Milan film preview

The shrill ring of Laura’s cellphone jarred her awake the next morning. Still groggy, she fumbled to answer it.

“Hi honey, it’s me,” came Blake’s warm voice. “Sorry if I woke you, but I have news...”

He went on to explain that the producer Mr. Bianchi had arranged a screening at his theater in Milan to view early shots from the film Laura had helped work on at the villa last visit. They wanted her feedback.

“Bianchi said we can make a little holiday out of it too, bring Monique to see the city,” Blake added enthusiastically. “What do you think?”

“That...that sounds nice,” Laura stammered, still slightly disoriented and anxious about last night’s misunderstanding with Jacqueline. She glanced around hesitantly before lowering her voice.

“But I mean, I’d have to check with Jacqueline about timing to wrap up her work here...”
