Strolling The Outpost Town

"How about all of these for 10 large Gold coins?"

"What?... Of course not!... I said all of these Monster_Cores and Monster_Materials are worth 20 large Gold coins! There is no way I'm selling all of these at such a low price!"

"Do you take us for a fool, Mister? There is no way all of these will cost 20 large Gold coins! Are you trying to scam our group?!"

"I'm telling you, young lady. The price of Monster_Cores and Monster_Materials is much higher here at the floating island compared to the mainland."

"Fine!... Then just add a box of Mana_Crystals for the price of 20 large Gold coins!"

"Seriously?!... A box of Mana_Crystals is worth 5 large Gold coins! There is no way I'm giving it as a freebie!"

"What?... 5 large Gold coins?... You, scammer!"

"How dare you accuse us of being a scammer! We're the Merchants' Guild, young lady!"

"SCAMMER!!!..."

"I had enough!... If you don't want to buy our product, then get out! Security!"

"What?... Let go of me!"

"You're going out now, young lady. Even if you like it or not!"

"Argh!... Stop!!!... You can't throw us out!"

"Fix your manners if you want to return here at the Merchants' Guild, young lady!"

...BAMM!...

Our group was tossed outside the back door of the Merchants' Guild. Then the Security personnel closed the door with a loud slam.

If only we were tossed outside the front door, I could make a commotion to get back to that receptionist who just tried to scam our group...

"Stop thinking bad things, Vier-chan. This one is clearly your fault."

"It's bad if you don't pay properly, Vier."

"Ugh!... I know, but I just can't believe that the price of Monster_Cores and Monster_Materials will be double here at Floating Island of Liber."

"Well, we can't do anything about that, Vier-chan. Let's just keep on doing the other things we need to do."

Earlier, after we finished our research at the town's library, our group decided to go to the Merchants' Guild to look for Monster_Cores and Monster_Materials.

We're able to find some Rank_3 and Rank_4 Monsters_Cores which is at the rank that Mifumi-sama's new Sorceress_Staff can handle and some Monster_Materials for me to make some Magic_Items. However, we were surprised after the receptionist presented to us the total cost of all the things we wanted to buy.

It's not like we can't afford that price with our remaining budget but if we did, it will put our group expenses in red.

"What the heck?!... All of these Weapons are so cheap!... Is this perhaps another type of scam?"

"Please stop thinking that every merchant is trying to scam their customers, Vier-chan."

"Mhm!... Vier is always suspicious."

Our next destination is the Blacksmith's store that Ms. Klea recommends.

I assumed that the price of the Weapons for sale would also be double the standard price like what happened at the Merchants' Guild but somehow, what we saw was the opposite.

All of the Weapons are cheap.

I'm not talking about dirt cheap but the price is around 50 to 75 percent off less than the standard price. Okay, it's totally dirt cheap.

"I'm not saying that every merchant is a scammer but why are the Weapons so cheap in this store?"

"That is because there are plenty of Metal Monster_Materials here at Floating Island of Liber. It's a Dungeon of Golems after all."

A small girl with long dark brown hair and short pointed ears appears behind our group and answers my question.

"Since the price for the materials is low, we're basically selling all of our Weapons only a little bit higher than the craftsman rate or labor cost. Therefore, we're not running a scam here, dear customer."

That girl looked at me with a lovely smile after remarking the scam. But somehow, I can see a threatening glare in her eyes.

"So that's the reason... Now I know... Ha, ha, ha..."

I'm just gonna play innocent with my sarcastic laugh.

"Got anything more to say, dear customer?"

Ugh!... It's not working. Her glare just got more intense. Please help me Mifumi-sama, Felin.

"Please show us a good Weapon that this child can use."

"Mhm!... I want a good Weapon!"

After Mifumi-sama and Felin said that our group intended to purchase a Weapon, the small girl who is a Dwarf-kin and the owner of the Blacksmith store finally stopped her deadly glare towards me.

She then started treating our group as a proper customer.

"Once again, my name is Eun, and I'm the owner of the Eirian_Blacksmith store. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

And she's not a small girl at all but a proper adult.

"We're the Adventures' Party Dwarf_Cat-Eared_Elf. I'm Mifumi."

"I'm Felin. Please give me a good Weapon, Miss."

"I'm Vier... And I'm sorry about the scam remarks earlier. I'm just surprised at how dirt... I mean cheap the pricing on your Weapons."

Mifumi-sama then explained to Ms. Eun the other reason why I was surprised by the low pricing of the store. And that reason is...

"Of course, you will be surprised if you compare our Weapons to the ones made by Mr. Berlin! He is a high-ranking Blacksmith after all!"

Ms. Eun said that along with the threatening glare which is now present again in her eyes.

Master Berlin is one of the instructors at our hometown's Adventurers' School and my master at blacksmithing.

I guess Ms. Eun has a point that I can't compare Master Berlin's Weapon to other normal Blacksmith store Weapons. I just got so accustomed to seeing the price of Master Berlin's Weapon that made me though it was the standard price.

After a few introductions, Felin shows Ms. Eun her new Knife and Dagger which were made by Master Berlin from the Monster_Materials of a Rank_7 Black_Tiger monster.

Ms. Eun almost faints after seeing the high-class Weapon that is casually sheathed on Felin's side. Then she gave our group a harsh scolding because we didn't know the trouble waiting for us if bad people saw that a child-like Felin was carrying a super expensive item.

"She didn't need to scold us like that. We didn't know that Felin's Knife and Dagger was super expensive. It was Master Berlin's fault for not explaining it to us."

"Well, Ms. Eun is only thinking of our safety so don't get mad at her, Vier-chan."

"Mhm!... She sold us a good Weapon too."

Felin's Rank_7 Weapon is now stored at her Item_Bag and the new Knife and Dagger that we bought at Eirian_Blacksmith store for the total price of 4 large Gold coins are now sheathed at Felin's side.

The Knife and Dagger were made from the Monster_Materials of a unique Golem called Steel_Golem and they're really good Weapon too.

Ms. Eun even gave our group a discount so that harsh scolding was at least worth it.

After walking for a while, our group is finally at our last stop for today, the open market at the town's square.

Finally, it's time for the battle between the wit and the wise.

"It is time to find the Gold among the trash! And make sure we won't get scammed!"

"Mhm!... We won't be scammed!"

"Vier-chan, Felin-chan, stop shouting like that. Everyone is looking annoyed at us.
