Chapter 298

"Divine beast?"

Ye Feng extended his spiritual power across the Star Dou Forest.

Sure enough, something unusual was happening.

Wherever a spirit beast had cultivated for over 100,000 years, a radiant beam of light descended from the sky, enveloping them. Their figures slowly rose upward, and one after another, each spirit beast began transforming into a dragon.

It wasn't just Da Ming and Er Ming—every other 100,000-year spirit beast was also ascending toward the God Realm.

"Hey, there's a powerful energy fluctuation coming from the Far North too," Xiao Wu said with surprise.

Ye Feng looked toward the distant northern lands.

Just as she said, similar phenomena were happening there, but only three spirit beasts were ascending. If Ye Feng's guess was correct, those three were the legendary beasts that wouldn't be publicly known until over ten thousand years later.

"And the sea too!"

Xiao Wu's gaze shifted toward the ocean.

The seas of the Douluo Star covered more area than land. Its living space was even vaster. Nearly a hundred light pillars rose from the ocean depths—meaning nearly a hundred spirit beasts were also ascending to the divine realm.

"I'm really completing my dragon transformation?"

Xiaobai, King of the Demonic Spirit Great White Sharks, had an ecstatic look in her eyes.

"Master, I can feel the divine realm calling. I'm about to ascend," Xiaobai said through spiritual communication with Ye Feng.

"Go ahead, Xiaobai," Ye Feng smiled. "Wait for me in the God Realm."

He took a deep breath, feeling relieved.

Compared to interfering with the divine trials of his companions, he preferred seeing spirit beasts ascend freely. After all, divine beasts were naturally a part of the divine world.

One heavy burden in Ye Feng's heart had finally been lifted.

Still, there were two things that both he and Bibi Dong were concerned about:

Tang San may have used the Dragon God's power to unblock the ascension passage that the gods had sealed.

Tang San could have manipulated the God of Lust and other gods to alter the divine trials, specifically to target Ye Feng or the newly established United Nations.

Of the two, Ye Feng preferred the first. If it was the second, it would bring immense trouble for him and his allies.

"Something's not right."

Ye Feng frowned, thinking to himself, That's not right. The only way to unblock the ascension passage sealed by the gods is through the God Realm Core. Only with that core can one clear the divine obstruction. Otherwise, unless you have power equal to the five supreme gods, it's impossible.

Tang San had just become the Dragon God. He couldn't possibly have enough strength to rival the five supreme gods.

So the only explanation… was that he had obtained the God Realm Core.

But according to Ye Feng's knowledge, after the Dragon God's death, the God Realm Core had been in the hands of the Supreme God—Asura.

How, then, did Tang San acquire it?

That mystery still lingered, but for now, Ye Feng allowed himself a moment of peace.

Xiao Wu, Huo Wu, Meng Yiran, Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and the others had already reached the eighth or ninth stages of their divine trials. Within two more years, they would likely become gods. By then, Ye Feng could also ascend and uncover how Tang San got the core from the Asura God.

Outside Sea God Island

"Ma'am, what's going on?" Zi Zhenzhu asked the woman beside her.

The woman was about 1.65 meters tall, with a graceful, well-balanced figure—not too thin, not too curvy. Her long aqua-blue hair flowed down her back, and her fair face bore delicate features. She wasn't breathtaking at first glance, but upon closer look, her beauty revealed itself—soft and mysterious, like mist over the sea.

Her name was Shui Bing'er.

She had passed all nine trials of the Sea God and was the next inheritor of the Sea God's mantle. News of her status had spread throughout the seas. Therefore, Zi Zhenzhu respectfully referred to her as "Ma'am."

Since joining the United Nations, Sea God Island had sparked change across the oceans. Under Shui Bing'er's influence, Zi Zhenzhu led her pirate fleet to renounce their identity as pirates and founded their own Nation, now an important member of the United Nations.

Now, all across the sea, pillars of light shot into the sky. The fish beneath the surface stilled, silent as cicadas in winter, not daring to move.

"The spirit beasts are ascending," Shui Bing'er said softly.

"Why now? Why are they suddenly ascending?" Zi Zhenzhu asked, confused.

"Feng said the ascension passage was sealed by human gods. It must be Tang San—he probably altered the rules after ascending to the God Realm," Shui Bing'er replied, frowning as her gaze turned to the island ahead.

"Ma'am, should we continue sailing?" Zi Zhenzhu asked.

Shui Bing'er had visited this place many times before. Zi Zhenzhu knew well—every time they came close to Sea God Island, Shui Bing'er would hesitate and return to their nation's sland without landing.

"Let's go back," Shui Bing'er sighed.

"Yes"

Just as Zi Zhenzhu raised her hand to order the crew to turn around, a gentle voice echoed from the sea.

"Sister Bing'er, since you've come this far, why leave?"

The High Priest!

Those words struck Zi Zhenzhu like thunder.

Shui Bing'er hesitated, her expression conflicted. "Sister Xixi, I…"

"Come, Sister Bing'er. Everything is ready," the voice of the Sea God High Priest—Bo Sanxi—rang out once more.

Zi Zhenzhu looked at Shui Bing'er. "Ma'am, do we continue to Sea God Island, or return?"

"…Move forward."

Shui Bing'er made her decision.

As the Sea God's heir, this wasn't her first time visiting the island or encountering the Demonic Spirit Great White Sharks. Even if they appeared, no beast dared block her path.

After stepping ashore, Shui Bing'er entered the Sea God Temple.

The great doors closed behind her, leaving her surrounded in darkness. Yet, she moved with practiced ease to the summoning platform—where she had once called forth the Sea God's Trident.

As she stepped onto the platform, the golden trident emblem on her brow lit up.

Bo Sanxi was already there, standing with her back to her. Feeling her presence, he slowly turned around and smiled.

"Sister, I…"

Shui Bing'er looked like a child caught doing something wrong, unsure how to explain herself.

"I know why you came," Bo Sanxi said gently. "You want to ascend to the God Realm and help Bibi Dong fight Tang San, don't you?"

Shui Bing'er nodded. "But… if I do that, I'll die."

"Death is merely the end of life—and life, the beginning of death. They're part of the same cycle. Besides, I am the High Priest of the Sea God and also his descendant."

She looked at her in surprise.

"Feng is right. Becoming the High Priest wasn't a curse passed down by my ancestors—it was their way of protecting me. I've never betrayed my faith. I've always been loyal to him. And since I'm his descendant… he has no reason to deny me entry into the God Realm."

Bo Sanxi smiled, calm and unwavering. She didn't want Shui Bing'er to feel guilt for the sacrifice she had already prepared to make.
