden and the Emerald God".
Oscar knew that the Silver Maiden was one of the main religion of Mistrial and his belief and the Emerald God was the Main and One Religion of the Vale, including Ruby and Yang Religion as well.
The room was still, as the names Port mentioned echoed in the students' minds. Richard the Lion Heart, Arthur Pendragon Arc, Adam, Night, Solomon. Legends, heroes, and warriors who had stood against the True Nightmares and survived—some even defeating them.
Cardine, still uneasy, looked at Port. "Wait, so are you saying those people were… special? Like, they were stronger than us, or they had powers we don't know about?"
Port nodded solemnly. "Exactly. These individuals weren't just skilled Huntsmen. They were chosen by fate, or perhaps by the very forces that control the Grimm themselves. Some believed they were born in times of great peril to fight these monsters. Others believed they were descendants of gods, or in the case of the Emerald God, they were thought to be divinely chosen."
Oscar sat back in his chair, his thoughts racing. Arthur Pendragon Arc... Solomon... Adam… These names felt so distant, like figures from a forgotten time. Yet, Oscar couldn't shake the sense that they were more than just legends. There was something about them, something that felt close to home.
The mention of the Emerald God caught his attention. Oscar had heard whispers about this deity before—stories from Vale's church and from old records in the libraries. But to hear it in the context of defeating a True Nightmare was new. Was there some connection between this god and the Nightmares themselves?
Ruby, seemingly unaware of Oscar's inner thoughts, raised her hand. "Professor Port, if those people defeated the True Nightmares, why haven't we heard of them? Why isn't there a bigger legend about them?"
Port sighed deeply, walking over to his desk and picking up a small, dusty tome. "Because, Miss Rose, the Church of the Silver Maiden and the Church of the Emerald God both suppressed the history of these battles. They believe the actions of these individuals were divine and too dangerous for the common people to know. They've rewritten history, and in doing so, erased the true power these heroes wielded."
Blake, who had been quiet up until now, spoke up, her voice tinged with suspicion. "So these people weren't just fighting the Grimm. They were redefining what it meant to be a Huntsman? Taking on something even the gods couldn't defeat?"
Port's eyes softened, a sense of reverence in his gaze as he answered, "Exactly. And that's why they're not just legends. They were real, and their legacy is still felt today. We, as Huntsmen and Huntresses, stand on the shoulders of these giants."
Oscar couldn't help but feel a sense of duty rise within him. There was so much he didn't know, so much he had yet to understand. But if there was one thing he was certain of now, it was that the battle with the True Nightmares was far from over. And if he was going to be part of this world, he needed to learn everything he could from these legends, from history, and from those who fought before him.
Ruby broke the silence that had settled over the class. "So, um, does that mean we can defeat a True Nightmare if we work together?" Her voice held a note of uncertainty but also determination.
Port smiled slightly, though it was tinged with seriousness. "It's possible, Miss Rose. But don't be mistaken—defeating a True Nightmare isn't just about strength. It's about strategy, unity, and understanding the very nature of the creature you're facing. Only by using everything you have at your disposal can you even hope to take one down."
Oscar's thoughts drifted again, now with a newfound resolve. He wasn't just some student learning the ways of the Huntsman anymore. He was part of something far larger. Something that went beyond the walls of Beacon and beyond the boundaries of the world they knew.
The fight against the True Nightmares would be long, but he wasn't going to let history be lost in the pages of forgotten legends. Not when he had the power to change the course of things.
Jaune then spoke as he scratched the back of his head. "So um sir, quick question, are we gonna learn more about these Grimm just incase we are facing one this year".
Port chuckled as he spoken. "Why yes, but also it is highly unlikely that you will be meeting a Nightmare in your life time"
Jaune sighed as he spoke. "Thank the god's"
Later that day, in the Cafitaria.
Weiss spoke as she sighed. "First day in our second year's, and we are already gonna have Nightmares tonight".
Oscar looked as he spoke. "So the Ice princess is scared huh".
Weiss roller her eyes as she speaks. "Tch, no I am not if any-"
She was stopped as a Pie hit her face, as felt a comedic thud, as it was done by Nora as she then pointed at Ren.
Meanwhile outside was Velvet and Coco who were going too the lunch area, to check on Team ROWBY and Team JNPR, with them was girl, she has yellow hair, a sword titer to her bad, she was wearing the Beacon academy female Uniform properly, as she has purple eyes, this is Morgan Pendragon Arc, descendant of Arthur Pendragon Arc, and the M of Team C.R.I.M.
Coco spoke too her. "You are going too love them Morgan".
Morgan looker as she walked passed as they didn't notice the food hitting the window. "That is what Crimson and Isaac has been telling me as well, truth be told I only came too check up on my Jaune".
