So Many Zombies!

Not only were there many zombies here, but they were all female zombies!

Maxwell, through the eyes of his Level 8 zombie, took a closer look and noticed that many of these female zombies were immobile, with some even having vegetation growing over their heads.

Only a few of the female zombies wandered aimlessly.

However, these immobile zombies were not actually dead. Maxwell directed his Level 8 zombie to poke one of them, and the zombie clearly reacted.

After confirming this, Maxwell sent the Level 8 zombie deeper into the Red Fortress.

The castle seemed eerie, with all the buildings constructed of red bricks and tiles. The red was not a normal shade but a blood-red color, creating a repressive and mysterious atmosphere.

The Level 8 zombie quickly moved through a large plaza crowded with zombies, running through this medieval red castle.

Female zombies were everywhere in the Red Fortress. They appeared dazed; some wandered around, others stood still without moving, and some stopped after walking around. Maxwell estimated that there might be several thousand female zombies.

"We've struck it rich! We've struck it rich!" Maxwell couldn't help but get excited as he firmly kissed Carline's delicate cheek.

After kissing Carline, Maxwell saw Eva looking at him blankly, so he embraced Eva and gave her a kiss as well.

Now both were treated equally!

Maxwell then turned his attention back to the view of the Level 8 zombie.

Just the plaza alone had several thousand female zombies. From this, it could be inferred that the castle might indeed house tens of thousands of female zombies!

Maxwell almost could see Eva and Carline rising to the fourth or even fifth tier!

"The plants in the castle are very strange, and all the zombies here are female; there's not a single male zombie. Wasn't this place breached by zombies a hundred years ago? Were all the zombies that breached it also female? How is that possible?"

After opening four batches of treasure chests, Maxwell's mental perception had significantly improved. His mind quickly processed, analyzing many details he had previously overlooked.

The Level 8 zombie he had sent to scout was also a female zombie.

"I mustn't rush; patience is crucial. I need to understand the situation first."

With this thought, Maxwell dispatched a Level 1 female zombie and then released a Level 7 male zombie, commanding these two zombies to head towards the Red Fortress.

Next, he sent out two mutant male zombies, one of them Level 2 and the other Level 3. He directed these mutant zombies into the forest to gather the wandering zombies.

There were many zombies roaming the forest, and Maxwell intuitively felt that these might be the ones that had previously conquered the castle.

Now, these zombies, including the red castle before him, were already considered as good as his.

No matter how eerie the circumstances, he wouldn't let go!

Maxwell brought Eva and Carline to the base of the mountain.

From the base to the middle of the mountain, the trees appeared normal, ranging from about twenty to forty meters tall, with fifty-meter-tall trees being quite rare. Unlike deeper within the mountain, where even the shortest trees reached over a hundred meters.

Maxwell commanded the two mutant male zombies to gather zombies in the mountain, while he himself kept an eye on the activity at the base of the mountain, always alert to the movements below.

Before him, five screens appeared, arranged in two rows, displaying the views seen by the five zombies Maxwell had dispatched. His gaze constantly shifted among these five screens.

These screens were invisible to others; similarly, no one else could see the Fusion space Maxwell controlled. To an onlooker, it would seem as though Maxwell was staring blankly, his gaze unfocused, as if he were daydreaming.

The Level 1 mutant female zombie and the Level 7 male zombie that Maxwell had sent out later took about an hour to reach the mountain within the mountain.

Then, the two zombies entered the forest from different locations.

At first, everything seemed normal.

But as they approached the Red Fortress, something eerie happened.

From the towering trees outside the Red Fortress, a vine suddenly lashed out, striking the Level 7 male zombie with such force that it was flung away, then crashed heavily to the ground, its body shattered into countless pieces.

However, the Level 1 mutant female zombie was not attacked.

"Damn, is this really a case of discrimination against men? Not just men, but even male zombies aren't spared!"

Maxwell, at the base of the mountain, looked at the ethereal screens before him, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

This information made him imagine all sorts of dramatic love and hatred.

For instance, he speculated that the builder of the Red Fortress might have been severely wronged by a man, hence her hatred towards men. This might have driven her to construct such a fortress in this secluded mountain, specifically to shelter women, only for it to be eventually overrun by zombies.

Of course, all these were just Maxwell's conjectures and imaginations, and could not be taken as fact.

The one thing Maxwell could be sure of now was that there was something very wrong with this forest, and it seemed likely that the creator of the castle had nature-based abilities, meaning she could at least control these plants.

After pondering for a moment, Maxwell decided to send the Level 1 mutant female zombie inside the Red Fortress as well.

Thus, the Level 1 mutant female zombie climbed along the vines and entered, reaching the gathering plaza inside the fortress where the female zombies were.

The motionless female zombies on the plaza began to stir under the influence of the Level 1 mutant female zombie.

"Goodness! It actually works!"

A look of delight appeared on Maxwell's face.

"Gathering these zombies seems to be no big problem!"

This scene was somewhat unexpected for Maxwell; could it be that there were no other mutant zombies inside the Red Fortress?

Maxwell found that unlikely. The only explanation was that the mutant zombies inside the Red Fortress must be deeper within the castle.

Thus, Maxwell continued to instruct the first Level 8 female zombie that entered the fortress to explore further into the depths of the castle.

However, up to this point, he hadn't found anything else.

Inside the castle, it was much the same as what he had seen before; other than female zombies, there were only female zombies.
