Chapter 28

A few days ago, Summer Mu rented a house. It was a small room in a two bedroom apartment, with a couple living next door. She was new here, naturally polite and humble in everything, and got along well. Only at night.

Late that night, Summer Mu was sleeping soundly when she suddenly woke up. I heard the rhythmic sound of shaking the bed next door. She silently picked up the pillow and pressed it against her ear.

The moonlight at the bedside shines like water, clear and light. Although she couldn't quite adapt to everything about this drifter: renting, the climate, the sound of walls... she still had vague aspirations in her heart.

In the quiet of the night, she suddenly remembered Beck again.

What she remembered was the night they finally met in J city, when she turned around at the barbecue stall and saw his dark, pondlike eyes. How could he had imagined at that time that he was planning to follow her to H city and stab her in the back?

It was impossible for Summer Mu to have no resentment towards this matter in her heart. But as she said to Claire, she can understand. With her friendship with Beck, did we expect them to give up heroically in the business world?

However, these were no longer important. The important thing was that what Beck threw at her was the best opportunity she could have now. She must hold onto it.

——

The next morning, while the neighbor was still sleeping quietly, Summer Mu had already gone out. Took the subway for 30 minutes first, then took the bus for another 30 minutes, and arrived at Beck's company. In the future, she would also be in the company.

The top priority today was to complete the onboarding procedures. The Director of Human Resources was a capable woman in her thirties who was also very approachable. Just when she reached the column of educational information, she was slightly stunned and asked, "Are you from high school? Are you self-taught for your undergraduate degree?"

Summer Mu replied, "Yes."

The other party nodded and said, "Okay, I understand."

Summer Mu asked again, "Director, are all the employees of the company with good educational backgrounds?"

The director smiled and replied, "That's right. Most of the colleagues in the design department are from the famous University and prestigious foreign universities. My human resources department is also from the famous University. However, I think Beck must have his reasons for using you. Work hard."

Summer Mu smiled and said, "Okay, thank you." She felt a little uneasy because of her words.

"By the way, you're the only one in the marketing department now. You can sit with your colleagues from the design department first."

Summer Mu was taken aback for a moment.

The office area was open, and all employees sat together. Only Beck and a few directors had independent offices. There were only a dozen or so employees present today. As soon as Summer Mu sat down in her new seat, a young girl leaned in and said, "Hello, I'm Daisy from the Operations Department." On the other side, a young boy stood up and said, "Hello new colleague, I'm Carl from the Design Department."

Summer Mu shook hands with them one by one and greeted them, feeling that they were all very friendly and elegant. The temperament of the supermarket staff was completely different.

 At this moment, Beck arrived.

"Mr. Beck. "

" Good morning Beck. "Many people greeted him. He held a cup of coffee in his hand, a suit draped in his arms, and a neat shirt and tie. He smiled lightly, his eyebrows and eyes giving off a refined and elegant feeling like a spring breeze. Summer Mu suddenly realized - this was the way he looked at his own people.

His gaze also fell on Summer Mu, and then he walked towards her. Summer Mu stared at him, but what she was thinking was that there was a bit of deception involved in him making her the "Marketing Manager". She was the only bare handed commander in this department, whether she was a manager or an assistant, there was not much difference at all.

Although she thought so, she still showed a professional smile. Beck stood beside her, and their eyes met silently. He reached out and gently hugged her shoulder, facing everyone: "Everyone, this is the new marketing manager Summer Mu. She has achieved excellent results in the supermarket system in J city. I hope that in the future, Manager Mu will work with us to achieve the company's performance goals together."

Summer Mu's heart unexpectedly warmed, and applause had already erupted around her. She quickly smiled and bowed, "Thank you all!" However, the hand on her shoulder had already slipped. When she lifted her head, she saw him smile and turn around to walk into his office.

——

In the following time, Summer Mu would be sitting in her seat reading company information. She didn't know without looking, it's really surprising at first glance. Beck's company was actually in the clothing business. It's a bit difficult for Summer Mu to associate Beck with the clothing business. However, this also explained why Y's clothing was made so professionally and well before.

Beck bought a clothing factory located in the outskirts. The main departments of the company were the design department, operations management department, and human resources department, all of which were responsible for managing and serving the upcoming store opening next month. The rest were scattered positions: administration, finance, front desk... of course, including her large marketing department.

It's almost noon. Daisy and Carl next to him were both out for business, while other colleagues either ordered takeout or went downstairs to eat. Summer Mu was not familiar with anyone. She went downstairs alone, stood on the street and looked around, only to find that they were all high-end restaurants that she didn't want to enter.

The cheapest and most affordable option was the Mc. But that still costed thirty dollars, and she didn't like to eat it.

She stood at the entrance of Mc, struggling, when suddenly she heard a voice behind her: "Isn't the salary I gave you enough? Can't you even afford this kind of junk food?"

Summer Mu turned around, the sun was so bright, and Beck's white shirt was a bit dazzling in the sunlight. She replied, "I can afford to eat it, but for thirty dollars, I'm grateful for it. And it's not tasty."

Beck glanced at her and said, "Come with me."

So Summer Mu followed him through the long street, bypassed the alleys, and arrived at the entrance of a restaurant that looked very elegant and high-end. Seeing that he was about to eat, Summer Mu felt a little embarrassed. But Beck had no intention of seeking her opinion and walked ahead alone. And she also had something to ask him.

The two of them walked in, and there were still quite a few people at that time. In the hallway, a waiter walked towards me with a plate full of dishes in his hand. Beck sidestepped and lightly touched Summer Mu. He was already a head taller than her, and Summer Mu's shoulders rested on his chest. Neither of them moved, as if unaware. Summer Mu's heart was like a lake, rippling slightly but still silent. In the blink of an eye, he had already walked towards the empty table next to him.

Summer Mu sat down opposite him and picked up the menu to hand to her. Summer Mu waved her hand and said, "I don't know how to order, you can order."

He glanced at her and opened the menu, 'What do you want to eat?'

Summer Mu thought to herself, his gentlemanly demeanor on the surface really deserved a perfect score." I haven't even eaten it, it's okay. "She replied with a smile

As a result, Beck called the waiter and ordered all the signature dishes in the restaurant. Summer Mu hurriedly stopped him and said, "Um... Mr. Beck, that's enough. We can't finish it."

Beck looked calm and said, "Hmm, I don't like wasting. If you can't finish eating, you can pack it up."

Summer Mu: "…"