As they walked they saw students running away as the tables was piled up, as on the top was Nora. "Let the war starts go for there heads".
Ruby then pointed at her as she spoke. "Justice will be served, justic will be getting justice will be delicious"
She crushes the pack of Milk in her hand rilling up her team, as then Jaune, Pyrrha and Nora yeated Watermelon to them, as Yang rushed and put two Trucks like gauntlet and started too destroyed them, as Ruby used two french bread sticks too fight, as then Pyrrha jumper with her, but Oscar blocked with his own bread sticks, as he then used [Wind Slash] to cut his bread into a sword shape.
Osacr smirked looking at her. "We never fought in our first year now did we".
As he started to fight with Pyrrha, the Prodigy of Beacon Vs The Invincible Girl
Did Nora came down her stack grabbed a metal stick and stabbed them into the watermelon, as she started too use like hammer, as the Foog Fight no Food War Started
The cafeteria was chaos.
Food flew in every direction—watermelons exploded, pies splattered against faces, and the sound of clanging forks and spoons filled the air. Team JNPR and Team RWBY were locked in an all-out food fight, with the added intensity of Oscar's challenge against Pyrrha.
Pyrrha's graceful jumps and acrobatic dodges contrasted against Oscar's wind-enhanced bread sword strikes, making their battle a dance of speed and precision. Oscar's grin was wide as he blocked one of her spinning kicks with a swift twirl of his makeshift weapon, and he couldn't resist taunting her.
"Come on, Pyrrha! I thought you were better than this!" he teased, dodging another kick and spinning his bread sword in his hand.
Pyrrha smirked, rolling her eyes. "I've faced tougher opponents than you, Oscar," she retorted, landing lightly on her feet and sending a few quick jabs toward his face with her own fork-turned-sword. "But you've got some moves."
Oscar grinned, blocking the attacks with his own bread sword. "Thanks. I've been practicing!"
On the other side, Yang was an absolute force, her gauntlets clanging loudly as they smashed through watermelon after watermelon with brutal force, while Nora, on top of her towering pile of food, was using a metal stick like a hammer, pounding anything that came near her. Her gleeful shouts rang through the cafeteria as she yelled, "The food must fall, and I will reign supreme!"
Ruby, ever the strategist, was using the most unconventional weapon imaginable: two French breadsticks. She swung them around with the ferocity of someone wielding a pair of swords, expertly fending off anyone who came too close.
"Justice will be served!" Ruby shouted dramatically, a wild gleam in her eye as she slashed the breadsticks in a wide arc.
Meanwhile, Velvet and Coco stood by the entrance of the cafeteria, watching the spectacle with a mix of amusement and disbelief. Velvet, always the more composed of the two, raised an eyebrow at the chaos.
"Well, I see they haven't changed," she remarked, a soft chuckle escaping her lips.
Coco grinned, her usual mischievous smile in place. "It's the second year. Time for some new chaos to kick off."
Morgan Pendragon Arc, walking with them, couldn't help but smirk. With her yellow hair tied back and her sword at her side, she walked toward the cafeteria entrance, feeling a bit of nostalgia for the days when she used to participate in these kinds of food wars with her own teammates back in her early days at Beacon.
"You're gonna love this, Morgan," Coco said, nudging her with an elbow. "But first, you have to get past that."
Morgan's eyes scanned the scene, and she couldn't help but laugh softly at the chaos, noticing Jaune, Pyrrha, and Nora in the thick of it.
"I swear, I think I just came here to check up on Jaune. This... might be more than I bargained for," Morgan said with a slight chuckle, watching as Jaune tried to hold his own, fighting fiercely with his breadstick weapon against Oscar.
Velvet's soft voice cut through the noise as she observed, "Looks like he's got a new challenger."
Morgan's lips curled into a playful grin. "I'm sure he'll hold his own... but if they keep going, I might just have to step in."
At that moment, as though on cue, Jaune, spotting his team, paused mid-swing and accidentally got hit with a flying pie right in the face. He blinked a few times, his expression frozen in shock, before his face broke into a wide grin.
"Well, that's one way to welcome me back," Jaune muttered, wiping pie off his face and throwing a wink in Morgan's direction.
Morgan chuckled. "Guess you really can't escape the madness around here, huh?"
"Hey, it's all part of the fun!" Jaune said, and with a determined look, he grabbed another watermelon, tossing it back at Nora, who immediately retaliated with another well-aimed swing of her metal stick.
The food war raged on, and despite the initial shock, everyone—Velvet, Coco, and even Morgan—couldn't help but laugh as they watched their friends get caught up in the most ridiculous of battles.
Morgan, as if deciding that she couldn't watch from the sidelines any longer, took a few steps forward, grabbing a random pie from the nearby counter. "Alright, guess I'm in!"
As she moved in, she threw the pie directly at Jaune's back. It exploded upon impact, and she heard him yell in surprise before turning around, grinning from ear to ear.
"Oh, it's on now, Morgan!" Jaune shouted as he grabbed a handful of mashed potatoes and flung them her way.
With that, the food war escalated even further, and there was no telling how long it would go on. But for now, the chaos of Beacon's cafeteria was the perfect way to shake off the tensions of the day and bond with their friends.
In the end, Oscar laughed with the rest of them, feeling the weight of what they had learned earlier that day fade away for just a moment, replaced by the joy and chaos of the present.
"Guess that's one way to end our first day of second year," he said with a grin, taking another swing at Pyrrha's flying melon.
"Yeah, not exactly what I expected," Pyrrha replied, laughing. "But definitely the most fun I've had in a while."
The cafeteria was a chaotic battlefield, with food flying everywhere, and students were barely keeping up with the madness. Nora's makeshift hammer, a stick stabbed into a watermelon, had just launched Yang through the ceiling, sending her crashing upwards with a force that left a noticeable dent.
Morgan, standing nearby, watched in stunned silence, feeling an odd sense of déjà vu. Her mind raced as she recognized the situation unfolding before her.
Flashback:
Two years ago, in a much different setting—a food-covered battlefield made entirely of food it was still Beacons. Team CFVY and Team CRIM had once engaged in a fierce, albeit ridiculous, food fight. Crimson, using his Semblance, summoned portals that transported food from all over the room, creating a relentless barrage. Coco, ever the strategist, was in the thick of it, sending a flurry of food in all directions. Velvet dodged and ducked, her graceful movements avoiding the onslaught while Rose chased after her relentlessly.
Then there was Morgan. Her opponent, Yatsuhashi, had decided to face her head-on, wielding a breadstick as his weapon of choice. With an impressive burst of Aura-fueled strength, Yatsuhashi had managed to send Morgan soaring through the ceiling, much like Yang had just been sent flying moments ago.
End of Flash Back
Morgan blinked, the memory fading away as she snapped back to the present. The sight of Yang crashing through the ceiling felt too familiar, and a smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
Back in the present, the food war raged on. Pyrrha had had enough. She slammed her hand into the ground, causing metal debris from around the room to float into the air. With a flick of her wrist, she launched them at Team RWBY, sending them flying in various directions.
Oscar stepped in just in time, casting a [Fire Wall] to block the incoming barrage. The flames crackled as they burned brightly, but Oscar's eyes widened in realization as Ruby activated her Semblance.
"Oh no," he muttered, just a moment too late.
Ruby grinned, her Semblance kicking into overdrive as she became a literal tornado of food. The sheer velocity of her spinning form sent food flying in every direction. She twisted through the air, narrowly avoiding crashing into her teammates and instead spinning out a wave of food that engulfed Team JNPR and Weiss in an explosion of color and chaos. They were all sent into the wall with an exaggerated thud.
Nora, now gracefully falling from her perch, spoke with a smirk. "You win."
Velvet laughed from the sidelines, watching the display. "This was fun."
She turned to Coco, who was entirely covered in food and color from the frenzied battle. "Yeah, sure," Coco replied dryly, clearly still processing the full impact of the fight. Her usual confident demeanor was now replaced with a look of mild annoyance, though she was still grinning.
Just then, the unmistakable sound of authority rang out.
Glynda Goodwitch marched into the cafeteria, her expression hard and disappointed as she surveyed the destruction. "What have you done?" she demanded, her voice booming with a mix of frustration and disbelief.
Yang, after what seemed like an eternity, finally returned from her unexpected aerial adventure, her Aura protecting her from the fall. She landed back on her feet, dusting herself off with a grin. "What's the big deal, Glynda? It's just a little food fight!"
The rest of Team JNPR and Team RWBY scrambled to get back to their feet as well, each of them covered in varying amounts of food and color.
A few minutes later, Glynda's Semblance kicked in as she began to use her telekinesis to clean up the mess, floating the scattered food and debris back into place. "This," she muttered, "will take me hours to clean up."
But despite her irritation, there was a slight twinkle in her eyes as she watched the students interact, knowing deep down that this chaotic moment would be one of the memories they would all look back on fondly. Even if it meant hours of cleaning afterward.
Glynda sighed dramatically but didn't protest further, silently wishing she had just stayed in her office for the day.
The food fight had come to a close, but the bonds between the teams had only grown stronger as they laughed and joked, covered in food but feeling more united than ever.
